"Hope is hard to come by these days."
"Well my little bhatîjâ." He said with a wolfish smile that reached his eyes. Without even thinking he had addressed Spike using the hindi word for nephew. He put his hand on the boys shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "That's exactly what I'm here for. Now what exactly is this thing you just gave me?"
Marcus brought the strange palm sized treat up to his nose and gave it a tentative sniff. "Looks like....candy. Is it candy? It's candy isn't it. Do you have ANY idea how big my sweet tooth is? Why ARE you giving me candy at a time like this? Is this some sort of dragon thing? I mean it's not like I mind candy to begin with ya feel me. It's just kinda wierd you giving me candy right now." Marcus motored off, clearly entranced by the small bite sized piece of confection.

"Yes, its a kind of candy. My dad showed it to me. If you eat it, it should heal you."
Spike would shift uncomfurtably with how hyper Marcus seemed to be, and fold his arms. Leaving him shortly after with that he'd walk over to the coat and struggle to put it back on.

"Hey Cuz!"
Raikotsu shouted walking out of the crowd, he had been one of the eager spectators that had been watching the fight curious to see how it would end up. His uncle Leon was famed for his battle prowess even amongst the Sudeki family, and he was curious if his cousin had inherited his skills and Raikotsu wasn't disappointed.
"I see you have made a new friend here... Uhm... Is he ok?" He asked looking at the man who called himself Marcus with a look of combination of amusement, confusion, and Awe.

Marcus was running his tongue around the inside of his mouth by the time the newcommer showed up. He savored the sugary flavor and involuntarily giggled as a cooling sensation flooded his chest. Well it looked like the little Sudeki was right, he already could feel his hurts wash away.
From Candy of all things. Go figure.
Well it looks like neither of these guys have ever seen a big brawler looking dude nearly revert into a 10 year old boy over a piece of candy before. "Hey, try going months traveling the open road without so much as a lollipop in sight kiddo. It's been so long I almost forgot what sweet tastes like."
"And could you please stop staring at me like that. You're creeping me out kid." He said to Spikes cousin. This was seriously weirding him out. They both reminded him of Leon, each in thier own way.

Spike would turn towards the crowed. Seeing his cousin walk out he'd actually grow a smile. The Vanguard would approach and give his cousin a firm pat on the shoulder.
"Got back from your trial I see..."

Wiping the stupid look he now realized he was making at Marcus, he turned back to his cousin grabbing his opposite shoulder.
"Indeed, though was there really any doubt?"
Letting go of Spikes shoulder he offered a hand to Marcus to help him stand, not because he though he needed it but just as a kind gesture.
"Sorry bout my cousin there, he gets a little irrational at times and attacks with out thinking."
He said this casting a look at Spike that said 'I totally would have done the same thing.'

By the time Spikes cousin had turned back to him, Marcus had already dragged his lazy butt off the wooden floor and was brushing his pant legs off. Well, best not let a good offered hand go to waste though, so Marcus clasped the boys hand within his own rough paw and gave it a vigorous shake.
"Oh pshaw! He wouldn't be a Sudeki if he didn't and unfortuantly for me, that particular family trait has seemed to rub off on me as well."
Finaly releasing the boys hand, Marcus crossed his arms and seemed to be studying Spikes Cousin with an amused grin. How many more Sudeki's were there?
"You... It has alot to do with you actually. Your the one of the Legacies he left behind. Can you imagine the amount of trouble he gave me, and then split it up into multiple people... It becomes less than ideal. Yet at the same time its too soon to dispose of you."
Ah yes. Barkers words played back in Marcus' mind as he looked The cousin up and down. So here stands a total of THREE of Leons legacies. Unfortunatly it would be awhile before the third would be ready. He had the Sudeki swagger all right, but he could sense it in the boy, he wasen't anywhere near ready for what was to come.
"So whats your name kiddo? They call me Marcus. You probably haven't heard of me." He added with a wry grin.

Marcus' hand was solid and rough, like that of someone with that knew how to hold themselves in any kind of given situation they were thrown into. There must be some interesting stories locked up within this man in front of him.
"Ah, yes pardon me, the name's Raikotsu. I'm the son of, Kentler Sudeki, the younger brother of my Uncle Leon, and from the sound of things you know my uncle pretty well."
He was still sizing up this Marcus fellow, not quite sure what to take of him. One moment he is one of the biggest bad-asses that ever walked, to the next moment being a laid back fellow that seemed to go with the flow of things. Interesting style and one that Raikotsu happen to fall in at times.
"How exactly do you know my uncle? I heard you say something about being his pupil but I thought they all died."

As the Raikotsu spoke, Marcus began to slot him, Spike, Leon and Kentler into a family tree for him to rememeber. Now all he had to do was fill in the rest of the blanks. 'Heh, no more difficult that trying to keep my own damn family tree in order.' No small feet considering his family on both sides blanketed nearly the entire world, with the largest contingent in Canada, Australia, India and most of Europe.
"How exactly do you know my uncle? I heard you say something about being his pupil but I thought they all died."
"Ya know, funny thing about that. Before a few weeks ago I didn't even know there WAS more than just me out there. Leon Sensei never really talked about his personal life with me. Never really had the time. Anyway, I guess I was one of the lucky ones and Leon put his ability to survive anything into me. I seriously could have died hundreds of times growing up but......well I'm still here now right?"
Marcus then took a deep breath and prepared himself. It was STORY TIME! "Yeah, your uncle and I actualy go pretty far back now that I think about it. I was in my freshman year when Sensei was recruiting for a new group he had started up. Called it Katana. Now I wasen't looking to join anything but one look at his little cardboard cutout recruitment table and the bored expression on his face just made me......I dunno, like it poked my pride how he just didn't care at all if anyone signed up or not. Like he was too good for us or something. So I sign up of course along with four or five others and after half a year of training, I was the only one left who stuck with it. That was when Your Uncle took me under his wing."
Marcus finished with a shrug. "And the rest, as they say, is history."

Just hearing that he was his uncles pupil was impressive on its own, the fact that he SURVIVED the training told him that this man was definitely not someone you wanted to be on the seeing on the opposite end of a serious fight.
"My uncle IS a great man, and as soon as I get the chance I actually plan on asking him to train me. I am constantly told that I would be an idiot for trying to survive his training but I aim to be the best, so how better to become the best than be trained by the best. Wouldn't you say?"
He turned to look at Spike.
"What do you think? Do you think I have what it takes to survive your fathers training or are you with most everyone else in saying I'm just suicidal?"

Spike would listen to the two explanations and simply nod. Though he did it slowly.
"It's crazy, but you are the heir to the head of our clan. If you can't survive it, then you probably dont diserve it. Though I doubt even I could graduate my fathers training. I only took the basics from him and took off on my own training."

"Your faith in me is astounding."
Raikotsu said sarcastically with a slight chuckle rolling his eyes. But he knew that what he was saying was right, but at this time defeat isn't an option. Truth of the matter is he wanted to be a Dragon just like Leon and maybe even surpass him someday but he needed more training than he had right now. He was one of the few people that refused to believe that Leon was really dead, someone as powerful as his uncle doesn't just die without a trace.
"But I hear more support than discouragement so I'll take that as a 'yes go for it!' and so I will take you advice good cus!"
He said with a beaming smile on his face to hide away any uncertainties that were behind his facade.

As the cousins discussed family business, Marcus sat back and watched. Huh, here he thought Spike was next in line, having always assumed that Leon was the man in charge. It looks to him like the Sudeki Family was a hell of alot more complicated than he first realized.
"One thing I've learned." Marcus began to say as he smoothly brought himself up to his feet with an elaborate spin. "Is that once a Sudeki gets an idea in thier head, heaven or hell wont be able to stop them."
"So I say go for it kiddo. Cause nothing worth doing is ever easy."

Rai nodded.
"Exactly! Thank you my friend! My first plan is to find Leon, and see if he will train me, like he did you. That way I can be strong enough to take one the trials of becoming a Dragon."

"Good luck with that. Becoming a title'd Dragon was never appealing to me. I simply help them because my Father is one of them..."
Spike would rummage through his coat though he didn't find it. Shrugging he'd jump down from the stage. Walking towards The Peace Cafe.
"I have planning to do."
Spike would say as he left.
