John had apparently gotten himself into a pretty tight pickle with this one. Backed into a corner, surrounded, everything seemed to deafen. His hammer lay feet from him as the expiraments seemed to leap from the buildings and windows surrounding him, and the barker soldiers on the ground simply charging at him.
They appeared to be moving in slow motion, but John let loose the empty can of brimstone Delta from his hand as it slid away slowly.
~Should I let it end here?~
He contemplated as his head rolled back looking up at the shadow slowly taking over his form. The barker soldier right in front of him, lifting a large rather harsh looking weapon into the air.
~Can I afford to let this be the story they tell of me?~
The barker soldier swung downward as a red light began to melt its limunescence through his eyes as if breaking through some invisible sheet of glass. Super heated air slowly rising as the weapon comes down before his entire body is consumed by fire. Flaring up and deflecting the weapon.
From the fire swirl bursts forth a gloved fist, as John rose from the flames, catching the barker soldier in a sloppy and tired uppercut..
"Come on then... I dont have all day."
He heard it before he knew what to do about it, one of the expiraments had teleported behind him, he stepped back into the expirament throwing his elbow back catching it in the ribs, before twisting and push kicking the expirament away.
Another jumping onto his back and dragging him backwards, holding him still. The expirament John kicked away rushing, leaping and teleporting reappearing at the point of kicking him in the stomach, just under his chest guards protection.
The expirament on his back letting go as he tumbled to the ground. Looking up he'd see the expiraments readying another attack, and his hammer. Pushing off the ground he'd make a rush for the expiraments the teleporter vanishing as John reached them, the one left throwing a hook, as John dived away, catching it off guard as he rolled to the hammer, just having time to peek when the teleporter appeared in the air right above and behind him.
John would find his hammer reacting with insane speed with one of the abilities striking the sharp end into the expiraments chest, right at the base of the neck. Slamming that expirament to the ground, John would look to the other. It was rushing him having no care for his fallen comrade. John would simply twist around bringing the hammer around him with that same alarming speed smashing the blunt end this time into its side, hurling it into the building.
Feeling as though he had forgotten something he felt a hard impact from behind. Sending him spraling to the ground though keeping hold of his hammer. John realized he had forgotten the barker soldier.
Flipping over onto his back in time to catch the bat coming down at him with the handle of the hammer, he'd struggle with that for a second before recieving a swift kick to his ribs. Not hurting so much just yet as he had his chest guard, but his blocking was becoming more labored.
As the next kick came in, and the next, and the next, and finally on the kick after that he'd sweep his foot out in an attempt to trip the barker soldier. Successful the barker soldier would land on his side, where John would once more swing the hammer with the speed as of before.
"Strike of Vulcan!"
He'd say this time as the sharp end of the hammer met with the side of the head of the helmet and masked barker soldier...
John took the luxury of three good breaths before getting up. Looking around at the battlefield, he felt drained, exhausted. Bleeding for sure from multiple wounds, and bruised... Though the ten barker soldiers and five expiraments that lay scattered about the battlefield he felt it was an even trade. However he also knew this showed his limit.
Falling to his knees the hammer still imbedded in the helmet of the barker soldier. He began to simply let everything hit at once. The battle, his limits, the injuries. The loss of life even. This was his daily life anymore. Reaching up he'd move the mask away from his face, simple putting it on the side of his head. He had been doing this work for so long now, it was finally starting to pick apart his resolve.
