[Levi Kayamei]

Levi's ears picked up her hushed sentence, though he didn't think he would have heard it if she didn't want him to hear it. He smiled, returning to his old sitting spot, only perhaps a little closer, subconsciously testing the comfortable distance between them. He relaxed a little as he spoke, hands folded inside each other, resting his elbows on his knees, eyes at the ground.

"In my line of work....well my old line of work, it was a death sentence to not notice the smallest things."

Levi looked up with an inquisitive look on his face.

"I'm sure many people forget that you're not a girl, assumptions are often made too quick and are thus folly......is that frustrating for you?"

Kyrie watched, but remained still, noting the distance and simply listening. Her hands were folded on her lap, one over the other, as she stretched her legs out.

"The same could be said of survival in general."

She knew that first hand.

The question directed to her was surprising on several levels. She hadn't even tried anything on him, so to speak. But right now, it was...

She didn't really have words to describe it.

She sat, still and quiet, for a moment.

"It depends on the situation."

Truthful, yet neutral. Careful. Cautious.

Levi nodded in agreement to her first statement. It was clear she had been through enough to develope her own observation skills to a keen edge, a quality he could admire. He modded again after the second response, responding quietly.

"I'm sure....but I suppose it is an advantage for you more often than not...."

Levi smiled wryly, looking up at the young woman, a light tone in his voice.

"..too bad that trick doesn't work on me...you gotta watch out for us smelly guys..."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"It has been, yes."

The smile and jesting words caught her off-guard. She blinked owlishly, as she often did in such situations, then shook her head ever-so-slightly. Her hands shifted on her lap, then resettled comfortably.

"I find it amusing you could sniff anything out above your own odor."

But she didn't state that he couldn't see through her. Perhaps he certainly could, perhaps not, but she wasn't going to give away her intentions, if indeed she had them.

Levi shrugged and smiled as she teased him back, enjoying the banter between them. This was a rarity he did not get very often. He looked at her inquisitively as he spoke, averting his eyes as he began to spoke, losing a bit of his nerve and blushing slightly.

"So....not that I mind, but I can't help but notice you seem more comfortable around me than your nature would suggest.....why is that?"

How much did she want to reveal..?

Not much. Despite the apparently soothing presence, it didn't mean she trusted him. He seemed that he could be worthy, in a similar way to Blaze.

"I just went for a run," It was as good a reason for a beginning. "And even though the world is not the same, I dislike being impolite."

Perhaps that was a bit of a larger answer. There was nothing wrong with polite conversation, especially when she could glean information off a person just by observing.

Levi smiled, he was sure that wasn't the whole story, but he knew that the answer he got was the most he would glean about her thoughts for now. He smiled and stood up, it was time for him to leave, he would think on this encounter in private, and he had a feeling she would too.

"Well I'm glad....I enjoyed spending time with you....something I can't say for many people."

He turned to leave, a respectful tone in his voice as he raised his right hand in a wave.

"I'll let you finish your run."

Levi started to walk away, to explore the rest of Dragon territory, perhaps find a good place to train.

Kyrie had to respect someone that knew not to overstay their welcome, yet something that had been isolated for too long welled up, wanting her to reach out. She reached up instead, brushing a hand through her hair with a pang that was polar-opposite to the fact she was letting him go.

Lonely.

' 'Stay'? Dangerous thoughts, Kyrie...' The blonde silently berated herself, standing to bow forwards slightly with her fist over her heart, not seeming to care that her hair spilled forwards, then back over her shoulder against her back.

Dragon salute.

"Likewise." She responded in truth, holding her tongue against anything wayward and foolish, though her tone held a very mild dose of reluctance. "Enjoy the new day; your new start."

She could have called him by name, but left it at that. More was edging into territory she wasn't ready to face with someone else. She watched as he continued his leave, but reseated herself.

Her run, for now, was finished.

She returned to her seated position, regardless of whether or not she was in the clear, and pulled the slip out, glancing at the words again to brace herself before she turned it over with a bracing breath, brows drawing together. Six smiling faces, not counting her own as the seventh, stared back.

Her heart raced, thrumming like a hummingbird's wings, them seemed to stop and clench in a few hard thuds. She could feel the burn of tears, but blinked them away, determined not to let them fall until she could be certain she was alone.
