You failed (Rai/Kiyr)

Both of them would sink in to the ground up to their mid thigh for the legs and past their elbows for the arms. Just to make sure they didn't go anywhere. Stomping on the ground a pillar of stone shot up and he would snatch it out of the ground so that he was holding a small staff about as thick as a fifty cent piece.

"I can't believe both of you failed. Twice!"

He snarled as he brought the stone staff down across Kiyr's back hard. His foot slamming angrily in to the ground again to send one shooting up from the ground in to Rai's chest.

"If you intend to become Dragons, then you need to learn to fight and defend your honor. Even if you fail. If I'm going to punish you, then don't make it easy on me."

He pivoted and would slam to stone staff in to the side of Rai's face before shoving it back to jab it right in to the center of Kiyr's forehead. He wasn't holding back his punches either.

"When you become a Dragon if you feel you messed up what then? You just going to sit down and let someone have their way with you?"

Rai took the hits but was trying to deaden the pain as much as he could by hardening his blood.

"No master. I will only submit if I have failed someone whose hands I have given my life."

Rai was doing his best to keep his anger in check, anyone would be mad at this point. He had failed his master twice and was beating himself up for it but then with Mathew hitting him and basically calling him worthless he was trying his best to stay cool.

The breath slammed out of her lungs at the first hit, and she was pretty sure she heard a couple cracks in her back--not snaps, not yet. But it was still a fearsome type of pain. She coughed, trying and struggling to keep her breathing level. She didn't immediately respond, considering Rai was speaking. The butt of the staff slammed into her forehead and she emitted a pained cry, though it cut out as Kiyr briefly succumbed to unconsciousness.

Had she been aware, she would have been pretty sure Mathew wouldn't let her stay like that for long. Regardless of whether or not he struck her again, she came back to consciousness with a soft groan.

"Time and a place..." She managed to utter. And another test in of itself, for her. She shook her head to help clear it, but the pain was doing a pretty stellar job of it.

"Your life is in the hands of anyone stronger than you with the will to harm you."

He said and spun the staff before cracking Rai in the skull with it again. His body shifting once more as Kiyr groaned and staggered back to consciousness. Her words were met only with the staff slamming in to her back once more.

Rai took the hit hard and cringed shaking his head trying to clear the fog.

"My life is in the hands of those I give it too, if someone stronger than me wants to cause me harm and take my life, then I'll give them hell until they succeed."
