As she dropped he leaped, his knee rising up to slam in to her jaw and stop her attacks from even happening. Should that happen he would clasp both fists together when he landed and attempt to smash them down on top of possibly dazed Olesya's head.
If she had still followed through with the punches they would land unopposed. A girl had to vent her hatred somehow. He wasn't concerned with taking blows, he never was.

Just as she dropped to sweep his legs out from under his feet, he jumped, catching her in the jaw with his knee. Good thing her tongue wasn't near her teeth or she would have bit right through it. Still, her teeth clanged together and she cringed, falling onto her back.
As he put his fists together to hammer down on her head, she would roll to the side, his fists meeting dirt instead of her skull. She pushed with her elbow as she rolled, moving onto her knees into a crouch: one foot on the ground one knee on the ground. She had only just begun to vent her anger.
Launching from her crouched position, she would aim a roundhouse kick to his ribs.

As his hands hit the ground and Olesya launched herself at him small pillars of Earth erupted from the impact zone, slamming in to Olesya to prevent her from reaching him at the moment! Mathew would just stand up.
"Feel better yet? Or you want more?"

"Of course not."
She snarled at the 'feel better yet' comment. They had hardly even started. To prove her point she kicked the little pillars down, stepping over the rubble toward her adversary.
"Killing Barker won't even begin to avenge what he took from me. What you all took from me."
She launched herself at him again, aiming another punch at his face.

"And what did I take from you?"
He asked in a grunt as she slammed her fist in to his face, his hand reaching out to grip her hair through the bandanna, yanking toward him to make her stumble forward in to another knee slam.

When he gripped her hair through her bandanna to slam her face into his knee, it slipped off her head and into his hands. She brought her hands up to cushion the blow of his knee to her face. As the bandanna slipped from his grasp she stumbled backward away from him. Sunlight hit her stark white hair as it flew around her face, framing her features in wild fury.
"My friends! You all abandoned me when I needed you. Some nights I wondered if you all even existed in the first place. Do you know what it's like to be driven mad by your own thoughts? To forget who you even are? To be so utterly and totally alone in this fucking world?"
Her voice shook, and her eyes shined in their mismatched glinting hues.
"Well I do."
She launched herself at him again, looking as though she were going to aim a punch for his face again. At the last moment she shifted, aiming a kick to his left kneecap instead.

He was prepared for the punch to the face again, so when the kick landed on his knee cap his leg buckled from the blow. She really was a strong girl. But he wasn't going to go down. It would take more than one swing of the ax to fell this tree.
In response to her kick his hand shot out, looking to grasp her throat. Should he connect he would squeeze, not hard enough to crush her wind pipe. But enough to put a little pressure on her and get her heart racing. He really wasn't going all out on her after all. He had no desire to destroy her.
"If you lost grip on your reality that is not something you can lay on us. Get a grip on yourself Olesya, you didn't used to be so pathetic that you would blame your problems on others."
He was disappointed in that. She wasn't the girl he remembered. The unbreakable girl with a heart that might have been two sizes to big. No, this girl in front of him was a stranger, and that broke his heart a little.
Assuming he had her throat he would push back and push her away from him. His head shaking in disappointment.

Olesya stopped immediately as his hand closed around her throat. She gagged slightly, coughing at the pressure. Her eyes flew open wide and she stared at him. His words stung, there was a thread of truth to them. Sure there were forces far outside her control, but she once believed that life was what you made of it.
And what did she make of it now?
She was a "mother," the guardian of a little girl from her past who had no familiy. Olesya's own family was missing, presumably...no, she couldn't even think it.
She coughed again as he pushed her away from him. His heart would break even more if he had known what she had been through these last seven years.
"You don't know me anymore, do you? I see it in your eyes. You can't even begin to know what I've been through, Mathew. I'm more myself now that I was a couple years ago. After you left, after everyone left...I became the one thing I swore to protect the world against. I became a monster."
Her voice shook and her gaze fell to the ground between them. Her fists clenched so tight that her knuckles turned white.
"I hurt people for fun. I manipulated them and tortured them all for my own gain. I didn't even know who I was a-anymore. The chemicals, the experiments...they changed me."
She gripped her stark white hair with both hands, her mismatched gaze flying up to meet his.
"I thought I had gotten out scot-free! Barker, that cunning fuc...he managed to get me afterall."

"So you became just like me."
He wasn't happy about that. He knew he wasn't that good of a person. A monster might be an apt term for it. He hurt people for fun, because he could. He enjoyed it, one of the reasons he came up with his own honor code was to challenge himself to stay within it. The Dragons helped with that. Woe to the world if he ever stopped.
But Olesya was supposed to be different. She was supposed to be better than him morally. He didn't even bother to try and hide it. He was just shocked.
"I'll add your name to the list then Olesya."
He said solemnly with a nod of his head.

Her eyes flashed at the 'just like me' comment. Mathew had done some bad things, very few of which Les knew about, but there was a thread of good in him. The bad boy with the heart of tarnished gold...it was why she was drawn to him all those years ago.
"I was supposed to be a role model. A hero. I was a pillar. I was tall and strong and...a-and good."
She clenched her fists so tight that her nails dug crescents into her palms.
"S-Sometimes...I lose control. I just lose it...and I'm right back there."
There had been a couple people she killed since leaving the halfway house. Two on the way back to Long Beach, and a couple since then. Some had been in self defense, but some had been accidents. A thug trying to jump her for her supplies, two of Barker's bandits on patrol, a strung out hobo near the old school...
"I'm afraid one day I'll wake up and everything I've worked to get back...will be gone again."

He stared at her, listening to her words. That frown still etched in to his face. He couldn't imagine how rough it would be to not be in control of his own mind. The emotion he felt strongest right now was a rare one for him. Pity. He felt pity for Olesya, which made him feel worse. He used to admire the girl. It was an uncomfortable shift for him to feel. Not only because he was having his perception changed, but he also didn't like feeling pity or guilt. He wasn't used to those feelings.
"Come with me. We will take care of you and get you back on your feet."
He held his hand out. An offer from that string of good that was often times buried deep within him. But she always did have a way to bring that part out. For a time at least.

Olesya pulled back from him slightly, hesitant in trusting him.
"Who? Where?"

"That depends on your preference. I take take you with me to Dragon Territory. I'm still the Earth Dragon, and an Elder there. Or if you are more comfortable in Mount Olympus you would have your choice of Norse, Egyptian, or Greek companions."
He paused with a small smile.
"Jarl Amtrum, Pharaoh Amtrum, Aries The God of War. Take your pick."
He collected titles like Leon collected scars.

Olesya frowned, her brow furrowing. She srew back from his further.
"You can't just come in here and try and sweep me off my feet like not even a day has gone by since you last saw me. I'm not a damsel in distress. I have a home, I have responsibilities. I may be mad but I have things...people who keep me sane."
Maddie, Youichi, David, August...well, David and August were with the Dragons now too. Would it really be so bad to join them? Now that the initial shock wore off, it did make some semblance of sense to join the Dragons and take refuge in their territory. However, the Crows had treated her well thus far. She had no reason to distrust them.
Perhaps she could have property in both places. The house in Crow territory and a place in Dragon territory. A Crow Dragon (hah, that just sounded silly). Outwardly, Olesya paused, her gaze falling somewhere between Mathew and herself. Her expression became blank as she mulled this over in her head.
"I've got baggage."
She finally spoke after a couple minutes, her tone having lost its biting edge and was more thoughtful. She looked back up at him, her mouth in a grim line. Would Youichi want to move? Probably, because August was with David in Dragon territory. Would Maddie want to move? Though she didn't doubt that Maddie would want to come with her, she worried that Maddie wouldn't want to leave her friends that had been adopted by Crow families. It was too dangerous to bring a ten year old back and forth over territory lines.

"Obviously it's been more than a day. Things have changed."
He was engaged, she was crazy. So both of them had their stuff to deal with. The world had changed and both of them changed with the world. But, she was still one of the few people he actually wanted to help.
"Bring your baggage."
It was as simple as that.
