David stepped out of the shower, one towel wrapped around his waist while another was being used to scrub his hair. Pulling on some boxers and jeans, he tossed a blue sweater on over his frame, before walking out into the living room. He heard the shower running and smiled. She was sure making herself at home...
Good for her. Resignation to staying was much easier for him to convince through later.
He walked down the hall and into the kitchen, pulling out some ground beef. He picked up some noodles and sauce before starting a pot of water on the stove.
Spagetti. Yeah, he wasnt gonna cook something huge for just them- he just wanted her to feel right and good and...comfortable. He had worked hard on The child, trying to make her feel happy. She would be staying with her friends tonight, under gaurd, of course.
Hed be lying if he said he wasnt nervous. And happy. And angry. And confused. And-
He popped in some sliced bread and butter.
Stop thinking...just..stop. Make dinner. Shes showering naked-
PUT OVEN ON MEDIUM AND ADD NOODLES.

Olesya took a longer shower than she expected to. Granted, after traveling for days, one tends to get kind of grungy. Back before the bombs fell, Olesya relished in the sanctuary of the shower, blocking out everyone and everything, and nothing beat the feeling of being squeaky clean. Once she was satisfied with her level of hygiene, she turned off the water and stepped from the shower, grabbing one of the hanging towels to dry off with. She changed into her set of clean clothes, dropping her dirty clothes in the hamper in her way out.
She emerged from the bathroom in a slight cloud of steam, her towel wrapped around her head to keep her wet hair out of her face and off of her skin. She heard the sounds of movement in the kitchen, making her way to the door to see what David was up to.
"What's on the menu? Need a hand?"
She asked, speckled blue-brown eyes watching him thoughtfully as she leaned on the door frame.

David gave a slight start as she spoke, relaxing into an easy smile as she offered some assistance. He held up a spoon and shook his head.
"I'm good, thanks."
He began to stir the noodles, speaking over to her as he did so.
"So... This doctor you saw. He is in California?"
Curious to know more about her trip, David was also trying to curb the burn in his chest her leaving had done. For so long he kicked himself for fighting with her. Now he was cooking dinner for them- he let out a little breath, waiting for her to speak.

The corners of her mouth twitched upward as he didn't outright tell her what he was making, making it clear that he was taking the reigns on this. She let her gaze fall over the ingredients around him: noodles, hamburger, sauce, Olesya would guess he was making spaghetti with meat sauce. Whatever though, if he wanted to do it himself, she wasn't going to argue.
She decided to focus on his question instead.
"Yeah, Northern Cali, near the border. A couple years ago I hit rock bottom, and got picked up by the police. They wanted to get me off the streets so they sent me to an asylum up there. They forced me to get clean by way of withdrawal, it was some of the worst days of my life."
She cleared her throat, not intending for the conversation to get so dark, but it had been in the darkness that she was brought to Doctor Twist. And besides, David had no idea what she went through before they ran into each other just outside Crow Territory. He even said so in the war room earlier that day. Olesya had nothing to hide from David, not anymore. If he wanted to know, there wasn't anything she wouldn't tell him.
"I was lucky Dr. Twist found me, otherwise I probably would have spent the rest of my days there. He was working at the asylum as overflow staff, he had a practice of his own that he dedicated his time to, but helped out when they needed him. That was how he found me. I was clean, at least of the drugs I'd put in myself, but I was still out of my mind with the chemicals Barker had shoved in my system. Dr. Twist recognized that, almost like a ghost from his past, he said. He convinced the asylum to release me under his care. I came to live at the 'halfway house' they called it. A renovated office building that had the business part on the bottom, and patients rooms on the top floor, it looked kinda like a big house. I was there for a couple years, receiving treatment to combat the chemicals, to neutralize them and make them harmless. Then the bombs fell, and like I said, I left before I was finished. It wound up being a foolish mistake."
Olesya frowned slightly, not wanting to leave her explanation on a negative note.
"Buuut I went back! And I'm better. Doctor Twist took a blood sample and examined it before releasing me this time. The chemicals have been neutralized, all I have to worry about is the damage that's already been done."
Well, it was a mostly positive note, anyway.

David continued to cook as he listened- it wasn't that he wanted it to be a surprise, he just wanted her to feel welcome, and like she doesn't have to work. He would pour the sauce and meat in at their appropriate times, continuing to listen to her tale. He nodded as she finished, turning to her and giving a small smile.
"Well, I'm glad of that. Kinda wished I would have been a little less…critical of you."
He turned back around, stirring slowly.
"I feel like a big part of the reason you didn't feel welcome- will you grab plates out of the cupboard, to my right?"
Once she did, and set the table, he would continue to stir and add what was necessary as he spoke.
"I've actually been meaning to talk to you about that- you know, you feeling welcome. If your up to it, I want to see about you joining the Dragons. If you want, anyway."
He half shrugged, slightly embarrassed. He didn't know why, but for some reason, when he was around her, big things to him seemed…well, less important.

A slight tilt of her head indicated that she felt he was a little over-critical of her as well. Granted, she had done a stupid thing to expose Maddie to danger, but it was a concept Olesya couldn't understand while her blood coursed with the super-soldier chemicals Barker had introduced to her system. She still had the benefits of the strength, constitution, and speed, but she body had reached its limit for the dose she was given. Once her enhancements plateaued, the chemicals began to wreak havoc, doing more harm than good. Such was the point of an experiment, to work out the bugs.
She pulled two plates from the cupboard as requested, setting them on the table and turning back to grab silverware. She found it on the second drawer she tried, taking out two sets and grabbing napkins to finish setting the table. When David spoke again, Olesya paused, a fork halfway to the table as she turned to look at him.
"You want me to be a Dragon?"
She asked, unable to believe what she just heard. David and Mathew were both Dragons, but PHS 259 had also been taken over by Dragons. She lost her pillarship to Matrim Gallagher, causing a tinge of bitter animosity toward the illustrious Dragons. However, times changed, and now they were providing shelter and life to not only her but an entire small city of people. She was mildly conflicted.

David smiled.
"Well, you wouldn't be one of the named, but Anna is tired of her duties as my Voice, and it would give you and Maddie protection. Nobody fucks with the Dragons now, and we are alot different that the highschool punks most people remember. We are stable. We have a purpose- we don't just walk around picking fights. We have something to fight for. Plus, while your living with me, it will make it easier to keep in contact."
Yeah, notice how he snuck things in there? He was a champ at that. He would continue to stir for a few moments, lifting the pot and setting it on a potholder which had been waiting for him on the table. He took out the bread, setting it on top of the oven and glancing over at her as he stacked them on a plate.
"I hope... I hope you'll join. If you need time to think on it....I'll understand."

Olesya thought about his proposal, mulling it over like a marble in her mouth. He wanted her to join the Dragons as his "Voice?" Certainly it would give her something to do, it would give her a purpose. Also, he said it would protect her and Maddie, though she figured Maddie was already safe within the walls of the city.
white]"What is a Voice?"
She asked, setting down the rest of the silverware and grabbing two glasses from the cupboards.
"Also, what do you want to drink?"

He shrugged.
"Water is fine for me."
He would take his seat, continuing in his explain what her position would be.
"Well, your official title would be Voice of the Storm Dragon. Duties would be to be my face and word out in the open- visiting other gangs with an entourage, setting up treaties, etcetera. You'd have the same power as me to make friends or war solely on your word, and only my namesake would keep me higher than you. It's sorta like…sorta like a secretary of defense, but with a little more kick-ass in it."
He grinned, taking a bite of his food and chewing slowly before glancing up at her.
"It would also mean you would need to pass induction, which is a shedding of your blood for the group in combat before acceptance. Sort of…spartan, I suppose, but it gives the men meaning and strength. Lets them feel…connected. Plus, you can show off your moves to me again."
A wink, followed by another bite.

Les filled two glasses with water and set them at the table. She took her seat, picking up her fork and twirling some spaghetti around said fork. She listened to his explanation, nodding slowly as she processed it. She took a bite of the spaghetti, the first real meal she'd had since leaving the facility, and relished it. It was approximately two and a half days to get from here to the facility on foot, so it had been a long couple of days leading up to her arrival.
"Alright. It gives me an official-type mission, gives me something to do. It's productive and good. I accept."
She twirled another fork full of spaghetti and popped it in her mouth, chewing slowly.
"When's the induction?"

David nodded casually as she accepted, but in his head, he was beaming.
Fuckin' right your staying here. Fuckin' right your gonna be my woman voice. Shits going DOWN.
David took a drink of water, thinking a moment.
"Probably tomorrow. Anna will be the one you fight to take her position. She's a great girl, and might make a good personal assistant if you need one."
David watched Olesya for a few moments, not taking a bite. If she noticed his staring, he would give a small smile before leaning back in his chair and letting out the smallest of breaths.
"This all feels so…sudden. One minute, you weren't here, and the next…"
He went silent a moment, looking her over casually. He leaned forward and began digging back into his food, spinning his fork to wind his food back up. He wanted to tell her. He didn't know if, perhaps, the things the doctor had done while she was away would change things for her, or if she had ever even felt the same as he did. But every time he was with her, he came close to…something, but was never able to finish a sentence in that area.
He needed to tell her, before they were interrupted again.
Yet, he ate on.

Olesya nodded at the instruction, she would have to fight the spry little thing that had come into the war room to deliver the news to David. Les was confident she could take her, in fact she welcomed the battle because it had been a long time since she'd fought. Once she won, she'd offer the girl a PA position if she wanted it. She mulled these thoughts over as she ate her food, only catching on that David was staring after a minute or two.
She straightened up in her chair, taking a long drink of water as she steadied her gaze on him.
"And the next what?"
She asked, quirking her eyebrow as she looked at him, setting her glass back down. Her fork was poised over her food but she didn't move, curious of what he had to say.

David stared at her a moment long, then the corner of his lips would turn up. He would take another bite before setting down his fork and wiping his mouth on his napkin. He would slide out his chair and walk around the table, taking her hand and pulling her up and out of the chair.
"C'mon. I want to show you something."
He would grab his house key off the coffee table and, leaving their food, would take her out the door. Putting his hand gently around her waist, he would lift them both into the sky and head toward the other end of Dragon Territory, toward the Sea.

Olesya gave him a curious expression that turned to confusion as he pulled her from the chair. Her fork fell to her plate in a clatter and he whisked her off with the vaguest explanation anyone had ever given her. He wanted to show her something, and it couldn't wait until they were done eating? Talk about spontaneity. However, Olesya trusted David enough to let him lead her to wherever it was they were going. In no time they were out the door, David grabbing her waist and taking off into the sky.
"Whoa!"
Still not used to the idea of flight, Olesya froze briefly, throwing her arms around David's neck and holding on for dear life. He would never drop her, probably, but it didn't make it any less shocking! And where we they going, anyway?
