Dragon Rising (All Dragon Apprentices and Jackson)

Levi decided it was time for a change of subject. Kyrie often hid from closeness to anyone, that included sharing her intimiate thoughts, and it looked like she was getting uncomfortable. A change of subject was in order.

"So.....Leon is testing Ayrn and I as apprentices.....has Mathew tested you?"

It was an innocent topic and it would allow them to spend some time together. Levi felt comfortable around Kyrie since their duet concert at his new home days ago and she was certainly the only person he spoke to in such a way.

The shift in topic was...well, it was welcome. She was still testing the waters on all of this, for the most part. While she wasn't terribly uncomfortable, Levi effectively stopped the feeling from growing. She glanced over, one eyebrow disappearing for a moment beneath her bangs.

"Is anything not a test with the Earth Dragon? With any Named Dragon..?"

If there was one thing she'd noticed about Mathew, was that he had tests everywhere and in everything. The man was a walking minefield of tests. She smiled with a slight exhale of laughter. Perhaps Leon was slightly different, perhaps Blaze was, but with any encounter she'd had with any of the Dragon Figureheads, they had always tested her in some way.

But she was constantly testing them, too.

Levi exhaled a laugh of his own as she mentioned the named Dragons. It was certainly true that Each encounter he had endured with any of the named dragons had always been a test of some sort, usually involving an injury of some kind. He rubbed the ribs Leon had once shattered as he replied.

"True enough, I've only encounted David once, and he AND mathew put me through quite a trial......and Leon....well you saw that one...."

He paused for a moment as he reminisced over his lessons from the named Dragons. They may have had rather brutal ways of teaching their pupils, but one could never say it wasn't effective.

"Their methods are...ruthless at times, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not a lot stronger for each lesson they've given me."

Point for the set.

The smile lingered, but it did slip just a little at the mention of Levi's encounter with Leon to unlock his qi.

"Indeed."

The silence, Kiyr found, was comfortable between them. At least, on her end, and if it was on his end as well, that was important for her. She swept her gaze out and around with a casualness that was betrayed by the fact her gaze was sharp and observant. They softened slightly as Levi spoke and her gaze turned back to him.

"Yes. I have already come farther, here, than I was able to, before." There was gratitude in her tone, even though something about the way she'd been recruited hadn't sat well with her, and still didn't, but that feeling was diminishing with time as she adjusted to life within the Dragons, and began to accept them all as the family she no longer had.
