Finding the light (open)

[Levi Kayamei]

Levi's eyes widened as Leon's power went through the roof. He insides shook as he somewhat wished he didn't have the ability to see his power.

Prepare for the worst, think a step ahead, only way I can hope to survive this.

barely saw him rush his left side, catching it far too late to do anything about it. The kick landed home, sending Levi skyward, his side screaming.

"Ahh!"

No sooner had he gathered his bearings did Leon follow-up with another kick. Levi had anticipated the kick and guarded himself, not from the kick, but the ground he would collide with. He slammed into the ground, his guard breaking, though possibly saving his life. A few of his ribs were definitely broken and his back throbbed and he was sure if he hadn't prepped for it, it would have broken. He slowly pulled himself up, blood running down from the left side of his forehead. As he prepared himself for Leon's next attack he realized how hot he was, it was like his blood was boiling and trying to escape. Levi had not noticed, but there was a slight luminecence to his body. Levi breathed heavily as he tried to figure out Leon's next move.

Leon would land and charge once more, Seeing the feint glow Leon would punch outward throwing a bolt of black electricity with a dark blue blue heading right for him superceeding the followup punch for Levi's face that would likely send him hurtling away.

Levi saw the bolt coming, though once again, the speed was far beyond his ability to deal with. As he began to raise as much of his guard as he could he felt the bolt hit something else first, seeing something appear in front of him momentarily. A wall of force, or something had tried to intercept the bolt of electricity.

what was that?

The bolt crashed through the field like a knife through butter and crashed into him, sending him into spasms.

"aaaaaagh!"

As Leon's punch came in he watched as he fought to raise his guard, but his arms were unresponsive, yet again the field rose to try to stop the Lightning Dragon's attack, but again, to no avail. Levi flew back as fist collided with his face, hurtling through the air, heading towards an old building.

Is this it?

He luckily flew through the front door of the building, shattering it and colliding with with a staircase, caving it in. Levi's vision started to blur, only able to see Qi signatures clearly, as his consciousness began to fade, the only thing he was able to focus on was the burning heat in his body, which now seemed appear in his mind. It appeared as a bright white light and it seemed to call to him, letting him know it could save him. He reached out with his mind and grasped it as his vision suddenly came back and the fire that burned in his body forced him to his feet, filling him up. He felt like he was going to explode.

"Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!"

Theme

The darkness inside of the building filled with white light, emanating from Levi's body as he walked out, shining brightly, his teeth bared. As the sun light bathed him, he felt his pain numb slightly, as he focused on one thing, landing a single blow. Levi held his hands out, making a makeshift focus with his hands, gathering light from his surroundings, slightly dimming the immediate area around him, and focusing it into the space between his hands.

"Here, is my resolution! My sacrifice!"

Levi released his gathered energy, putting everything he had into focusing a ray of heat, directed at Leon. He succeeded, his own glow fading as he did so and his body seemingly to almost instantly cool down, he really had put everything into that last attack. His face smacked into the asphalt after watching his attack find it's target.

Leon would throw his arms up in a cross block as the ray of what seemed to be light smacked into him, it singed his leather and once over he'd lower his arms slightly to show the smile on his face. Leon would drop his guard and begin walking towards Levi.

"Very good... Let's get you somewhere you can recooperate."

Leon would wave towards the Cafe hoping Kiyr would see, he sensed her earlier and figured she was still near by. If she came over, he'd speak.

"Could you watch him for a second while I go and get a cot to put him on?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie leaned forwards with a wince as she saw Leon use both his qi and physical strength to send Levi through the building. Almost before she could stop herself, she vaulted down from the branch she was perched on, and then stopped before she could blink through the shadows to the building.

And it was a good thing, as the yell that echoed from within and the explosion of light caused her to extend a hand out to partially block the bright rays from her eyes, backing up to pass through her own shadow against the tree to resume her spot.

She resumed watching as Levi stepped out and blasted his beam of light at Leon, who looked rather...well, a bit singed, perhaps, but not worse for wear. Her gaze trailed back to Levi, just in time to see him face-plant into the asphalt.

She frowned, catching herself figuratively before she straightened and stepped into the tree trunk's shadow.

...and stepped out of Leon's.

She didn't say anything, but simply nodded, and set about rolling Levi to his side in a recovery position[/color]. There were good things about having a father that...well, he had been a doctor. She began a brief check to look for any broken bones, gently but firmly testing his ribs, and even giving his back and neck a brief check as well before moving onto his limbs.

"Ribs...nasty gash, probably a concussion... I do not know of any internal injuries from the kick, but..."

She sighed and shook her head, her hand edging to a pocket, where she had something wrapped.

'The kick looked brutal. I was saving this, in case I had the need, or for another purpose...'

"Well, it would not do to have you hemorrhage internally." She pulled the item from her pocket and unwrapped it. A black, tear-shaped candy. "I do not know if you can hear me, but this tastes horrid, apparently, but it works."

She impassively slipped the 'candy' into Levi's mouth and moved his jaw so that he 'chewed' it before running her fingers against his throat to stimulate the reflex to swallow. And then, it was just a matter of waiting for it to take an effect, which wouldn't be long.

If he started to stir, soon, she would simply 'fall' into his shadow and return to the tree.

Levi's face contorted as he regained consciousness, he gentley reached out to the side Kyrie had been at, only to sense her retreat away. He opened his steel eyes and blinked several times, bringing everything back into focus. His body felt as though it had been used as a punching bag for a week straight, but his more serious injuries were nothing more than a throb here and there. The taste of copper, Levi ran his tongue through his mouth and spit up the blood in his mouth, looking at Leon, noticing the pain he had moments ago was missing.

I guess that was it....my power....

He stood up, bowing to Leon.

"Thank you, that was.....a good lesson..."

He then looked at Kyrie with a smile.

"and thanks for saving my ass, when you didn't have to..."

Leon watched the girl poof in and then leave...

Bowing his own head to Levi when he bowed.

"I was impressed. Your starting alot stronger than any of my usual apprentices..."

Leon would look to the sky, closing his eyes again.

"I'll let you focus on todays lesson... I need to prepare for teaching both of you next time."

[Kyrie Blaze]

Tricksy Hobbits indeed. She was fast, efficient, and quickly reset herself, just as Leon noted when he told her to hit him as hard as she could.

She watched from her spot, just able to pick out most of the words, the rest done by some impressive lip reading to fill in the blanks after a few moments of thought even with that. It was unnerving, after, to have Levi pin his eyes straight on her from the distance she had retreated to. She didn't think she misheard or misread any of that. And yet, he knew exactly where she was.

She didn't return, preferring to keep her distance, for the moment, but her shoulders lifted in a non-committal shrug before her head inclined in acknowledgement of the gratitude. He was a Dragon Apprentice, now, and a Dragon, besides. His welfare and safety had to mean as much to her as the next Dragon's...but she didn't want to stray into the territory of 'family'.
