(OOC: Closed. Please note that Kazuya and Emily's daughter was confirmed by Marianne herself, on MSN, when I IM'ed her.)
Kazuya still could not believe it. Sitting on the floor alone inside the abandoned dojo he called home, his cellphone gripped tightly in his hand, on its last legs of battery life, moments ago, he had received a short but vital text message from a name he had not seen in years... Dr. Layla Clavering. The moment he saw Kazuya's face turn grim at the message, Kuro slinked out through one of the holes in the dojo walls and decided to go for a walk... a long walk.
Emily... It had been three long years since he last saw her, before she completely disappeared without a single word or trace. He had spent those years searching for her, but also hoping she'd return, but his hopes had died the moment she died. His head bowed low, his hair hiding his face from view, the text message sent to him was simple:
Rising from the floor after what seemed like years, the pain of losing Emily finally catching up to him, Kazuya would set his face like flint, and turn to the entrance of the dojo. He would return to England... if only to see her one last time...
- London, England -
It had not been easy getting to London, England. With anything and everything electrical-powered either dead or on its last legs, he had called in one last favor of his father, before his phone had died completely, and used the last remaining plane that was in relatively good condition, a small cargo plane, before it too, was rendered useless. It had just enough fuel to get him to England and back. That was all he needed.
Directed to her grave by Dr. Clavering herself, the funeral for Emily had been small, low-key. With the world destroyed, a small funeral was all that could've been done. It had been a couple weeks after Emily had died, that her body had finally been found. She had gone missing, only to be found dead at the ruins of Public High School #259. Cause of death? Besides the illness that had been slowly killing her? Stabbed through her eye, into her brain, all the way to the occipital lobe. Near instant death. Buried with a simple tombstone, a picture from her high school days set in the tombstone and her title, "The Black Butterfly" engraved upon it, the matching gold wedding ring the two of them kept from the mock wedding still upon her left ring finger, the closest thing to a real wedding they ever had, Kazuya shed no tears for his one true love, only when he was alone and by himself, did he finally break down and cry for her.
Days later, he was brought to and was finally face to face with his daughter. Shizuka Emiko Kaori Delos Santos. Clinging to Dr. Clavering, her face buried in her chest, the infant was no older than a year old. Although Emily raised and loved her dearly, the good doctor had helped to take care of her, as Emily had steadily grown weaker and weaker. She had plenty of memories of her mommy, and the eccentric doctor, whom was not eccentric to her at all. In fact, she was incredibly fond of her and all her puppets, and loved her as much as she loved her mommy. Shyly peering at the man crouched down before her, though he had not said anything, it was clear an unspoken bond had been formed from the moment they had come face to face with each other.
"Da... dda?"
- Long Beach, California -
Having returned to Long Beach, his daughter fast asleep and cradled in his arms, Kazuya would return to the abandoned dojo he called home, Kuro having looked after it while he had been gone, though soon, he, along with Kuro, would be moving. For now though, he could rest easy, his daughter now with him. Kaori would miss Dr. Clavering, that was for sure, but she was with her daddy now...
