"If you promise that you will follow the doctors orders then you may hold one, and switch when you are ready. I don't want you holding both at once until you regain some of your strength."
He did sit down on the bed next to her though. So she could see and be close to both though. He didn't want to deny her children to her. But he was also afraid of how weak she might be. Especially if they had to cut her open.

She'd been blown up by a train. And the sarcasm/bragging rights of having experienced such a feat was clear on the sour expression she shot Mathew as a retaliation. However she took the first daughter, closest to her from his arms and gently took hold of her. Bastille looked down at the child and smirked.
"Hey there ugly......" She said, although it was clear she thought the opposite. "Hello...."

Mathew's face split with a grin as he adjusted his grip on the girl he held in his arms. Watching Bastille and her reaction. It was kind of cute really. To think they were parents. It was hard to wrap his head around it all.
"And they are bastards too."
He pointed out playfully. Such things didn't matter, at least not to him.

"Hush-, I dont want my daughters learning fowl language too early." She said strictly, then smiled at the girl again. "Fitting anyway, means they were conceived before I fully belonged to you..." she snickered a bit but fell silent.
a beat.
"What are we going to name them?"

"Ha. You belonged to me the day we met. And you know it."
He smiled warmly though, shifting to hold the child in one hand as he moved his freed hand to gently stroke Bastille's hair.
"I don't know. Evelyn comes to mind for me. For the older one. What do you think of that name?"

"Evelyn Amtrum....Oddly twangy..." She muttered lightly.
"Evelyn..." She repeated over and over....quietly. Then she smirked and nodded.
"I like it. " She looked up at him. "I request Arianna as the other name...." She said quietly. She wouldn't mention why the name, but it sounded slightly important to her. She looked down at the girl in her fiances arms. "Arianna and Evelyn...."

"That's cute. Not going to follow your Mom's building thing?"
Thank God! Cause he would have put his foot down on that.
"I like it though. It's pretty. Evelyn and Arianna Amtrum."
He let out a long sigh. Things were sinking in. He drew his hand back from Bastille and gently brushed his fore finger over his child that he held in his arm.
"I can't believe this is real..."

"I know what you mean..." She soothed quietly.
"Nine months and I still didn't believe....well technically 8 1/2- I never quite hit 9 did I?..."
She felt the exhaustion inside of her return. Her children were okay, and she no longer felt the need to fight to stay awake. She blinked a couple times, clutching to her child gently, but protectively.
"Who would have thought the day we met, we would be here with twins....certainly not me. I wanted to string you up so badly..heh..." She laughed quietly.

"Kids no. That we would be together forever? Yeah, I knew it."
He had decided as much when he made her his property. He kept his things, he didn't throw them away. And she was special, she had always been special.

Bastille nodded lightly. However it wasn't much time before she was nodding off back into the pillows still holding the child protectively.
"I shouldn't.....be holding this child....Ive killed..I've killed children" She said showing tired remorse. She sucked in a breathe then let herself sink back into the pillows, still holding the little girl right, her head slightly higher than the rest of her tiny body.
"There are people...outside..."

"You won't kill these ones." He said softly before leaning in and planting a kiss on her forehead. It didn't matter to him how sweaty or gross she might be. She was his Bastille, and he trusted her not only with his life. But now with his legacy. With his children.
"Should I send them away so you can get some rest?"

"dont know what they're there for..."
She seemed hesitant for a moment. Like she wanted to stare at their children longer but then she nodded when she couldn't keep her eyes open.
"Make sure I wake up jerk,.....I dont want to over sleep." She said and quietly settled back into the pillows. Still, iron gripping the infant who seemed just as keen on sleep as her.

"You will wake up."
He said firmly. There was no way that she was going to die. It was forbidden.
"I love you babe." He said with a wink before taking their daughter from her. She needed to rest. "Tomorrow when you get up you can be with the girls all day. But I'm gonna get them to the doctors to watch over them. And they need to watch over you too. Ok?"
It was only barely a question.

Bastille just held up her thumb and quickly rested back into the pillows.
"You get first watch, mister Amtrum."

"Of course I do."
He said with a small nod, surprisingly ok with that. At least he was surprised about it. Somewhat.
