Maybe North of Huntington Park. North of the Dragon's territory. A figure sat on a large slab of a piece of rubble from an old "Toys 'R' Us." Next to it was a destroyed "Target" store... and an equally crushed "Starbucks."
Two years.
Two years since their "Fate" as a people had been sealed. Just about a full two years since the missiles came on down, all over the world. Two full years of a world nearly totally dominated by Barker's widespread forces. Watching once normal people getting enslaved, conscripted... and beginning to accept Barker's rule as the norm.
Two years ago, they had nearly lost everything.
"Teal" looked out about in the rubble. The area was nostalgic to a story... an old friend had told him about. He half-frowned, recalling the cheesy story... about a calculator or something. And a dog. The husky was irritatingly adorable, something the grouchy German couldn't bring himself to stand.
He found himself staring out into the clouds for a bit, as the sun grew warmer in its dying hours. The orange light that peered through the clouds made the one-eyed German squint with displeasure, as he stared... in its general direction.
Ever since then, having gone... underground, unlike the rest of Militia, unlike the Crows... he had come to know a very lonely experience. Surrounded by sociopaths and psychopaths was normal. He, he of all of that bastard's compatriots, had volunteered to "go missing." The only boon was that Richard had haphazardly decided to join him in the crucial, defining last minute.
...
...It had been a while, but the teal-haired German had once again donned his S.S.-esque uniform. Like "Unfettered," he was missing one of his eyes. Unlike that bastard, he was missing his right eye. His cap still fit over him... but more roughly so. His hair had grown out a lot more since he didn't bother as much to maintain it... but never to the girlish lengths that his commander had let his out to be.
In spite of his conspicuous attire, though, the German was in a seemingly empty area. Most of it had already been pillaged... and the area was getting increasingly contested between Crows, the Gods, and Barker... but it was yet unclaimed. For this German, who had stayed with the Rogues as long as he had... he had begun to pick up on some of their stealthy mannerisms. No one would have seen him enter the area... and he would work to ensure no one saw him leave it.
But why leave relative safety?
...In a grumpy silence, the German would crouch, with the rubble at his rear, scowling at the hot concrete ground.
Nostalgia. Boredom...
Perhaps a promise.
Was it at this store that "Unfettered" had gotten that silly dog? Probably not, it was far too much to the north, from where the ruins of 259 stood. But having not seen his real commander in so long...
His elbows would rest, uneasily, still scowling. He scooted himself on the rubble... to a still standing wall, providing himself with some light shade... and to help himself blend in more with the darkness of the shadows themselves.
---Though, if anyone stared at him outright... he'd stick out, like a sore thumb. Good thing that wasn't the case---(Hair Is Longer Than Depicted In Picture) (Uniform Is Less Blatantly Nazi-esque Than Depicted In Picture)

Many things have happened since she left. Perhaps the biggest event was losing loved ones to the hell that was unleashed all over the world. Her beautiful daughter, who had been in daycare at the time, and her beloved adopted parents, who were on vacation to visit extended family in New York City. And those were only the confirmed deaths- she had been unable to get in contact with family members overseas. Chicago felt no different than Long Beach when all of this was happening. Fights were breaking out, so called "Experiments" were parading down on the government, Qi being casted left and right...things just weren't the same anymore. She had no time for mourning; instead, her brother started up a rebel group and she spent much of her time with him and Andrew. They were sent out on missions almost daily, to look for any survivors and mitigate any potential threats. This only lasted a couple months; when a bomb went off and killed more than half their members, Reita- her brother- pulled her out of future missions out of fear of losing his baby sister. This was a frustrating time for her because no field experience meant no growth; she managed to maintain her physique, but there was no development. So what was she doing in California? How did she get here, and why was she alone? In the rebel group, there was a Qi user that had something like teleportation. It broke down the person on a molecular level and transferred them to a different location. The only problem was, where the person was transferred to was largely unknown; the only thing he knew about his ability was that they teleported to a place they had once been before. Some were teleported to the hospital they had been born in, others at the grocery story where they frequent. Long story short, Mitsuki wanted to get into contact with her parents, and took the chance that it might take her to Japan. Reita couldn't go, because the group needed him, and Mitsuki needed some freedom from his grasp. She got his permission, but mostly because she wouldn't take no for an answer. Besides, Reita had the Qi of being a dream walker- they would get into contact whenever the two were sleeping simultaneously. So, although she wanted to be in Japan, she ended up here: in California, amidst rubble. The place was largely unfamiliar because of its destruction, and as a result it took Mitsuki more than a couple minutes to finally realize she was where she didn't think she'd be. Was it "fate" that brought her here, near such familiar faces? Her eyes landed on the canine whom she had adored, and the figure next to him. She was a bit far off, to the side; she would probably be in his peripherals. She didn't recognize him at first, but his style of clothing was all too familiar. He had changed, but then again it had been two years since she had seen him. Everyone had changed, especially with the world's population dwindling as each day passes. Her hair had grown longer; that was perhaps the only noticeable change. She had a couple scars from previous battles, but were hidden beneath clothing. She had taken to wearing all black, simply because Mitsuki moved mostly during the night. She whistled- the signal for "come". Skye's ears would have perked, back straightening. She did it a second time, then waited.

The Raven Lies ...The German's entire back would have froze, his hackles standing up at the very distinct, recognizable whistle. He looked down at the husky... who had strangely done the same. "Teal" frowned at the dog as they shared a look for a moment, before the husky turned around at the second whistle... and began to pad off in the direction of the call. The German's gaze appeared to go blank as he quietly pushed himself off the ground, reaching under the back of his overcoat, drawing out a black bowie knife...
...Watching Skye trot off, sniffing in the air. The husky froze for a moment and then sped off, racing towards the source. The only time that "Teal" had ever seen Skye act this way was towards "Unfettered"... or intruders.
The German looked up, pulling back his cap to identify who could have drawn the attention of the dog, ready to rush on over... and stopped. The figure had long, dark brown hair, all dressed in black. For a moment, "Teal" could have sworn it was a Rogue that had tailed him... or one of the Dragon's spy-assassins. Or even one of Crow's Tengu squad. However, the attire matched nothing that the German had ever seen, uniform as it was. It matched with absolutely nothing he had ever in the local area.
Five seconds.
---Skye would suddenly jump up from his charge, paws crashing onto the person's thighs, licking at her hands, if he didn't outright knock over the target.
The German had only noticed the charge and had begun racing over himself, his knife pulled out and at the ready, ready to slam the long, dark knife into the chest of the figure, his expression cold---

When Skye came running, and she accepted his love openly. She stumbled back a bit and nuzzled her nose into the fur of Skye, scratching him above the ears and giving an ever so quiet chuckle. She had missed him, dearly, and was more than pleasantly surprised to see that even after two years, the whistle commands still worked. But it was unfortunate that she didn't have more time to spend reuniting with her dog, because a glint caught her eye and she saw a man - whom she had originally thought was "Unfettered" - to be running in this direction. His cold expression made Mitsuki slowly drop the smile she had been carrying; her right foot slid back and she braced herself for an oncoming attack.
Mitsuki whistled again, a different pitch- "Sit."
She pulled out what looked like a gun. The black weapon was sleek in appearance, and not exactly harmless but could do some damage if used correctly. It was a BB gun...quite a dangerous toy.
Wasn't "Unfettered", wasn't "Thrush"... Her heart kind of fell; she had thought she found a familiar face...but...
What the bloody hell was he doing with Skye, and why wasn't "Unfettered" there instead? Why was Skye's companion a complete stranger?

Edit: Typos!A Wall Of Lies ...The man's right foot came to a stomping skid, halting his forward momentum as he looked at the woman pull out what appeared to be a gun. His teal eye stared... in absolute shock. Skye was licking at this person. Happily. The downward held knife at his side lowered and the man composed himself into a calmer stand, staring at this woman in her eyes and then down at her gun. Then he stared at her eyes again and scowled visibly, walking up to five feet from her. He was of similar, if not the same height as his commander and with a similar facial structure... but the expression he wore would be foreign, his eye stern."Dumpfbacke!" he spat at her, raising up a down-turned hand, dismissively at her weapon."Ich call your bluff. Gunpowder doesn't vork anymore, thanks to Barker."Irritably, he reached back and sheathed his knife behind himself again, turning his gaze down to Skye. Skye who had been... busy, still licking furiously at the hands of his old master, panting wildly... until he was whistled to sit. His ears had perked up and he had backed up a few feet, sitting obediently, a foot in front of her, wagging his tail.
A whistle would come from behind the dog, to "come" and Skye would look back, tilting his head, confused. The whistle... was the exact same. The one that Mitsuki had used... the one that "Unfettered" had used.
However, the man's attention was quickly placed back on the woman... who he approached at the right flank, adjusting his black gloves over his hands.
It was as though he was trying to remember. And his expression seemed to steam, vulgarities and put-downs boiling in his throat, wanting to burst out. His teeth were bared, as he continued walking at her right shoulder---
---to pat her on the shoulder. He would be standing, facing the opposite way, still bristling, but a sense of calm coming over him, glaring into the fading light, to a wreckage beyond their current position."Zis area ist to fall under surveillance if ve linger vith such a large group. Zer ist a ruined Dominoes ve can take shelter in."

BANG. She shot the ground, a white pellet shooting out. What he may not have noticed, however, was that she hand carved these pellets so they weren't completely round. They had jagged pellets. She did not appreciate him talking to her in such a demeaning manner. Her eyes went cold and face blank as she put her toy away. Because this was a BB gun and used air, she used it for close quarters combat alone. She was initially uninterested in this guy, regardless of what connections he might have to "Unfettered". She was just going to take Skye and leave, until she heard a familiar whistle.
Why was he using the same commands?
Her eyes darted toward the German, displeasure crossing her face. A part of her hoped that Skye knew the hierarchy of masters here. If he didn't, she would seriously be pissed and feel so...sad. Is sad the right word? Yeah. But then again, she wondered, looking down at her furry companion, if Skye felt abandoned when she left for Chicago.
If this took place in Chicago, Mitsuki would have shot him in the other eye- not for his offensive language, but because he pat her on the shoulder, and she hated being touched by strangers. But, when his hand landed on her shoulder, she would be still. She felt off. She didn't like how much he closely resembled "Unfettered", even with the eye patch. Impassive eyes would look over her shoulder and she would be caught off guard. Blech. Now that she was close to him...? She mentally sighed. She had no choice to follow him, because he was right, and she had questions to ask. So she would follow him.
"You better be the only one in this area that knows those commands."

Quickening Night The shot on the ground had made the German's eye bulge uncomfortably. But then his eye would rest upon what appeared to be a white pellet...
He would scowl at that, realizing he hadn't thought of that before, in rather begrudging respect for the creativity, before he proceeded to resume the rest of his motions.
...It was certainly a look he was giving her though. Perhaps he was really enjoying that spiteful expression she was giving him underneath his deadpan exterior. Perhaps. But he soon let go of her shoulder, looking past behind her... and whistling at Skye. 'Follow.' The young husky would perk up, getting back onto all fours... but look at Mitsuki again. The German faced forward again, grimacing in further displeasure... though the dog irritated "Teal," he would hate to get usurped of his posiiton in the pack when "Unfettered" finally wasn't around.
The husky would... pad up behind Mitsuki, licking at her leg, ready to follow. Its beautiful blue eyes were staring, craving affection. Without warning, the German would begin to stalk off in a slightly hurried march, towards the Dominios. However, his pattern was trained, hugging against the walls, walking where there was mostly shade, hurrying his pace in open areas. He would stop and look back... perhaps a little more frequently, hoping to make sure that the girl and Skye were keeping in good pace behind him.
Up to the first building... he would ignore her question.
By the time they had sped over to the second building, he would stop, crouched, peering over the corner, before looking back at her. His expression was purely deadpan."In zis area. Das only other ist South-West from here."However, the German looked troubled. After the fourth building, the orange sky had quickly grown darker, and the shattered Dominos was in sight. Only then would he stop, just moments prior... and look sternly at Mitsuki. Practically scowling again."How das hell did du get here?"...But then, he would look forward again, and then dart one final time to the Dominos, where the door was wide open. The Dominos' windows would be barricaded with uprooted tables, its broken glass swept to underneath the south-eastern corner of the room. The counter had a large hole in it, where a larger, gaping hole could be seen in the ceiling... shrapnel from one of the larger missiles. In the center-most area of the room was a still-rooted round table, with three aluminum chairs that clearly did not belong to the restaurant here, along with several bottles of empty whiskey on top.
He would look back, waiting for the two of them to get in, and then close the door after the two. Then he'd march right on up to the table, pull away the furthermost chair slightly, and sit himself down in it, staring up at Mitsuki, expectantly.

OOC: Accidentally...exited....and lost post. It was strangely reassuring to know that Skye stayed beside her. She had invested emotionally so much into her companion when others might think it foolish. But there really was no one more loyal than him; he had been with her through her worst. She would crouch down to Skye's level and nuzzle herself into him, whispering sweet nothings despite the German already setting foot toward Dominoes. With one last scratch, she stood and followed him quickly, her feet light - and would have been silent if it weren't for the eerie quietness of the area. His ignoring of her question was confirmation that yes, he was the only other person that knew. She was actually quite surprised, though- Skye was taught to take orders from only select people. Why did "Unfettered" teach another person such orders, unless he knew he was going to disappear? Or...... She brushed off the thought. Memories of her first meeting with "Unfettered" - not "Thrush", but "Unfettered" - from the Masquerade Ball. Heh. Quite the interesting turn of events; she had gotten jealous of the girl in black, but had no place to feel such things because it wasn't as if she wasn't with someone at that ball either- but the memory was a fond one. It seemed that she and the German already had this amicable relationship! They were so open minded to each other, letting the other know their thoughts (aka things that bothered them), even though it wasn't the time to chat. At least, not until they got inside. Her eyes landed on the broke Dominoes, unsurprised by it's shambles. Everything in Chicago looked like this, and she didn't expect anything different here. She stepped in with Skye behind her, while the German closed the door and promptly took a seat...waiting. "I was teleported here."
Blunt, straight to the point. All the information he needed, since everything else was unrelated. "Where's "Unfettered"? And Asiv, Toshiba, David Blaze, Leon Sudeki?" she listed names. "Who are you, and why were you with my dog?"

OOC: Augh, I HATE it when that happens.A Dog Never Lies The German stared up at the girl, before... seemingly more out of obligation more than anything else, waved his hand to one of the other open chairs. His lips were tight... but his eye widened slightly at how nonchalant this lady said that she had been 'teleported' here. However, aside from this, the German would repurpose his extended hand to brush at his opposite shoulder, his gaze becoming skeptical... because he could hardly allow himself to look amused. The pressure on his muscles might have very well cracked his face.
Immediatly though, he himself was barraged with questions, to which, the German began to frown at, almost immediatly... especially in the presumably monotone way in which the girl spoke at him. His dust-sweeping hand was moved to his collar, adjusting it... irritably."Preferably, Fräulein, before asking questions, ve greet und ask each uzzer our names," he replied, more than a little haughtily. He cleared his throat, shaking his head... to open his eye to stare at her with that unfamiliar eye."But as it shtands, Ich know who du are, Mitsuki Park, or who du vere. Vith your patience, Ich will answer your questions in das order du asked zem in since Ich believe zat vill make more sense."He stared up at her... when Sky trotted over to him and rested his head rather comfortably on the German's left thigh. This elicited a scowl from the German, but Skye was... rather insistent. The German muttered, annoyance lacing his words, before pointing up... and then southward, towards the south-west of their location."'Unfettered' ist to das South-West of here, South of Long Beach, now known as das Crow's Nest. Und to fill out why: He ist known as a Zero---a founding member---of das Organization zat stands in rebellion of Barker, known as Crows. He ist one of its prime leaders."...There was an unmistakable... resentment in the way the German spoke, referring to "Unfettered." His words simmered, but there was a forced calm that seemed to pervade... with something not as open. Or maybe, as Mitsuki was quickly learning, this man simply didn't like people.Asiv vas... reclaimed by das Crows in das months following the global missile attack, but vas seen going to both uzzer organizations."A distrustful look of displeasure came across the German's face as he looked in the direction of the Crow's Nest as he seemed to brood over the name 'Asiv.' His hand slid over to one of the bottles, picking up one of them as though expecting a little bit to remain in them. He appraised the whiskey bottle with his eye and frowned harder, not knowing what else he was expecting to find, before continuing."Ve have been unable to track anything regarding Toshiba. He ist probably a missing person...
"As for das Dragons, they've done similar to das Crows und claimed territory North-West from here. Last Ich heard, David vas being treated as more of the priority leader of das Dragons. However, das presence of Matthew Amtrum was confirmed... for a little while, und Herr Sudeki is apparently back from das dead, after Mr. Asiv's apparent... report of das Lightning Dragon's death."More scowling. This information had taken a while, and the strain on the stern German's face showed how irritated he was, listing all this out. ...When he finally pointed at himself, up at his chin."Und as for who Ich am, Ich don't exist, und "Unfettered" stated zat he---" looking down at Skye for this one to identify who he was referring to--- "---apparently missed me too much, so ve met in private a few moments prior."Skye looked perfectly happy where he was begging for the man's attention, tail wagging. He would press his nose at the man's gloved hand that was rested up on his thigh. The German looked perfectly unhappy, looking down at the dog.

His first words to her sounded awfully familiar, and it was then when she realized she had said the same once before, but to whom she didn't remember. Was it Coughdrop? Regardless, she was starting to think that this German really didn't like her. Whether it was because she trumped him (or so she thought) in hierarchy with Skye, or if it was because she didn't fit his standard of what common courtesy was.
She took a seat opposite of the German, back straight in near perfect posture. Some might have thought she had a stiff back, but Mitsuki found it easier to get into action in case there was a surprise attack. She was in unknown territory, and this run down Dominoes wasn't exactly the greatest fortress. That, and the sun was going down and soon it would be dark- she and Skye would be okay, with her infrared and Skye's heightened senses (just 'cause he's a dog), and she was sure that this German probably knew his way around…not saying he was a liability, it's just Mitsuki didn't like just being "okay".
And he knows her. Well, this was slightly uncomfortable, because she was curious on how he knew her…but when he began to list the whereabouts of her past comrades, she figured she was just mentioned in passing by one of them. And besides- if this guy was with Skye, then she figured it would have been a given that he would know who she was. Who, other than "Unfettered" would know the whistle commands anyway?
She did not like, however, when she asked for his identity, that he would reply with, 'I don't exist'. She found that to be a cop-out answer and a deflection to prevent Mitsuki from knowing who he really was. Her face, impassive, but her thoughts were running.
She didn't know what she was doing here. She didn't have a place to stay, didn't have any of her belongings, except the clothes and items she wore, gas mask hanging from the side of her hip, her comrades were in territories where if she crossed into them, who knows who she'll run into? They might think her a trespasser if she doesn't run into the right person.
Heck, the entirety of California was probably unrecognizable to her now because everything was destroyed; rubble. Her main source of transportation when she was here was by car…but the roads are too crappy and engines just don't work. So the question was, what does she do now? She couldn't return- and that was the point. She was supposed to be in Japan, find her family, and basically live to protect them. But she's in California, with allies from the past but scattered all over.
Blech. "Zero"…who came up with that name for "Unfettered"… She figured that would be her next stop.
"I don't suppose I'll be attacked for posing a threat, when I walk into these territories…?" she asked, taking the assumption that, if not verbally, he would catch that she said when she waltzed into the territories, and not if.

Night Time Geography The German's fingers finally slipped to the side of Skye's nose... and pushed him towards Mitsuki. She looked relatively uncomfortable with the way the German situated... but was not otherwise aggressive in her demands for information. It was a sign to the German that whatever mission or objective Mitsuki was trying to accomplish... its importance had nothing to do with him. A good sign. And probably a tell that she was an outside player in all of this... but still, the German held himself warily.
Skye, being pushed away finally, settled for resting at Mitsuki's feet. Without the distraction, the German torqued his upper body onto the table to look at this girl solemnly. Because then she threw a question at him that would have made him chuckle if that wouldn't physically incapacitate him."As Ich said, das Dragon's territory ist headed by David Blaze. Du may get arrested by patrols by walking freely, but du shouldn't be attacked." he noted, with as much glee as could be ascertained of Mitsuki getting arrested by an old friend without physically smiling."On Barker territory, any patrols du see are equipped to capture und enslave people for forced indoctrination, so far as our scouts have been able to tell," again, alluding to his interactions not being so limited as to just himself. However, with how carefully he was otherwise holding himself, the German could perceivably have been dropping these hints on purpose.
Maybe to allude, that perhaps he was indeed an ally to her.
Perhaps."Du vill be velcomed on Crow's territory, though du may get similarly apprehended, like on das Dragons' lands.
"About ze only areas zat Ich can not recommend vould be Barker's, das Gods territory, und das rogue Experiments. Das former ist hostile, und das latter zwei ve know too little about, though 'Unfettered' ist trying to broker negotiations vith das Gods for an alliance or a commonality pact.
"Das only lands du vill not be questioned vill be on these unconqoured, neutral territories, und das Hirotaki Shrine.---"The German stood up. Squinting. He reached across his uniform, pulling down the zipper slightly, reaching for something... as it was getting much darker. He would stare at Mitsuki and then the back of the store.
Night time, after all, was the best time to travel... but since all of the sneaky people and surveillance spies knew that, it perhaps made it just that much more dangerous. He pulled out a flashlight and a scroll of colored paper from his jacket, still looking at Mitsuki."Bitte," he asked, with a tone of reluctant obligation in his voice, "If das Mitsuki Park vishes to go somewhere safely, Ich will... assist du on planning out your logistics."He dangled the small flashlight, giving her a stare that seemed to say, 'But we must hide our light.'

It was good to know that she wouldn't be attacked, but honestly...you just never know. His words were only, if at all, a little reassuring. He wasn't saying that she should go without being aware and keeping her guard up, probably because it would be implied to be on the defensive regardless of location.
So the territories were split as followed, from what she had just gathered: Crow's, Dragon's, Barker (gods territories? Were these the same 'gods' she ran into, back in high school...?), and the neutral. And with these territories were alliances, and she couldn't help but to pick out specific words that came out of the German's mouth- 'our scouts' and 've (we) know'... For someone who didn't exist, he must've had quite a few comrades.
So then, there was the question...
"Where does your alliance stand?" Or in other words, who did he work with? Why was he alone at the moment, with Skye no less? Why did he and Skye have to meet in private...?
And afterward.
"What is the relationship between the Crows and the Dragons?" she asked. She needed to know because it would be important for her. If "Unfettered" was with the Crows, and David Blaze was with the Dragons, then she would have to make a trip to both. She had parted with both on a good note, and it would be a shame for her not to at least pop in and say hello. Common courtesy, even in the midst of danger.
She watched as he pulled out a map and a flashlight. Watched as he looked at her, then to the back of the store, where her eyes also followed. From her infrared, there was no one there- no heat, just a vast emptiness. But still...
His words of assisting her in planning the logistics, she was thankful for. But she would also have to make sure not to depend too holistically on the German, for he didn't even exist. That, and logistics didn't necessarily mean he would physically be there to guide her. But if he wasn't, she would understand, for although there was great power in numbers, there was also a greater increase of risk.
She matched his gaze and gave a single nod, her eyes lowering to the map.

The Benefits Of Non-Existance For a moment, the German looked back at Mitsuki... but then he turned around again and began walking towards the back to explore it.
The back area had been cleared out of machinery. Whoever had stayed here before was long gone, their duffel bags left sprawled out in a hurry. Four of them, three of them with blood. Dust had settled on them, undisturbed, something that the German noticed with... a very keen sense of sight as he narrowed his eye at the darkening ground. It was as though he had spent the last year and a half underground or something.
In the corner were musky smelling baskets, long rotten past the point of being broken down, the oven kept in place with a broken oil lamp next to it. Glass bulbs, shattered into bowls with their atenna twisted into strange, figurine shapes could be seen placed on top of the oven.
To the right and towards the entrance was the remains of the General Manager's office, with its door missing. Its computers ransacked, its broken spinning chair left in the corner in shambles, its wheels placed neatly along with it.
Whoever had stayed here before had been very meticulous with the clean-up, a sense of OCD felt in how put away the broken down desk was. But most importantly, the back room had no windows... and the back door was still secure. The ceiling and walls were intact. Total darkness. Perfect for using a flashlight and not having their position blown to whoever might be watching them.
At this, the German walked on back, waving her over, frowning."Doesn't exist," he finally responded, and curtly to her first question from four minutes back. "...As for das Dragons und Crows...
"Friendly vould be ze best vord. Areon Fury, das Wind Dragon was also one of the founding members (anuzzer Zero), along vith Kiyoshi Akechi. Zer has apparently been strain between das Dragons und das Crows in das recent past, but things seem to be settling now.---"
Interrupting himself, he unbuttoned his overcoat and looked at her, frowning. Perhaps he was cold. A bit of fog blew out of his mouth, as he hugged his left arm across his chest, his overcoat hanging in the grips of his right hand which was extended out towards Mitsuki, with the camera and map between his fingers.
"Catch," he said, tossing the overcoat to Mitsuki. If she didn't... it might land rather perfectly on Skye, who would look up, confused, before reaching back with his mouth and pulling the coat off his back. The German was left with a thin, tight-hugging wife beater, which revealed a very... thin body. He did not look as underfed as some of the others, but the amount of lean muscle suggested that he at least was reliant on some sort of support for resources to sustain his current physical capabilities. With his flashlight and map hand, he beconed her over and huddled himself backwards into a corner and into a crouch, along with his overcoat. If Skye was the one to "catch" it, he would whistle at... their dog and snap his finger twice, pointing at his overcoat. Skye would respond by happily padding on over and bringing the overcoat over.
Meanwhile, the German was unfurling the map before them on the ground and gestured with his now free hand for Mitsuki to crouch with him over the map. With his overcoat back, he would put it over both of their heads and then sink low to the ground...

Light flashed, revealing the map.
(Not all information on the site map is available on this map, but has the Dragons, Crows, Gods, Neutral, and Barker's forces noted down on it. Strongholds are only marked for the Dragons, Crows, and Gods. Everything else is presumably Barker's)
"...Verdammit, Ich nearly gave du das wrong instructions..." he grumbled, staring down at the map. There would a good foot of space between their heads...
...Before Skye popped his head underneath with them as well, paws on the edge of the map, panting happily.

Her eyes followed after him as he got up to explore the back of the building; she was able to see his figure perfectly through her contact lenses, which were customized and still faithfully active even after years of use. His lingering and observations of the dark back room made her wonder if she was supposed to follow him. That thought was answered when he returned, waving her over whilst answering her first question on where his alliance stood. Of course. The benefits of nonexistence.
She nodded at his reply when it came to answering her question on the relations between the Crows and the Dragons. It was good that they were on friendly terms- she had only hoped that they wouldn't prompt her to choose a side, either, not that they would ask because perhaps she was not "worthy", but still…she hoped it would not come down to that.
When he started unbuttoning his coat, she had a feeling he would give her his coat, but said nothing just in case he didn't. The German was unpredictable. But his coat, hanging from the grips of his right hand, was then tossed in her general direction which she had caught. Her eyes did a quick once-over glance at the German, and inwardly sighed. She could still feel the warmth from his body emanating from the coat, but by the way he was dressed, she figured he would need this more than her. Besides- Mitsuki was dressed for cold weather. Unlike California, which was above 50 degrees nearly all year round, Chicago had days when it was below zero. She had on several layers, one being the Kevlar Security Suit (looked like a hood) that Asiv had given her, and another being her leather jacket. If her face was cold, she could always just put on the gas mask, but she now was just…not the right occasion.
The near malnourished figure wasn't one of surprise- everyone in the freaking world had gotten thin. WIth no mass food production, people were getting by with whatever they could find; bark, leaves, common herbs… For Mitsuki and the rebel group in Chicago, they had taken to fishing in Lake Michigan. Couldn't do it anymore, because it was too cold but not cold enough to freeze the water over.
She wouldn't throw the coat back on him; instead, when she crouched down, she would swing the coat back onto the German so that it would lay, initially, loose across his shoulders, before her hands would come up to the collar and gently tug it down, tightening it around him.
"You're very considerate, but please take care of yourself."
Her eyes adjusted fairly quickly to the sudden light before looking down at the map, taking note that from where they were, the Dragons' territory was the closest. Interesting. She had hoped to visit the Crows first, to talk with "Unfettered", but in terms of efficiency, it might be better if she just went south. Also, the Crow's Nest seemed to be surrounded by Barker Territory, and she assumed it would not be a fun nor safe travel there. By foot, it would take anywhere between 1-3 days, depending on her pace and the potential distractions she would face (aka unfriendlies).
"Will you be joining me, or are you expected elsewhere?" meaning, would he go with her, to visit the Crows and the Dragons, or because of his lack of existence, will he depart after tonight? She was asking for confirmation. Because judging by what he had just said, it seemed that she would be travelling alone- which was no problem for Mitsuki.

Hiding The Light No Really, HIDE THE LIGHT ...The German would feel his coat being swung about his back and onto him... before her small hands slunk up to his collar, pulling his overcoat tightly over him. "Teal" stared up at her reciprocated kindness... and twitched uncontrollably with his left eye."...Over our heads. Hide das map und das light."His voice was very controlled. If he was a cartoon character though, fumes would be seen coming from his ears. Putting the map and light down for a moment, he pulled the coat again over the shoulders (and shivered involuntarily at the draft of cold air that once again snuck up under his armpits) and threw his overcoat over both their heads. His hands reached from underneath the coat over to Mitsuki's shoulders. Firmly, he would press down... not to actually push her to crouch with him, but so she would get that she needed to do it herself. Only when they were both crouched would he even consider turning on the light over the map again. All it took was one random person, staring into the darkness of the room the Dominos and they'd be spotted and he would be completely compromised.
Speaking of. Why was he going this far for her?
Probably because he would appreciate it. The thought alone made "Teal" furious, but he was bound to his role.
...The night air was doing well to calm his nerves, though. He resumed looking down at the map, as they went over it. Finally, he looked up at her, at her question."Nein. Ich must do mein job. Und du will no doubt be approached by both organizations to be offered a job.
"...It ist of utmost importance zat du meet vith Delilah Black, if du are concerned for our welfare at all. She will be das future of das allied forces."...He turned off the light. And he looked up at her, scrutenizing. Quickly, without letting his eye leave her gaze, he stared at her, seeing into the darkness with his trained eye, stowing away both the light and his map."...Ich have entrusted du vith zis much. Can du at least tell me why du came here at all?"
