"The girl needs to practice aiming under pressure. The Russian isn't bad, the silk thread is good against a normal person. And they work well as a unit. But Barker has freaks like me with him. As it is now, I wager half of them die."
She would sigh, looking grim faced. Harsh, but this was something she knew deep in her heart. Seven months was a long time to be vigorously training, but for what was planned for them, they wouldn't have a great chance at making it. Still, she appreciated the unbiased honesty. And even though they didn't know it yet, she was sure her team would as well.
Another good thing she had discovered about the fight: it would make them thirsty for more, to get better.
It might even make them easier to train. She deliberately picked the misfits of the Crows, the ones no one could find a place for, liked or wanted to work with because they were too unstable. Where they were now was a far cry from how they were when she recruited them to her little project, but it was obvious they still needed work. After tonight, Delilah thought that she could use a boost as well.
"I appreciate that. Thanks again, Mathew."
"So, how do I contact you when and if I am ready to take you up on your offer?"
Give a little whistle~
"Just leave a note at this address." she would pull a pen out of her pocket as well as an old receipt to scrawl some numbers on the back. "I'll send someone by to check twice a day. The second I get it, I'll be there. You have my word.
"Barring, of course, Barker bombing the shit out of our base. Then I may need a day to get my shit together."
provided I even live.
