The name means nothing
Disappointed? Not necessarily. Vespyr hardly knew anything about the Dragons, and was not biased against them… any more than she was biased against anyone else. But she'd guessed correctly. Her violet eyes flicked down to the cat once more, and then back up to the man and she tilted her head back a little. The shadow of her hood retreated up to just below her eyes and she gave him a sarcastic 'are you kidding me?' sort of look, still grinning like a devil.
"Fleesh does whatever he likes. Your visit comes as a surprise to me, to be honest. Like I said… you're a long way from home."

He let his smile fade as he looked down at the creature. Was she a cat lady, then? There was thirty of them when he was... He looked up at her, staring over her features again. She reminded him....of another man. One who had been in highschool. Sick, evil. She seemed... Different too. Collected. Controlled. Uncaring. As his eyes would look for hers again, he would feel a shiver up his spine.
Yeah, she would fit right in there.
"I am, but your not, are you? We are...what? Maybe a mile or so away? These felines your gaurds, then? Kuz I watched them put down two large pups not twenty minutes ago off that way." He pointed in the direction of the area that fleesh brought him from, before he'd crouch to try and pet the creature again.
"And if so...i'll never fuck with another cat again."
Another smile. After watching them tear a second one in the two dogs...hell. He'd make sure not to LOOK at one wrong.

Errands
Vespyr shook her head slowly, and Fleesh retreated further into the darkness of the alleyway before the crouching man could get anywhere near him… his long tail bobbing coyly out of arm's reach until he disappeared into the shadows altogether.
"…No. They're not mine. They're not anybody's." Vespyr insisted.
That was the truth.
"I don't live there; no one does but the cats, it seems."
That was a lie.
"I'm just passing through, which I assume you are. Or else… what brings you so far from the safety of the nest."
That was only half a lie; she was passing through… leaving the city on a temporary basis.

David brought his hand back as the cat seemed to feel pressure to vanish back into the shadows. He stood back up, brushing his hands off on the side of his pants.
"I'll be frank- not only do you not seem like the type to be just 'passing' through anywhere, you obviously recognize the animal and he knows you. You know what area i'm talking about when I point in a general direction, which means you either know of the area or have been there yourself. In truth, I couldnt care less about that though."
He could check that place out anytime he wanted.
"I was looking for a man, who is either long gone or dead. He ran toward the land that only cats supposedly live on, and I havent seen a hint of him since. Now I think i have answered plenty- perhaps you could return the favor. Who exactly are you?"

So quick to judge
She tilted her head toward the wall, still grinning at him.
"Of course I know him. He'd follow me anywhere. I know where you're talking about because I've stayed there. But now I'm leaving, because there's nothing left to take from it. You may have noticed… everything here is barren."
There were no people for blocks in every direction-- outside of the meager three blocks making up Rogues territory. There was no food. There was scarcely any running water. The missiles had hit here the hardest. Even the Rogues had to travel far from their secluded location to do their hunting and gathering. And that man, that David mentioned… if he had indeed run toward that land, then of course he'd vanished. Maybe it wasn't the cats… but it very well could be.
They did it to Gilbert Pike, after all.~
"I'm not exactly anybody. To you I'm nobody. To me you're nobody. Don't get hung up on all the details, they really skew your perspective of things. Don't be so quick to take sides against something that doesn't affect you."
In case he still didn't trust her, even though she hadn't even shown him the hostile glint in her eyes yet, Vespyr reached up to push the hood back to show the man her face and her intentions. He would see, in the cold, dark violet hues, that her intention was to be left alone.
"That, David Blaze, Dragon, whatever you want to call yourself, is why I am nobody. The side I'm on is my own, and it's none of your business."

David stared back into her eyes, not showing it, but only slightly satisfied at having her push down her hood. Mostly because, despite her form, she was actually attractive. Human. He listened to it all, showing respect for her to finish. As she did, He just stood still a moment before seeming to relax.
"I asked for a name, not a statement of belief or ideals regarding my own wars, or yours. Nor did i insinuate I cared about any of your perspectives on the city, or on what I am or whose side you are on, either inwardly or outwardly. I thought, perhaps, a name might be a stepping stone. Ever heard of friends? That stone is generally one you step on to make them."
He would throw his coat back over his shoulders, shrugging it on.
"Then again, maybe Friends aint something you are interested in Erilus nex*."
Dont give him a name, he will make one. This...woman was a little too presumptious for Davids liking, and his patience was wearing thin.
"In case that wasn't clear enough- i dont give a damn about who you are, in truth. I asked to be polite, and maybe make a new friend. If you don't wanna to talk to people like me, maybe you should teach your cat to bring company more preferable to your tastes.
He would start to walk away, muttering about a stick being somewhere in her person it shouldnt be.

Presumptuous
Vespyr waited patiently as the man embarked on his tirade of… sort of conflicting statements. Her violet eyes looked on at him, not amused.
'Didn't insinuate'? …What side she was on? …then why ask questions about who she was so specifically? Assuming that if she wasn't with Barker, then she must be a Crow?
'Didn't give a damn' about who she was? …then why did he ask her name or who she was at least four times? No, that wasn't clear at all.
Friends? …no actually, he pretty much nailed that one on the head. She wasn't interested in making friends and that was probably the only warranted assumption he'd made about Vespyr so far.
Wanted to be polite? …when he hastily made assumptions about her intent to lure him and kill him, when she hadn't shown him any hostile intent yet… and had in fact suggested that he get out of plain sight to avoid being spotted by Barker soldiers who would surely be roaming about because they were deep in the middle of Barker territory-- which, by the way, should have been a good enough conclusion for David to jump to when he was wondering where that random guy disappeared to. Disappeared. In the middle of Barker territory. No wonder. Vespyr wondered if the man was a little irrational, even.
The woman gave a little laugh when he began to walk away. Not at him, but to herself. She turned to disappear into the alley as Fleesh had, pulling her hood back up, hands in her pockets.
Normally Fleesh didn't bring her company at all… unless it was important, or they really were suited for her literal tastes. But she was glad he'd brought her this one. He told her something she needed to know. And this man's name was printed across the top of a file folder amongst many others, tucked in a briefcase that "Unfettered" had given her two years ago…
Vespyr grinned. She'd have to do some research later...
