((OOC: This is a closed thread except for invites from Marcus. kthxbai!!)) Erik was waiting at his apartment. He was hoping that Marcus had gotten his message. He had said he was interested in starting a gang of people who could do parkour. Erik would say he was anxious to get into a gang but he figured it would be the best way to get help finding his brother. He hoped that he wouldn’t have another blackout during the interview. He had had one recently and he hoped that it was the last for a while. The last one was bad. He could hear someone talking in his voice. He was saying things that he would never even think of. Crazy paranoid things. It was just a bad dream he had told himself. He didn’t really believe that though. There was no time to think of that now. He need to get into this gang. He stood up and began pacing around the room. He grabbed a can of ravioli and started to eat. His food situation was getting rather desperate as he would only scavenge around where he lived for fear of going to far and not finding his way back again. Or worse that he would black out and wake up somewhere he had no place being. He finished his can of ravioli tossed it out the window.

{OOC} I'm going to assume that by 'his appartment' you mean the burned down one. Don't be afraid to correct me if I'm wrong ^_^. {OOC}
It was a cold windy night out. The only clouds in the sky hovered around the moon like a hazy curtain, revealing a blanket of bright dots in the sky. Without the heavy light pollution infamous during the time before the great fall, the night sky had opened up and now one didnt have to travel to the ass end of nowhere to see thousands upon thousands of stars. The effect stopped Marcus cold and dazzled him the first time he had seen it while on the long and lonely road from New York to California.
Lady's throaty roar cut through the silence of the city as the man rode on, His Bomber Jacket zipped up tight as he watched the world from behind his riding goggles. His mane of reddish brown hair flapping freely behind him in a spastic flurry of motion. Earlier in the day, he had been farting around crow territory trying to aquire some rare tools when a Militia runner had stopped him to hand him a letter from an old friend.
"Erik? I don't know anyone named Erik......wait......Erik Masters.....Oh, RABBIT!" Light a lightbulb going off, recognition dawned behind Marcus' eyes. Eyes that would then immediatly tear into the rest of the letter like a wolf to a bone. It seemed he was doing alright which left him relieved. He was a good kid. Strong and skilled but there was just something about him, a small mental quirk that made him unstable. Something to do with his brother. Either way, Rabbit wanted to meet up and Marcus was more than happy to obligue!
Pulling up to the old burned up building, Marcus couldnt stop himself from grimacing. he HAD offered the boy a safehouse awarded to him by Unfettered and the Crows. Why didn't he use it? It would have been ten times better than sleeping in the husk of a burnt out building. As if on cue, just as Marcus finished that thought a small object could be seen being thrown from one of the windows that still had light leaking from it like an old wound. The entire place gave him the creeps despite his formidable prowess. To be honest, he reveled in the idea that spooky things could still make his skin crawl. He always did worry about becomming jaded.
Parking Lady up onto the driveway, blanketing her within her protective Camo Tarp, Marcus began to walk towards the main door and punched in Rabbits room number and waited for the door to unlock. IF the electronics still worked, Rabbit should be getting a buzz, signaling him to remotely unclock the door. Despite the building being a mess, it didnt mean Marcus had to be rude and go the back way now did it?

Having heard the noise of a motorcycle Erik took no chances and put the small fire out that he was sitting next too. Hopefully whoever was riding by wouldn’t feel the need to investigate what was going on in the old apartment. He heard the engine of a bike turn off. Not a good sign. He moved as quietly as possible to the bedroom and closed the door. He jammed some debris under the door wedging it closed. He hoped whoever had stopped wouldn’t investigate to hard and the jammed door would deter them. Suddenly he heard a half crackle half buzzing sound of the door bell. I didn’t even know that still worked, he thought to himself. That has to be Marcus. No one trying to investigate would ring a door bell. He freed the door and moved to the panel on the wall. The scorch damage was bad and it had been a while since he had used it. He started to hit buttons. He accidently activated the intercom. “Stupid thing! Why wont you just work!” he punched the panel on the wall causing a which tripped the switch to unlock the door. “Well I guess that’s how you do that now.” He was more talking to himself then anyone else. HE had taken to doing that lately as he spent most of his time by himself. He opened the door slightly and went back to the fire. There were still a few embers glowing in it so he threw some paper on it and began to build the fire again. His paranoia was increasing lately as well. Maybe it was the fact that he was by himself that made him paranoid but lately every so often he could swear he would hear someone talking to themselves in the other room. “I really need to get out of here. Im starting to see and hear things that aren’t there.” Hopefully Marcus would be able to help him with that. He would have used the safe house but he didn’t feel comfortable going there by himself. Who knows when he would have a black out and if he had one there…..Well, its best not to think about those kinds of things. He had the fire going pretty well and he moved to clean off a chair so Marcus could sit with him.

{OOC} www.listenonrepeat.com/watch/?v=OjFrfCRGJh4^ Spooky Apartment? This is SO the theme for this thread. {OOC} Hearing nothing for a good long while, Marcus let out a low sigh. The light he had seen in the window had suddenly gone out. "Common Rabbit, It's me, Marcus!" He shouted, hoping that would kick the little bunny's tail into high gear. He didn't like this area, not at all. The silent rundown streets and dilapidated buildings easily looked like something straight out of Silent Hill. It didn't help that every noise emminating from the alleyways echoed, making it hard to tell what exactly was comming from where, as every shattered window seemed to hide a shadowy figure. Hell, Marcus could almost swear he was being watched despite his honed sences telling him otherwise. With shoes on the ground, he found himself looking over his shoulder more than once. Marcus damn near almost jumped out of his skin when he heard the intercom squawk. The heavy static and distortions made it hard, but he thought he could recognise Rabbits voice. Glad that Silk was nowhere in sight, she wouldnt let him hear the end of it, he straightened himself out, crossed his arms and waited till he finaly heard the loud click that would tell him he could finaly go inside. Oh how he wished he hadn't. Marcus had forgotten that the building was gutted in a fire and the effects nearly made him cringe. The walls were scortched black with small islands of wallpaper still poking through. The floor creaked terribly and the carpets were blackened and mouldy. A set of stairs wound thier way to the second floor and yup, they creaked. And cracked. "Rabbit? Man I better not find you rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere with foam comming out of your mouth or something! I would NOT appreciate that right now!"

He heard the voice coming from the hall and immediately went to the door and opened it. Had he heard a bit of apprehension in Marcus voice? He poked his head out into the hallway. “Sorry about the delay. Didn’t even know that buzzer still worked.” He stepped back inside and leaving the door open for Marcus. “I wasn’t sure that you would actually get my message. Just wanted to talk more about that gang you said you wanted to make. I’m am still interested in joining if your still interested in having me.” He hesitated for a second. Marcus knew he had certain issues he was trying to deal with. Maybe with the help of a few other people he could finally figure out what had happened to his brother. Plus he kind of needed a new place to stay. He had been hearing more traffic coming by lately and he was concerned that maybe some gang had noticed his presence and were moving in to rob him or worse. He was also hoping that maybe if he was around more people that the black outs would stop completely. Erik gestured towards the chair. “Have a seat. Do you want anything to eat or drink?” He held up a dented cup and a can of green beans.

Marcus looked from the dented can, to the beans and back again before taking a deep breath and letting out a carefully level "Errrrrrm, no thank you." Not wanting to insult Rabbits hospitality despite the fact that he REALLY didn't want what was in those tin cans. Pulling up the seat that Rabbit offered, Marcus eased himself into a comfortable position. "Oh I got your message just fine." He said with a dismissive wave. "Here's what's bugging me though, Didn't I offer you new digs? Cause DAYUM man! This place looks like it could collapse any minute." Marcus wasen't upset or anything. He was just worried for the little guy. This wasent exactly the best neighborhood for a lad who seemed to be as mentaly unstable as Rabbit was.
His plan was to throw Erik into one of the safe houses that was owned by the crows, but now with the advent of his compound and his plans on using it to establish 'New' Providence, well, who needs a safe house when you're getting ready to set up a whole new town?
"I'm glad to hear you're still planning on sticking with me man. With piecing Providence back together, I'm sure I have a house I can throw you're way. Plus I have fresh water and Food. No more dented tin cans. Now on the flip side of this, that meant I unfortunatly haven't had the opportunity to put feelers out on the search for your brother and to that, I apologize. I know you said you didnt want to involve yourself in this fight with Barker and I respect that. Unfortuantly, I have involved myself, which means I just don't have the resources to put into this."
Marcus paused to let this all sink in. He felt bad for Rabbit, he knew he sounded like he was giving up on the lad. Well good thing he wasent then!
"So this is my thought process. If I cant help you find your brother, then I'm going to train you instead. So that you can be strong enough to set out yourself with the tools and knowledge nessisary to survive out there. And if I come into contact with potential leads, I'll send them you're way."

Message flagged Wednesday, September 26, 2012 10:48 AM “Not a big deal. People get busy. I haven’t been out looking for him much myself. Ive been trying to get my…issues under control.” He put the cans back in the cupboard. A new house might actually do him some good. He hadn’t figured out what was causing his black outs but maybe a change of scenery would do the trick.
”I kind of figured if he hasn’t come back by now he probably isn’t going to come back. Don’t get me wrong I haven’t given up. I just think that whoever has him probably wants to keep him otherwise he would have come back by now. Your training should help out too I’m sure.” He was curious to see what this training would involve. It had been a while since he had done any real exercising and from what he could tell there probably wasn’t too many people who were as good as Marcus. “We can start the training anytime. It’s not like my schedule is full or anything.”
He walked over and sat in a chair opposite Marcus. “As far as the apartment goes…” he looked around slowly. “It is what it is I guess. It’s somewhere to stay and its relatively dry when it rains. Plus it’s got a great view of the neighborhood.” Ok maybe “great view” was a little bit exaggerated. Outside the window you could see the skyline. Of course there were places where broken and burned buildings were blocking the view but he couldn’t complain. “Where is this place that you will be rebuilding? I would like to meet these “Crows” that you are talking about. If they are willing to accept me with my issues they must be good people.” He was still wary of getting involved with a gang as the only contact he had had with any was when they would drive through the neighborhood and stop to rummage around in the broken shops. “What exactly would I be doing for the ‘Crows’? I’m not too comfortable with doing anything illegal.” He laughed for a second. He knew that there was no government anymore. He had found that out the first time he met Marcus. Without a government there were no laws, but the thought of doing anything amoral still didn’t sit well with him.

Marcus nearly burst out laughing when Rabbit expressed his concerns about the legality of Crow operations. Instead he arched an eyebrow and smirked. "Well it's not like we're selling babies on the black market here or shaking our own citizens down for money. I think I know what you're getting at though, so let me reassure you. We are NOT just another band of thugs trying to carve our own spot in the world. What we are, are freedom fighters against a tyrant who destroyed everything you know and love. Our primary objective is two-fold. End Sean Barker and rebuild our civilization."
"Now here's where things get alittle sticky. If you DO want in, I can vouche for you. BUT! And sorry kiddo, this is a rather big but, not until we get your blackouts under control. If I'm going to have you standing in the rank and file or god forbid you DO pass muster for this little plan I have in my head, than I need to know you're at least well enough in the head that you wont bug out and start chasing imaginary ghosts. So step one, we find your brother. Mabey then we might be able to put you're head to rights. After that, if I think you're up to snuff, then you'll be working for the crows, answerable to everyone above you, which will be.....just about everyone."
Marcus leaned back in his precariously creaky chair after finishing his little spiel, his mellow brown eyes locked on Rabbits face as his mouth twisted into a wry grin.
"Who knows. Do well enough and I might even start calling you by your given name. Mabey. Kinda fond of 'Rabbit' myself."

Upon hearing this phrase Erik immediately stopped poking the fire with a stick. He rubbed his temple. Every time he thought about his brother he could swear he heard someone whispering in his ear. He could never understand what they were saying but as soon as he tried to focus on the voice it would stop. My imagination is really getting the better of me lately, he thought to himself. He turned to face Marcus.
“I will do everything that I can to try and get the blackouts under control. The only problem is that they don’t really have a pattern. Sometimes I bump my head and wake up somewhere else. Other times I just blackout for no reason and next thing I know I’m not anywhere near where I remember passing out.” He purposely didn’t mention the whispering he had been hearing lately or the feeling of someone pushing on his consciousness. “So I guess the very first step is to figure out what actually is causing this. Obviously it is associated to the feeling I have for my brother.” He put his hand to his head again. This time the whispering was more insistent. He shook his head slightly to clear it. “Also I have zero leads on where my brother could be. I haven seen or heard anything about him since a few months before I met you. I supposed the rational thing to do would be to assume he is dead and move on with my life.” He paused for a second pushing done the feelings of despair that always accompanied those types of thoughts. “I just don’t think I can do that till I find him or find his body. I suppose its about time I actually get out there and actively look for clues as to where my brother is. Haven’t really been doing that much investigating of late. Kind of been enjoying not having blackout.” Not like I had been making that much progress anyway he though to himself. Maybe with Marcus around he would have more luck or at the very least he wouldn’t black out every time he found something potentially useful.

Marcus had to admit, the more he learned about Eriks mental landscape, the more he felt pity for the poor lad. He himself couldn't even begin to imagine having so little control over his own mind like that.
"Well Rabbit, like my momma always said, she said 'Marcus, the fastest way to finish anything is to start it'. So here's what we are going to do. First, I'm getting you out of here and bunking you up in the compound I have back in New Providence. Now you said something about guys in suits right? Well I say we go pay the Military cordon a visit and see what we can see. Hows that strike ya?"

“Well I suppose I should start picking the things that are necessary.” Erik walked over to the cupboards and began to fill his shopping bag with cans of food. “No reason I should let this go to waste.” After packing all the cans into the bag he moved over to the bedroom. He grabbed the few pairs of socks he had and the picture of him and his brother. “I don’t remember ever getting that close to any of Barkers compounds. Of course that doesn’t mean I have been there before. I’m kind of nervous about getting that close to a compound. What if I black out? What if they spot me and recognize me? What if...” He trailed off at the end of the last sentence. What if they had Ryan working for them now? he didn’t want to say it out loud. He heard the whispering again. This time the other consciousness was pushing even harder. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. The more he thought about his brother the harder he felt the pushing. It was probably about time he got out of this apartment anyway. It couldn’t be helping his mental health by staying in his old apartment. Plus if he ever wanted to join the crows he would have to move. He finished packing his belonging and turned to Marcus. “I’m ready whenever you are. Just lead the way.”

And with that, Marcus nodded and slapped his hands against his knees before rising to his feet. Marcus would then walk with Rabbit, one hand on the young man's back as he guided him down the winding corridoors, the stairwell and out the door. "Trust me Rabbit, you're making the right choice. The compound is quite literaly one of the safest places you can be. Well....unless the cat decides your its new chew toy, then you're pretty much screwed. I'll have to introduce you to the team as well, then get you set up with a bunk be- Hold it!"
The man had been speaking excitedly before, but suddenly changed into a sharp commanding tone for that last bit. He put a hand out infront of Rabbit to stop him, tapped him on the chin with a finger to get his attention and put that same finger to his lips. He then froze in place, only moving his head, twisting it back and forth like a wolf who had just caught the scent of something. Or in this case, heard a noise that sounded suspiciously like a knife being pulled out of a sheath. Closing his eyes, Marcus began to concentrate. It was much to dark to see, so he would have to rely on his other senses now.
The wind began to pick up now, blowing through the cracks and holes and fluted places in the buildings around them, making an eerie moan that fluttered around Marcus and and his new ally. After a moment or two of this, Marcus unfroze himself and took Rabbit by the shoulder and began to speed walk towards his precious chopper.
"Quicky, put you're things in the saddlebags, just be careful with whats in there already." He hissed in Rabbits ear before pushing him towards the rear of his Harley where the saddlebags were located. Warm friendly Marcus was gone. In his place was Serious Business Marcus and he was NOT happy with the idea of being stalked by something. Swiftly he fished into his jacket pocket for his keys. 'Hell, at least this time I actualy know something's out there.'

[OOC: Sorry for the short post. Its been busy and I haven’t had time to get on so I figured I would post something while I had the chance.] Erik took his bags and placed them carefully in the saddle bags. The urgency in Marcus voices caused him to be slightly alarmed. “What’s going on? Did you see something?” He stood by the motorcycle and slowly scanned the surrounding area. He couldn’t make out any differences. Of course the last time he had been out the front door had been a good month ago. “I didn’t hear anything. I don’t see anyone either. He walked over to the front door of the apartment building and pulled the door closed. He knew he didn’t need to close the door but he felt that if he closed it the reality that he was leaving this place would set in for him. He turned to Marcus. “I’m ready to go now.” He said keeping his voice low so as not to alert anyone with in hearing range of there intent to leave.

"Good! Getcher butt in gear, I want to get the hell out of this place."
By now he was already mounted on Lady, her engine purring from between his legs. He could just see something out in the darkness. A sort of shadow within a shadow that danced just beyond the edge of the light from the streetlamps. Marcus counted his lucky stars that Rabbit hadn't bolted yet. He figured it was best to get moving before that changes.
"Ok Rabbit hold on tight and for the love of god keep your hands and feet inside the ride and do NOT leave your seat until it comes to a complete stop."
He wouldn't head straight for the compound. That'd just be dumb with someone on his trail. Instead he would almost run in a wide circle around the area, cutting dangerously through narrow alleyways and making turns almost at random before spilling out of the main road that would take him toward home base.
"Hey Rabbit?" Marcus would shout behind him to make his voice heard over Ladies throaty roar. "Remind me again what the hell was chasing you when we first met."
Might as well start somewhere.

“I don’t really know. I just have flashes of shadow figures. Nothing really solid to go on. Whenever I black out I don’t really keep much of the memories from when the other one is in charge.” He shouted back. He wasn’t sure if the figures were even real. For all he knew it could be delusions. Hallucinations. Maybe the next time he had a black out he would try and keep some of himself awake to remember more. He would prefer to not black out at all but he knew that wasn’t going to happen for a while. There were some serious issues he had to take care of.
Right now however he was just happy to be getting away from all those bad memories. Though a part of him wanted to stay in the apartment forever a larger part knew that he wouldn’t be able to survive forever on his own. The next thing he had to worry about was if he had a black out in the Crows territory if they would just kick him out of even worse. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. We haven’t even actually gotten to talk to anyone, except Marcus, from the Crows. Hopefully the had somewhere he could stay that would be a little ways away from the main population in case he did have a black out.
