Mathew notes a lack of distance on his tremor sense from normal, but it is at least the size of a decent room. He senses nothing...

Rai is prepared!

Kyrie can hear something like... scratching on some sort of mattress.

Shugo is up front! Whats he gonna do about it?

Putting Shugo out for the slaughter, how thoughtful. Shugo knew that Mathew would be thinking the same thing. The boy would take point and keep vigilant as he walked ahead of the group. Shugo would adjust his vambraces out of a bit nervousness as they moved along.

"Do you have any idea where we're supposed to be going or are we just shooting in the dark?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Though Kyrie blinked at the apparent stupidity of the person she didn't even know - perhaps his qi was more useful than stone as a shield? - she focused on teh sound she was hearing.

"Mathew. Something sounds like scratching against a mattress. I cannot place it."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Yup."

He would give him directions to where the center hub should be.

And now that he wasn't taking point he would fall back a few feet to let Shugo have some room. Since he offered. And assuming Shugo continued on the correct path he would follow and keep his eyes and ears open for trouble so he wasn't caught off guard.

He would try and listen for the sound that Kiyr told him about. Seeing if he could place it. But he put a hand on her shoulder to show that he heard her.

Kyrie can follow the direction of the sound! It's... Under her.

Mathew's bare feet suddenly feel a grated hollow floor.

Rai heard what Kyrie had said and joined at her side listening as well, trying to hear the noise. But what ever would happen he was sure to stay by her side, no sense in losing his fellow apprentice and only rival in area like this.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr smacked her hand quickly but quietly on top of Mathew's as soon as she figured out where the sound was coming from, took his hand within hers, and pointed downwards after overlapping her hand on his.

She let go immediately after.

[Mathew Amtrum]

He nodded and shifted some of the stone around his torso down his leg to coat the bottom of his feet now that they were on a grated metal surface. The blade of stone from his right hand would extend out and turn in to a hook.

He let out a small hiss to get Shugo's attention as he hooked the stone through the grate and pulled upward to try and open it up. They might have a visitor following them.

Mathew opens it, and with the clearer view there seems to be... A red light down below, from what Mathew can remember of the layout it would be some sort of torture room, or battle arena like when he was forced to fight the 100 expiraments.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr peers down to see what she can see with the red light.

Rai would look at Matt.

"What do you think is down there?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"It's probably the battle arena where he makes the experiments fight. Or the torture room. It's been a while."

He closed the grate.

"We press on for now. We will clear them out once we make sure there is no structured reinforcements heading our way."

So that turned out to be nothing. Shugo would press on. He was slightly suspicious as to why they hadn't seen any enemies yet. Feeling like their luck was about to run out, Shugo would begin to ignite the Steam Golem's power.

"Be careful... It's been way too easy to get this far."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Well to be fair there is probably like 100 pissed off experiments looking to hurt someone under our feet."

Just saying!

[Kyrie Blaze]

"A trap worthy for anyone dumb enough to jump down there."

Kyrie tilted her head, focusing on the tunnel further along for anything she could see or hear.
