It was true. For someone of my age I was a bit of a nerd. Still an interaction with the students might prove very fruitful. I had heard they were a rather violent sort but had yet to see that for myself. Going in disguise as not to let them know a teacher was present I was dressed up as the blue mystic power ranger. It was nice to be able to mingle amongst people for a change, still I did not see anyone I recognized yet and all I could do in the meantime was look around in awe at what the student who set this party up accomplished.

It seemed a lot of people were taking to the dance floor. Kenin wasn't much into dancing, him on a dance floor wasn't necessarily a bad thing it's just that he stood out in the middle of a crowd if he really tried to get down and dance. So instead he observed, one of the things was the person who completely had their costume mixed up. They were wearing a Super Girl outfit, but they had Wonder Woman's lasso.
He mentally sighed as his head dropped at the costume fail, but people had done worse. I mean really what could you expect from someone who obviously didn't look like they were into comic books? And who was the giant yellow ranger to judge somebody else. So instead he decided he would dance, but incognito. He put his yellow ranger outfit on and got into the middle of the dance floor as he started to bust a groove by himself, pulling out his best Michael Jackson and James Brown style moves.
He caught a bit of attention to, the 7'8" yellow ranger in the middle of a dance floor just getting down and boogieing like ti was nobodies business. What he really wanted played though, was the Power Rangers theme song, because then he could see if anybody else was a ranger, and if they could sorta all unite on the dance floor. Either that or The Monster Mash.

Time to be a total asshole! Orion had quite calmly proceeded around the dance-floor, taking note of the costumes before an evil plan formed in his mind. Not so much evil as it would be awesome comic relief. He walked into the lighting office, paid the guy 50 bucks, and proceeded to the DJ, where he then pulled out his paintball gun, just in case. "I have a song request.""And that would be?"Orion leaned down and whispered into the man's ear his entire plan. Though first stunned, the DJ grinned evilly. "Give me 10 bucks and I'll do it.""Deal."After waiting for the next song to stop, the DJ spoke up. "We have here a request. All of you dressed correctly.... figure out what to do!"Orion grinned. The theme played as spot-lights came on and surrounded the rangers. Well, a few did. The rest... pointed at their enemy. Who happened to be in a psycho mantis costume. Which meant he didn't look very human. He may, in fact, to a drunken guy, see the guy as a monster.

Yawning widely, his chin cradled in the palm of his hand, Kazuya sat at the bar, he wasn't much of the dancing type, it's not that he didn't know how to dance, it's just, given a choice, he rather not most of the time. His eyes peering out at the crowd, he saw a familiar face, Jayr, who was dressed up as Super Girl, but totting Wonder Woman's lasso. Strange combination of costumes he had to admit, but in a strange way, complimenting Jayr. It was weird though, up until now, he never really noticed that she looked shockingly similar to one of his really close friends, Reira DeMorvick, probably because most of the time, he had been spending it bickering and squabbling and just generally not getting along with her, the two of them never been able to see eye to eye, though Kazuya was trying to get along with her now, the fight they had helping.
Just as he was deciding on whether to go over to her and say hello, he heard the DJ shout out to the crowd, as any person familiar with the show would know, and to top it all off, spotlights began to shine down on various people, including him. Momentarily blinded, Kazuya stared blankly at one particular spotlight that shone down on someone dressed as Psycho Mantis, before shrugging his shoulders and getting off the stool, at least his helmet would hide his face. Putting it on, he made his way through the crowd, reaching the center of the dance floor, as he waited for the rest of the motley crew of sorts to gather, he could one Ranger, one really tall Yellow Ranger. Either that was a really tall girl, or the costume shop had run out of the other Ranger colors for the poor guy.

"...Maaaan, fuck a costume."
He'd seen the flyers, not two days after moving into his studio apartment and considering himself officially re-settled into Long Beach. The timing was...nothing short of great, honestly. For the first time in two years, Kevin was starting to feel alive again, and someone decides to throw a major Halloween party? Ol' Kev didn't mind it at all. The problem was deciding on what to wear; Hammer? Too last minute with too much demand, considering MC Hammer had just performed at the Hip Hop Awards. Wolverine? Played. Kevin considered Guy from Street Fighter, but knew a pre-set outfit like that wouldn't be in his size, thus it would need to be built, and he didn't have the patience. He was running out of options, though Kevin DID remember formal attire would fly tonight. Hmm...maaaan...
Which brings us to the present---or at least, the present in terms of before Kevin hopped out and headed to the venue. He'd run through various hangers full of clothes in his closet, finding nothing buuuut a dashing little number that his father (God rest his soul) had bought him. A full tuxedo. Convenient; problem was, he was looking at shoes and had a fresh pair of dress shoes but HONESTLY, did he really want to?
Which brings us to the present---no, seriously this time. He'd flash ID, take the bracelet on the realization that Kevin wouldn't be drinking tonight ("Eh, I'll take my punch without a kick then...") and step inside after being patted down. He'd come pretty spiffy---clean black blazer, a black button-up with the first two buttons undone, black slacks with a neat yet loose fit at the leg...though he might have bent the rules some with the high-top Timberland boots on his feet. Urban STYLISHHHHH. Sorta. Kevin also threw on a black beret and let his hair hang free, albeit very neatly combed. Black prescription glasses were worn and he had black studs in each earlobe. He wasn't in any hurry to get things going, though he'd look to be the life of the party once the right song came on. Til then, he would walk around the outside of things, observe, and try to find where his vibe was.
...It's go time.

As the glass was slide toward her, Jayla picked it to bring to her lips, but before it could make there someone’s comment made her pause. Cutting her eyes to the side she resumed in taking her sip a soft laugh leaving her. She recognized the line, and had seen the movie – her dad was big into the genre, so when it was family movie night he got to pick, but instead of smashing her glass on the side of the guys head like Leonardo Dicaprio had she set it back down, her fingers brushing down the slightly sweating sides when she did.
The joke would have been a little funnier if she was a guy but as it was, it sort of fell short for her. Thankfully Jayla didn’t have to say anything to the pair of power rangers because her attention was stolen when an announcement came from the DJ’s booth and the lights one landing right on the guys she had happened to be sitting next to. Mostly though her brown eyes were back on the dance floor to see that her previous dance partner hadn’t been so lucky as to get away…
Chuckling to herself she shook her head and turned leaning an elbow back against the bar as she tipped her head to the side. It was interesting all right, just like she had figured it might be and with a laugh to herself Jayla shook out her fake blond locks. She didn’t want to seem rude and not respond to the guy dressed up as a Power Ranger, but…Evil needed thwarting apparently, and who was she to stand in the way of justice?
“Go, go Power Rangers,” she said enthusiastically in salute with her glass and a soft laugh. So there it was and when she turned back around she smiled then motioned to the bartender again, asking politely if he might have a deck of playing cards behind the bar and sent her thanks when he most certainly did.
Grabbing the newly acquired cards and her drink she turned away from the bar and slipped past a few people, all their faces sort of anonymously distorted in a blur as she went, searching out a seat, but kept an eye on spot light of activity. Jayla was finally able to find a more casually intimate sitting area on what seemed to be the fringe of everything, populated generously with couples or groups, even a couple loners. It didn’t seem to be nearly as loud here as she settled herself in grouping of seats meant for more then one person, all seated around a very chic and carefully polished low table.
Crossing her long legs Jayla put down her glass carefully and took the cards from their box, shifting out the jokers then set them aside. Shuffling the cards she cast a slow and speculative eye around even if the same small pleasant smile remand, wondering if she could get enough people together to start a game of poker...It wasn’t exactly a first – enticing with a friendly hand or two just to get things rolling then seeing if money could be put down.

The theme song came on and it seemed that a few other people had dressed as rangers when the spotlights came on. He turned around looking at everyone and they all pointed to the guy in the psycho mantis outfit. He had a sudden urge to change his controller to port number two and kick the guys ass. But then he realized this wasn't a fight, this was a party. You danced at parties, even when people wanted you to fight. So he slowly made his way over to the beat of the song, and once he was in range he brought his fists up and yelled at the top of his lungs, "DO THE MONKEY WITH ME!" And began doing the monkey, Johnny Bravo style. He was hoping the other rangers would join in on doing the monkey, or even psycho mantis himself. A few people directly around him aside from psycho mantis had started to for the most part, but he knew if it didn't catch on it'd probably die out.

Kevin had found a spot to chill at, relaxing against the wall with his left leg over his right. However, he was far from wallflower status; there was a certain calm and swagger to the individual. At the time, he whipped out a touchscreen phone that he would access the internet from (like I'm doing now) when the "Rangers" had their call to arms. The theme music was enough to get Kev's attention...the giant Yellow Ranger had Kevin fixated.
The spectacle was strange, but cute to ol' Kev who was smirking by now. However, there WAS something to distract him---an interesting lil' number who was dressed like a DC variety pack. Huh. She'd taken her place nearby but not in any range for him to hear what she said to someone...and Kevin was NOT girlsavvy enough to make an approach. Oh well...eyecandy, right?

Mathew let the girl go when the dance was over, he wasn't to concerned with her leaving, it was a party and he was just mingling. So when she left to go on her way Mathew just found another girl to dance with, however soon it seemed the song would change to the Power Ranger theme song. Mathew just shrugged and went with it when the spotlight was on him. It seemed like the light guy was a moron who mistook Mathew in his gasmask for the Putty Patrollers. Mathew had to roll his eyes at that. Soon enough one of the Power Rangers, the Yellow one who was so giant it had to be Kenin came up to him. He had to wonder if the Yellow Ranger knew who he was with. Instead of fighting though the Yellow Ranger would start to do the monkey Johnny Bravo style. Well Mathew knew what to do with that. Cracking his neck quickly Mathew was ready, and soon enough he would join the Yellow Ranger doing the monkey! It wasn't long after him and the Yellow Ranger were getting down Johnny Bravo style that the song would change once again, this time back in to a dance song. When the song started he would break off from dancing the Monkey with the Yellow Ranger, and walk up on stage, to the DJ booth and take the microphone, motioning for the DJ to lower the music so it was playing softly. Reaching up Mathew would pull the gas mask over his face so that he could talk in to the microphone. "I would like to thank you all for coming tonight and I hope you are enjoying yourselves. I hope you are all having fun!" He said waiting a moment for the noise of the crowd cheering to subside before continuing. "I want to inform you all that tonight we will be having a costume contest, the winner will receive a $500 cash prize with runner ups getting $100 and $50 respectively. If you would like to enter the contest please give your name to the DJ here before midnight when the winners will be announced." He said before setting the microphone down and putting his mask back on, adjusting it and checking the seal once more to make sure it was all in place before he motioned for the music to be turned back to it's starting volume. Mathew himself would not be entering the contest seeing as how he was running it, but he suspected quite a few people would put in their names and stick around to see if they won the cash prize.

Vetis was a random kind of guy. Still this party was.... well for a bunch of hardened fighters around him they sure had an interesting choice of costume and music. Just the fact that there were a bunch of men wearing plum smuggling spandex power ranger costumes well yea that was truely a scary halloween costume.
"Vetis?" someone said to him with a voice rather unfamiliar. The sound of it was some one with a bit of a Foreign accent. He couldnt put his finger on it, danissh perhaps. He wasnt sure nor would one word give it away. Still the one word said a lot about this person. To recognixe him in this costume ment that recognized his frame, also rather creepy. Under his mask his eyes would move all though there would be no change in his stance. This person did not look familiar at all. Perhaps someone he knew pre-puberty. Still the fact they hadnt come oveer to start shit was comforting. So far it didnt seem like an enemy.
Adjusting himself from wallflower mode he would look at this stranger. If they knew him, truley knew him then they would know what needed to be done. How comforting it would be to have someone know how to get through to/with him.

I'm Pro-Marvel/DC Couldn't decide. “Superwoman, huh?... If anyone could pull it off, it would be you … Jayr.”
Jayr turned to Kiyoshi with a bright smile, a slight nod as she looked down to her costume, yeah no surprise she got her costumed characters mixed up she wasn't exactly the biggest comic book person but she read a few from time to time, obviously not enough to keep her character mesh-ups apart which'd make for interesting conversation if someone managed to bring it up. Next you'd see her compare the Green Goblin to the Green Lantern.
"Well thank you Don Kiyoshi."
Jayr would incline with a slight courtsy crossing her legs with the slight inclined bow as she caught onto his outfit. She had been a bit of a tomboy in youth and sat around the TV with her stepfather to adore the Godfather all too much, perhaps a bit of a fetish for the Italian mob at one point or another, something she'd more than likely choose not to admit.
“Might I have this dance m’lady?”
A bright smile as Jayr crossed the deviding barrier between them and offered her hand in reply.
"Lead the way."
A slight giggle as she kicked it, heading in the same direction to otherwise bust a move. A total nerd when it came to dance lingo feeling silly herself trying to become at all apt in that skill.
She'd dance for a short while before the Power Rangers broke out into what'd appear to be an impromptu challenge? A hand coming to her face out of slight embarrasment managing to laugh about it momentarily knowing the lot of them before settling aback and letting their host speak.
"I would like to thank you all for coming tonight and I hope you are enjoying yourselves. I hope you are all having fun! I want to inform you all that tonight we will be having a costume contest, the winner will receive a $500 cash prize with runner ups getting $100 and $50 respectively. If you would like to enter the contest please give your name to the DJ here before midnight when the winners will be announced."
Jayr would smile widely, competitions were always fun. Especially when there was that big of a prize at the end, hell if she won it meant a shopping spree. A warm grin crossing her features super excited for this before turning on Kiyoshi.
"So up to win!"
Quickly she'd pose for him for a second before reverting back to dancing.

A wide pleased grin formed on Kiyoshi’s face when Jayr accepted the offer, having to fight getting turned down would be no fun. Thus without hesitation he lead the way out onto the dance floor just in time to catch the later part of the Ghostbusters theme. He kept his movements rather simple and in line with the beat of the song showing some semblance of rhythm as he did. It was a weird feeling to be out dancing, not because he didn’t do it often, but because this was the first time he’d done so sober and outside of a rave.
Of course even with that, Kiyoshi paused when a song he’d never actually heard of came on. What the hell was a power ranger? Given the movement of the spotlight and the large yellow man that moved out toward it, he naturally assumed that was a power ranger since he knew Psycho Mantis. He couldn’t help but laugh as the large yellow started the monkey dance and was soon followed by Mr. Mantis. It was a sight when you thought about it, anywhere else with these types of people and that might have been a fight, but with the music and party atmosphere… hells no! However, during the little monkey dance segment Kiyoshi gave Jayr a playful nudge after noticing the embarrassed smile, which would get her attention while he busted into his own monkey dance with a goofy smile.
“Come on… monkey it.”
Either way the song eventually shifted to something that really brought him back to the rave days. Trance music… heh. Kiyoshi’s movements got a little larger than before while keeping in the rhythm of the pumping bass, something he would have been completely lost in during the past. However he was aware, hearing the declaration of the contest that he would not be entering simply because there was no way he’d win, however it seemed that Jayr had the opposite idea. She turned with a short exclaimation and then struck a pose…
… Kiyoshi froze for a moment and if his jaw hadn’t been attached by all that skin and muscle, it would have fallen off his face. He coughed lightly with a regaining of composure, hadn’t been expecting that. A grin formed as he got himself moving to the rhythm again while whistling suggestively at her. It wasn’t often that he froze like that. Back into the swing of things, he leaned toward her slightly so he didn’t have to shout over the music and be overheard.
“Damn sure got my vote… probably every straight man in here’s vote as well.”

Certainly were a lot of power rangers here. An unusually tall one was here as well. I was bewildered by the spectacle of people dancing to the theme song but I found myself joining in. It was so much fun. I tried not to do anything that would give someone the notion of its ok to dance with me, but the music was just so corny that I did not have to worry about that. After the power rangers the Johnny Bravo theme song came on. Someone sure liked there cartoons. I myself was an intimate fan of Johnny Bravo but that was a long time ago already. Still I found myself getting into it. "Do the monkey with me." i managed to let out at the appropriate moment.

"..." A blank stare on his face (though hidden from view by the helmet he wore), Kazuya stared in incredulity at the guy dressed as the Yellow Ranger as the guy raised his fists up and shouted for everyone to do the monkey, Johnny Bravo style. Sighing half in exasperation, half amusement, Kazuya gave in and decided to cut loose, just this once, and joined in doing the monkey with the other Rangers around him, letting a little of his inner kid seep out for once. Once the song had ended, Kazuya smiled slightly beneath his helmet, it was nice to be able to act like a little kid and not worry about people recognizing him. He then heard the music soften, as a voice spoke up, and saw it was the guy who was dressed as Psycho Mantis. A costume contest huh? What the heck, he figured it was worth a shot. Making his way through the crowd, making sure not to step on anyone's foot while avoiding flailing arms, he reached the stage, as he motioned to the DJ, who came over and bent down, so he could hear Kazuya. "What up oh fearless leader?" The DJ joked, as Kazuya smiled slightly from beneath his helmet, as he pulled his helmet up, enough that his mouth was free and he could talk. "Putting my name down for the contest, Kazuya Hikari." "Got it. Good luck Red Ranger." Nodding gratefully, Kazuya pulled the helmet back down once more, as the king of all Halloween songs began to play. Kazuya smiled slightly the moment he heard it, ah deja vu, he remembered dancing to this song back at Point Hope High. Making his way through the crowd, he inexplicably found himself being pushed by the tide of people to the center of the circle of people, as he froze slightly, and looked around, unsure of what to do at first, before relaxing. Ah what the heck, no one knew it was him under the helmet, as he began to break out into the Thriller dance, a few people joining in with him.

For a moment Kiyoshi froze hearing the intro to that classic of all classics, a large smile forming over his face at the sounds. It was time for THE THRILLER!!! He slowly strutted his way in classic Michael Jackson style toward the center of the dance floor, motioning for Jayr to follow. However this was going to be more of a show than anything because Kiyoshi definitely had at least the feet of a showman, if you get my meaning.
At the center Kiyoshi started the dance with more of a solo effort, his foot tapping to the beat as he started. Suddenly his hands jutted out to the sides as the lyrics started, shoulders rocking rhythmically, as he lip-synced to the words in a slightly exaggerated manner. He shifted one hand over his eyes though peering into the dark about the spreading crowd, students noticing the dance starting. From there his hands shot up toward the ‘moonlight’ before dropping quickly to clutch his chest ‘as something almost stopped his heart’. He gestured to the crowd again before wrapping his hands around his throat since ‘terror took the sound before he made it’. Moving around with another Michael Jackson strut to push back the front row of the crowd for the main part of the dance, gazing into several people’s eyes while gesturing to his own. He shifted to a backward strut, clapping his hands hard one the word ‘slam’. Continuing the strut around, he made another skyward gesture with the word ‘sun’. His eyes shut as he finally made his way back to the center where he started his dance. Feeling ‘a creature creeping up behind’ Kiyoshi back away from the crowd with a mocking scared expression, his lip syncing almost flawless. Arms extended out to the sides with palms pointed at the crowd as he wanted to keep the ‘demons closing in on every side’ at bay. The next moment saw Kiyoshi shift into a little dance that made him look like a ‘possessed’ puppet. A quick little spin and point before he wrapped his arms around his torso to cuddle while his hips and body swayed with the beat. The last bit was his outlining of the screen and the act of singing the last line with a clenched fist for emphasis.
With the spoken words of the song being played, Kiyoshi stood still with his feet set shoulder-width part, his arms folded neatly in front on him, and his head tilted down. Everyone would know what was coming next. The part known as the legit “Thriller Dance”. So now it was up to anyone who wanted to join to do so behind Kiyoshi, who as the person to start this whole dance would be doing the Michael Jackson part. It was a huge responsibility, which the young Japanese student was well up for as his mannerism and movements for the dance would be almost perfect. After all nobody could ever match Michael Jackson’s dancing… ever!
{OoC: so I didn't type out the rest of the dance... just watch the video. >_>}
