Annnnd pretty much back to ignoring Leon. Aryn's eyes fixed themselves on Mathew.
"I survived unlocking and using my qi. I'm already one step ahead of the nine that fell before me. I've no doubt I'll become a Dragon."
Simple. Firm. Unyielding.
It was either that or die trying, and Aryn wasn't about to die.

Qi did not make a Dragon. He was unimpressed.

Leon watched the exchange and would lean in to Aryn's ear.
"I'm not the only one who has to decide if you can be a Dragon or not."
Leon would lean back once more. He said it softly enough so Mathew wouldn't be able to hear, but he could probably guess.

Aryn's head turned slowly, and she gave him a distinct look with a raised eyebrow. You're shitting me. He couldn't be serious. But, apparently, he was. She closed her eyes, resisted rolling them, and turned to look back at Mathew, shaking her head.
"Challenge yourself to become stronger, do more, be more. Even if he," A thumb at Leon. "Is fucking me, he's not going to go easy on me."
And he could get under her skin. Mostly without ignoring her, too. That was a definite way to drive the challenge upwards. She'd lose interest and desire - her motivation - otherwise.
"He challenged me. I rise to it. I don't have any deep, seriously-thoughtful-ohsnaaaaaprespectbrah reason for being here. I don't need one. I'm here for myself."
Perhaps her reasons would become 'deeper', but this was enough for her. And at least she was honest about it. It was something of a whim, to be honest, but she didn't back down.

He snorted slightly and turned to face Leon. A small raise of his eyebrow before he started to to walk away.
"Glad you feel better ass breath."
He said without looking back.

"Good job."
And pick his trash back up before looking to Aryn.
"If your not busy later I've got some practice you can do with your Qi."
Leon meant of course burning and dousing this guy a few times for fun.

Aryn, to be completely, perfectly honest, had no idea what to make of Mathew's response. Or lack of one. There was annoyance at seemingly being ignored again by him, though. She stared at his retreating back until Leon's hand on her shoulder caused her head to turn, half-frowning.
Good job?
...well. Okay then. So apparently it was positive, he just didn't acknowledge it to her.
An eyebrow arched and she glanced from Leon to his trash, and then back again.
"Later. Sure. Where are you tossing that?"
