Little did she know, when David and Mathew had their little talk before he had to deal with Rai. They actually talked about Bastille. And so Mathew was in the know about there little past. Admittedly it did make things a bit more awkward. But he trusted Bastille.
"Because it's efficient. You want Barker dead. I want Barker dead. He wants Barker dead. It is sensible to ally with him to achieve this goal quicker than I would be able to do on my own. As for if you are an asset to be shared. Look at your hand. With the ring."
He shook his head. She was being stupid. Clearly she was more than an asset. He was not planning on sharing Bastille. She could help him assault bases and move in to kill Barker. She could even help Blaze. But she wasn't a Dragon. She was his bride to be.

She just moved stiffly, her nose scrunching awkwardly. the next moment, she whipped her face away from him and hid it with her hair.
"I made breakfast." she muttered but kept her face hidden. This was the one part of her humanity she hated, crying. Even if she no longer had tear ducts to actually shed tears, she still got red and huffy in the face, and her chest still got tight. Desperately, she needed a moment to herself. She DID NOT like showing weakness. Instead, her face just turned distant.

He clicked his tongue and stayed in place. He didn't mind seeing her cry. And he would rather she come down with him rather than jump out the window and run off. He was still cranky over his wake up call to boot.
"You worry to much. Come on, let's eat."
He stepped forward and offered her his hand.

She looked up at him, (and believe it, because it's very very rare) innocently. Her eyes however quickly flicked from their innocent emotional struggle back to her normal deadpan look. She took his hand and stood up quietly.

He pulled her in close and planted a small kiss on her lips before escorting her downstairs.
"What did you make?"

Bastille blushed and followed, now getting a grumpy look on her face.
"Florentine eggs, with a side of butternutt squash and brown sugar. I would have made flap-jacks, but flowers hard to come by" She said, walking down the stairs. She'd only made enough for one person...frankly, Bastille wasn't hungry and was perfectly happy with her cup of tea and biscuit, which had been laid out for herself anyway.
It was an old habit.

"Well that sounds delicious."
He said as he took his seat, waiting for her to follow suit before he would begin eating. And it was good. He made a pleased sound to serve as praise, as he shoved another bite in to his mouth.

She just sighed at him, unsure how to fathom his transitions at all. Instead she sipped her tea quietly and nibbled little peices out of her biscuit. She spoke up after a second however.
"It's not his fault you know, why I wont allow you to drag me on missions..." She paused.
"I realized something...."

He looked up and swallowed.
"What did you realize?"

"I have to be your equal. No...I will be your equal. I cannot stand by your side as simply your knight or wife....before any of that, I must bring myself up on my own. My own titles, my own legend....this I will do before I marry you." She paused for a moment...her eyes looking up from her tea. "I will still marry you...but thats why I wont be with you on most of your exploits.....I guess this is my........formal reply." She stirred her tea furiously, since it was her replacement for blushing. She then sipped it quietly, eyes now closed.

"What title did you have your eyes set on obtaining?"
He asked curiously, a bit amused that this was what it was all about. But he could understand it. She didn't want to be stuck in his shadow. He could relate to that.

"Well I would point out that Hera is open. But if you did that I would have to kill Zeus, because I'm not letting you sleep with and be married to some other guy."
Kind of joking. Kind of serious.
"Shame you don't want to be a Dragon. I bet you could pass everyone's test no problem."
Probably scare Leon in to backing her. Bastille was kind of scary sometimes.

Bastille smirked. "No, thats gathering a bit of dust." ....and that was her tease. She set down her tea. "And if I recall, Hera is too jealous and emotionally driven of a goddess. Artemis is probably taken....but I always found that the norse gods served me better, perhaps Skadi is open? I've always seen eye to eye with her. Besides, what dragon title would I ever even be, honestly..." There was another pause. " so....does David know?" She asked it nonchalantly. Although she was highly curious about what Davids reaction was to her and Amtrum....but the point she wanted to know most was how well he took his life time supply of cereal being gone.

"I'm not sure what Norse God's are open. But I'm sure you could challenge a Goddess for her title. As for what Dragon you would be. That would depend on if that was a serious question."
He teased back.
"As for David, he knows. And he seems to be fine with it."
Apparently he has moved on already and didn't care at all. So no worries there.
