Perhaps a bit stunned?
...Maybe a little bit. Because the next time he looked around, there were strange students sitting all around him and... well... uh, she had called through, and it was already past him. Five seconds to realize she'd just complimented him. Blinked. Slightly angry at himself for not accepting the situation sooner as it was..."..U-Uh... er.. thanks..." was the quiet mumble.
But aside from being a generally good, hardworking student, his eye could not keep itself off the... the... that doll.
In fact, he nearly missed the next question as well. Oh.. uh... behavior? Five seconds after the other boy, trying to get some mastery over himself, but his curiosities unable to keep themselves from exploding in him.. he shook his head. 'Behavior'..."Oh, uh... ja... Behavior is... I believe ze conscious or subconscious way ze mind responds to certain situations, varying on conditioning and/or past experiancez... I zink. And.. uh... examples of zis would be traumatic experiances that would result in a permanent twitch, maybe a memory of ze death of a loved one you could've saved if you vere not sucking on a lolipop, vich vould give ze afflicted a behaviorism to.. uh... be unable to eat ze lolipop ever again or zometing like zat... I tink."..Slightly nervous laughter. Silently, screaming at himself. Felt like he was receding back into his 'Jonathan' position here. Scratched the back of his head for a bit of emphasis..."Uh... uh... apologies in advance if I am confusing zis vith ze wrong ting or describing ze wrong ting..."---Had she written on the chalkboard with... nothing?

And here he was, still getting used to the doll. Burying his head down, he was determined to avoid looking at things, and make his mind sort of 'HOMFGROFLPWN' itself... if zat vas ze term.
Just a little bit rusty in classes...

Layla turned to the Chinese boy and sighed, his... answer could be right on an English class - however, this WAS AP Psychology.

Wow... a particularly long answer - his accent was a little peculiar though, and it took several seconds before every word etched information into her mind. She would sigh again.
... and Ms. Black seems to be a little pre-occupied.
"Mr. Chan, Affect can be linked to the word "Affection" or otherwise known as a persons emotions and feelings."
Then she turned to The German boy, Hmm... a very long answer.
"Very ... long answer Mr. Winters. It is correct, but to put it simply for everyone.. it is a person's... well... behavior and attitude." She giggled a bit. Shinichi though, now found his place on top of Delilah's head. If she tried to shake him off, he was stuck there like glue.
"Mou, Kuro-san~ Cognition is a person's sense of reason desu. So when you're reasoning with Reira-san to avoid a day in detention you're putting your mind to process a reason - an excuse - for not even trying to answer a simple question, desu."
"Don't be so mean, Shinichi." Layla said, adjusting a white glove so that it'd fit better. "So, we now know the mental processes behind our actions, thoughts and beliefs. However, how do people develop all these?"
The chalk began to write again, and it said:

Growth
Maturation
"When one develops, does one grow? When one grows, does one mature?" She asked, walking around the U shaped arrangement of chairs. The sound of her heel's tapping against the floor rung on the classroom. "Development is defined as a progressive series of changes that occur as a result of maturation and experience, it implies a qualitative change. For example, a young girl develops into a woman. Of course, she's still the same person - but she is different; physically and mentally."
She paused for a second.
"Though, like I have said much earlier - development follows a predictable series changes. Like when a baby reaches a certain month, he could be able to crawl - but you can never expect a child of such age to be able to walk by himself. Of course he has to go through rolling onto his stomach first, then crawling - Bottom line is, you can't skip the process."
She went behind Delilah and took the little blue-haired doll off her head, "Now, when you say 'Growth'... it's then defined as a continuous change and additive processes, it's more of a quantitative change: Like here in AP Psychology. I am adding to your knowledge... hence, quantitative."
Layla then sat at the empty desk next to Winters, "Lastly," she concluded, "Maturation involves time and age. You learn from experiences and mistakes, and thus you mature into a better person."
She crossed her legs and smiled at the class, "Now, for additional points in your grades - Describe yourself~!"

OOC: Short and sweet. MOVING THE CLASS ON.Er... "Unfettered" sat remarkably still. Thinking. How 'would' you describe yourself? ...Better yet, how would you describe yourself, without embarrassing yourself in front of peer's you had just met very recently? Technically, it shouldn't have mattered to him, but... his mind. His thoughts? That mentality. The last sanctuary that he KNEW was the only untouched thing on his body. A little grimace.
No, he shouldn't say anything. Should just keep quiet, and let the teacher maybe volunteer herself, or something. Seeing as how his life was---"...like vith all ze uzzer things... things I'd rather not say to anyon---" he mumbled out before he could stop himself. But instead of giving shock or embarrassment, or giving any sign that he'd actually talked in the first place, he kept his body still. Still like a statue.

There was silence. It was expected, after all it was the first class. They couldn't be comfortable seeing a cartoon character teaching them Psychology, of all decent subjects. "...like vith all ze uzzer things... things I'd rather not say to anyon---" Winters said, stopping himself before saying anything else out loud. Layla giggled, and sat at his desk. She looked at the clock and chuckled lightly, looking at Winters. " You seem afraid to describe yourself. Fine, I'll do it myself~"Layla faced the class from her seat, "So, in describing oneself... we use the dimensions of a human person, which is..."The chalk lifted itself again and wrote after what Layla said aloud. "Physical, Psychomotor, Cognative, Emotional, Social, Moral, Spiritual, and Behavioral."
The chalk then dropped to the floor and rolled itself to Layla's feet, where it was crushed by pink boots. "Using those descriptions, My name is Layla Clavering, I'm 5'4 in height, I have a problem with all the parts of my body below my waist, I have an Above Average IQ, in distress. Beside those, I'm a widow... who's also a kind and a devout christian. Other than those descriptions, I have an obsession with Anime."She giggled and stood, the sound of boots tapping on the floor and stood on the center of the classroom and leaned on the small table. "Okay, Homework." She started, "150 words for each of those dimensions describing you. So 150 times 8 equals to 1200, plus points for every 100 more; minus points for anything less than what is required."
