David scoffed.
"I came out here to make you realize what I have already learned. That if it werent for Barker, there would be no need for any of this. If it werent for Barker, me and you could be sitting with your son playing apples to apples. Or getting a drink in that bar. Instead, you sit here, turning inward."
He would catch her hand.
"No, you dont. And neither do I. We have no time for wallowing. For self pity. Have you even tried to talk to Kiyoshi? Or jonathon?"
He would let go of her wrist.
"What other excuse you want to throw at me?"

She hissed as he caught her hand, but didn't interrupt him as he spoke. His words reached a part of her that hated herself for what she was doing, the bit of her that knew she was being simply pathetic.
No time for wallowing or self-pity....he was right. And doing so was really unlike her.
"What other excuse you want to throw at me?"
He let go of her hand and she let it fall to her side. She was silent for a moment, staring fixedly at a random spot she had picked on his chest, unable to meet his eye as hers began to shine from unshed tears.
He had come out here because he knew she had been affected by this loss. He wasn't here to taunt or tease her (although he had), he was here to help her work through her anger.
'Turning inward' was an excellent way of describing just what she had done. Tired of the disappointment and the hurt, she shut herself in, preventing her from being vulnerable as she sought to drink down those emotions that threatened to make her human.
And single-handedly, David had peeled away her dross armour and exposed that wounded, scared little soul to the world. She wasn't worthy of a friend like him.
Defeated, her Qi sank back into her skin and her whole body shuddered as she let out a long sigh, still refusing to meet his eye. "I...have none."

He waited, not saying a word as she stared, People around them watching with bated breath. She gave three little words, making him give a small smile. He gave a simple response.
"Good."
He would turn around and start moving back toward the bar.
"Kuz I was not nearly drunk enough for those haymakers you were throwing, and as a result, I vote more alcohol is needed for correction."
He'd turn back to her with a small smile. He still had things to discuss with her.
"You comin', or what?"

"Good."
Delilah nodded as if to herself, closing her eyes as he turned away from her.
"Kuz I was not nearly drunk enough for those haymakers you were throwing, and as a result, I vote more alcohol is needed for correction."
Huh?
Delilah lifted her head, surprised at the jovial way he said that and found herself looking at his smile. The pressure of shame in her chest began to ease.
"You comin' or what?"
A startled laugh bubbled up from between her lips and she started after him, walking back to the bar (that she destroyed the window of). "Cheers to that."
She'd follow him inside, taking a seat back at the bar. The atmosphere had become significantly less tense now that their fight was over. People went back to their drinks with only a little bit of apprehension.

David sat next to her, the shaking bartender handing them both drinks. David would take a sip before glancing at Delilah, speaking casually.
"We DO still have some work to do. Any noise about that Army I showed you the other day? Have they moved, or attacked anywhere? I lost two scouts trying to find out- perhaps you have done better."
He would turn his head to watch her, waiting for a response.
((Short, I know. Apologies.))

She accepted the drink from the bartender with an acknowledging bob of her head, bringing it to her lips...and then setting it back down after a second. She tapped a nail against the rim of the glass; she already had about eight drinks under her belt and had yet to even feel the slightest bit tipsy. Knowing it was only a matter of time before she got really drunk now that her anger had died down, she decided she was going to nurse this one.
"We DO still have some work to do. Any noise about that Army I showed you the other day? Have they moved, or attacked anywhere? I lost two scouts trying to find out- perhaps you have done better."
Delilah snorted somewhat derisively. "Hardly," she let herself sip the watered down whiskey before setting it back down, clutching the glass with both hands. She turned her head slightly to look at him. "I have more recon scheduled over the next week or so, but what we've gathered so far as amounted almost to nothing. They're training, though, rigorously. Practicing formations. No indication who it's for...who knows, could be both of us." She shrugged. That was unlikely, but if the resources were there, it wasn't a terrible idea. Especially now that the two gangs were divided. It was one such thought that had brought her to the bar in the first place.
Speaking of...
Her eyebrows drew closer together as she studied him, a small smile finally turning up the corners of her lips. "How did you find me, anyway?"

OOC: *superkicks back onto the board*
Sup mutha fucka?
IC:
David chewed on his lip a moment before taking a drink. He wasnt quite sure how she would react to the knowledge he would give her, especially since she wasnt one of his own. He let out a little breath.
"I had you followed."
He glanced at her before continuing.
"Every time I seem to grow attached to anyone as a person, they up and bounce. So, ive learned to keep a watchdog on them, at least until they mame it home. You didnt go home, so, here I am."
He took another drink, unsure of whether she would be okay with it, or more upset than before.

((OOC: WOOOOOOOT!!!))
Delilah raised an eyebrow as David paused. It wasn't a calculated pause, as if he were trying to gather his thoughts...it seemed to her that he was trying to find the right words to something hard to admit. Fortunately, she didn't have to wait long.
"I had you followed."
Her brow furrowed instantly as she looked back at him, blue eyes first widening, then narrowing. As indignant as that made her feel (did he think she was weak? That she was fickle? That she would just run off at a moments notice because things hadn't quite gone her way? Or that she would be killed or captured by the enemy? For that matter, who would be stealthy enough to follow her without her knowledge, aside from David himself? Possibly August, maybe Youichi, Kyrie was an option as well what with her shadow hopping...anyone else would be an embarrassment.), Delilah would refrain from talking until he finished, a courtesy she awarded few. She drummed her fingers against the countertop, waiting for him to explain himself.
"Every time I seem to grow attached to anyone as a person, they up and bounce. So, ive learned to keep a watchdog on them, at least until they mame it home. You didnt go home, so, here I am."
Her scowl didn't let up, though the look in her eyes softened somewhat as she stared at him unblinkingly for an unnerving thirty seconds. Finally, she sighed, looking away and shaking her head. "....I think I can respect that." she grumbled before taking another sip of the terrible whiskey. "But I don't think I need to tell you how unnecessary I think that is."
If he looked at her now, he would see the mechanic looking at him out of the corner of her eye, smiling wryly, perhaps a little more pink in the face than before. Her logical mind thought it was a waste of resources for him to have someone follow her, but she was touched that she was thought of highly enough to be concerned about.
"I'm not goin' anywhere, David. Not for a long, long time."

At that moment two heavily armored men walked into the bar looking almost as if they were wear Leon's battle armor only upgraded. As they spoke they alternated the sentence. "Delilah Black." The first man said. "David Blaze."The second man. "Sean Barker." "Requests and audience.""With the two of you." "Please come quietly"The men would look at the two waiting for an answer.
