Rai listened intently most of what she was saying was getting through though not all of it. Then she asked him to try and hit her again. Try... right cause that worked out so well for me last time... But in a lesson you did what the teacher asked right?
"Alright... If you say so..."
Rai would get into striking range of her and instead of doing something that would throw him off balance he just did a simple punch straight for her left cheek.

He would miss!
It would almost appear as though Delilah hadn't moved at all...and he would almost be right if he thought this In reality, she had just timed his swing and distance in just such a way that she would be able to move the barest of fractions to avoid a hit.
She grinned across at him. "Again."

Rai was very confused Again? When did she... Rai pulled back his fist and went for another punch though this time to her gut.

ANOTHER MISS!
Delilah would have caved herself inwards slightly this time, and though Raikotsu's range and timing had been excellent, his fist would stop a few inches from her abdomen as if he hadn't really been trying to hit her.
An almost concerned look flitted over her face, but her eyes were dancing with glee. "Nope, missed again! You're really not that good at this, are you?" she was joking, but she was also trying to rile him up.

She would indeed get him riled up. He went to kick her with his left leg, and he would swing for her gut again with his left hand.

Laughing now, Delilah's hips turned her to the outside, allowing the kick to pass right by her without so much as touching her. To avoid his fist, she swiveled the other way, and went back to center.
"This is known as Shiho Tenshi-tobi, or the "eight directional movements". Basically, I don't want to get hit, so..I don't. I don't let myself be there when the hit comes in. I just open the door, and let the strike blow right past. This is also how you should treat taunts or criticisms to your behaviours. Don't even let it touch you.
"Don't apologize for who you are. Always hold your head high. You're a man; act like one. If you mess up, own up to it, but stand by your decisions. It's a shit-pile, but it's your shit pile. Do you follow?"

Rai nodded she was right, he shouldn't be so quick to anger. He would have to work on that. Though what she told him about owning up to his mistakes that made sense it was something he knew he should do but never really went about doing it... But maybe now was the time to turn a new leaf.
"I follow... Instead of being so quick to thrust away any issues or problems I need to stand up to them and face what I have done. Not try to bury it with words and pretend it never existed. Right?"

Delilah nodded as he seemed to come to an understanding about the kind of attitude he was trying to emulate. "You have no reason to be ashamed of your faults and mistakes. They make you who you are and, best of all, you learn from them. You should never have any regrets, because at one time, it was exactly what you wanted.
"Deal with what comes. This helps you be more adaptable in combat and allows you to get over failure faster."
Yeah. Because she was one to talk.
"You shouldn't apologise for wanting something either. If you want it, go after it...but use your judgement. Remember that people are relying on you and if you do something reckless, you could wind up getting yourself killed...and then where would that leave the people you want to help? Keep the people you killed in your thoughts...but don't let them destroy you. Just have them there as a reminder to what you and they have sacrificed to live."

Rai nodded this was a concept he had kind of heard about but never thought anything of it. But now he saw that was flawed thinking.
"Thank you, I will continue training my mind to embrace this concept."

Smiling, Delilah nodded her head. "Good. But don't think too hard. Just let it be and it will become part of you eventually.
"Do you have anymore questions, Sudeki-san?"

"I came her to seek your wisdom. You have given me much and for that I am thankful. I have no questions and if that is all you would like to share for now then I will take my leave and build up what you have taught to me today."

Delilah would bow her head at a slight angle and smile.
"Should you need me again, don't be afraid to come find me. Any Dragon is welcome in Crow lands."

Rai bowed respectfully.
"Thank you very much, I will remember that. Till next time then."
Rai stood back up, gathered his things and proceeded to walk home. Letting his mind digest what she had taught him.

"Raikotsu."
She would remain where she was, calling after him as he turned to walk back down the beach.
"Not so very long ago, I helped Mathew in obtaining some fabric. For a coat. He mentioned it would be for one of his apprentices, once they proved themselves.
"You have done well so far, based on what I've seen. You've become much more worldly and you're well on your way to Dragon-hood. But you are not yet a Dragon. Remember this. And though he isn't present, you should honour your master and his intentions.
"Even though he is not watching, I can assure you, there are others who watch for him."
And with that said and another nod of her head, she would finally let him go, if he chose.

Rai would stop and look at Delilah as she spoke. When she was finished he stood straight and put his fist against his chest in dragon fashion.
"I am forever loyal to my master and I will always be his apprentice until he releases me from that title. Even if I become a named Dragon before he releases me I will still serve him. I thank you for your concern but right now everything I do to make me stronger will only benefit him as well. That is a promise."
