He had just watched anchorman again. Hurray for having a Leon and thus power. He shifted in to a defensive stance. Waiting to see if John would attack, or if he would lash out with Qi first.

John would fold his arms listening to the rules be explained, nodding along.
"Well, of course, thats obviouse."
John would look to Mathew now and inch forward, slowly, gripping the handle of the hammer as he got closer. He wasn't sure how he was going to play this now. Mathew was dangerous enough, but John's favorite ability with the hammer is actually used by striking the ground. He didn't think it would be a good idea to start with that.

Looks like he was up first, that was fine. He rushed forward, the ground trembling with each step. He dived forward in to a roll, his hands pressing against the ground to life his body up. His legs shooting upward in an attempt to plant themselves in to his chest. If he hit or miss his body would twist and spin to turn it in to a sweep kick. The stone around his body morphing and shooting out in to thick pillars right for John's knee caps after Mathew's legs moved past his legs.

John was caught off guard by Mathew's speed and trembling steps, knowing the Earth Dragon's strength from before he would of moved to dodge, but the trembling... He wasn't sure enough to move, so he tried to cross his arm over his chest as the feet kicked him back, John would roll with the kick, raising high enough to see the pillars.
John would attempt rolling to the left taking a pillar to the left knee, pushing off the ground with his free left hand, kicking forward with his planted right leg and swinging the hammer down towards Mathew's shoulder.
Total: +20 Degrees

After the sweep Mathew would roll on to his back, getting ready to jump himself up when John's hammer would slam in to his shoulder. He could feel the force of it, but it was unable to penetrate his defenses. Mathew's hand would reach up and attempt to grab the hammer out of John's hand. Sweat starting to bead down his forehead. It was getting hot now, and even more so with John on top of him.

John would attempt to gain the top mount, usually he'd start a ground and pound for the face and head, but this time he'd be aiming his free hand for Mathew's soft flech on the sides under the ribs, setting it on fire for with his attack. The eyes behind his mask glowing as he was able to see the flammable particles in the air.
He was striking to hope to keep Mathew from wrenching the hammer from his hand, if not then he wouldn't be able to match Mathew's strength.

The punch landed and Mathew let out a grunt. Sweat dripping down his forehead from the heat. It was almost unbearable. He ripped out the hammer from John's grasp and threw it behind him as far as he could while under John who had managed to get the top mount.
With the hammer tossed he would slam his arms down in the ground to try and shoot two pillars of stone at John. One on each side of him, trying to slam in to his ribs.

John didn't expect the stone pillars to slam his sides like that, luckily enough his chest guard could obsorb most of the damage It still hurt like a bitch. John would shift his upper body both ways to smash the rock pillars with his elbows before throwing his right fist for Mathew's chest again.

It was starting to get cooler, though it was still really hot. But that was good. He was feeling a little less drained already just from the ten degrees dropping off. With the punch coming in Mathew would try to grab the fist before it could collide in to his chest. His other hand reaching up to push at John to try and knock him off him.
