Synchronicity [Levi]

[Kyrie Blaze]

If she was honest, she wanted to stop. But as she just said, their enemies would not let them rest. No, in fact, they would press for their advantage. So she shifted on her feet, bending her knees to change how she was standing a little, and widened her stance.

"Luhdehia."

"Jano famm.."

Levi took a few paces back as he held his hands down at his sides, palms facing Kyrie. He Stared at Kyrie as solid spheres of pale white light began to form within his sphere of influence. Levi spoke softly, "pakeh" as the lights began to move around his body. The spheres soon began to fly towards Kyrie at high speed crashing into whatever they hit as a baseball would, fading away after a few seconds after contact. As each sphere left his santuary, another appeared to replace it only to be launched eventually as well. The sphere's would approach from various angles, some moving in a straight line, others curving towards their target.

Kyrie watched the light swirl and spheres form. She blinked, pulling in a slow, deep breath. She caught the soft word and shot herself into a sideways combat roll, tumbled, and flung herself upwards into a handspring to close the distance, breathing hard for the moment with her exertion.

Thankfully, while her qi was at a low ebb and she was tired, she was used to pushing herself, physically. She wasn't fast enough to evade all of them, but she twisted and rolled her shoulder as one sphere collided, grit her teeth, and slid straight down in an attempt to sweep Levi from his feet, fingers snatching a small amount of sand from the floor as she came up providing Levi wasn't tricksy, himself, and her move was unhindered.

She used her right elbow in a torquing jab for his centre line if he wasn't falling...and followed it up with sand to his eyes.

Again.

Levi's eyes followed Kyrie as she made her move, the true nature of his technique becoming apparent as the spheres seemed to make a blockade, many of the spheres shattering upon impact as her leg smashed into them, though still suceeding in stopping the attack. While his sphere's blocked the kick, Levi watched Kyrie's repeated attempt to blind him. He closed his eyes as she hurled the sand into his closed eye lids and without the sting of the sand in his eyes to distract him, Levi would screen his advance with the remaining spheres as he lunged forward to make a grab for the Blonde's extended leg, his brow furrowing, "The same trick won't work twice, you can do better than that." If he managed to grab her leg, he would pull and turn it outward to get her on her back and attempt to mount her chest as he opened his eyes, his knees tucking into her armpits if all went according to plan.

Levi was familiar with he striking abilities and now her Qi technique, but grappling was a completely different beast, a beast Levi was interested in seeing from Kyrie. Levi began throwing jabs that he believed would adequately test her ability to adapt to this situation without causing significant harm seeing as how the point of this exercise was to test each other, not beat each other.

She could do better, indeed. She didn't move out of range as Levi could easily manage a long range chain of attacks, but instead collapsed her hand back into a fist, elbow held close to her body before her arm snapped forwards as she advanced a step further, aiming to perhaps catch him off-guard so she could reset herself--

It turned out Levi had other plans. As soon as he ducked and his hands grasped her legs, she knew she was in trouble. The fight was going to ground, and she was going to be at a high disadvantage. Using Levi and his lowered stance as slight leverage, Kyrie surged forwards in a leap into him instead of trying to break away, reaching up to hook her hands around his neck, enabling her to bend the knee he caught and pull him downwards, into her. And she used the motion, completely, to shoot her free knee for his chin with it. If she couldn't get that particular strike in, the slender blonde would resort to collapsing an elbow inwards, sharply, to make a point, and add another strike, then a third, planting and bracing her other arm against his shoulder. She did lighten the blows, of course, but the intent was still there.

She already knew there was no way she could overpower Levi - not that that was how she fought - but getting close would put her on better fighting terms in regards to better balancing the gap in physical ability between them.

She did not want to go down. Kyrie was not a grappler, and though she could form an aggressive defence beneath him, the mobility she had was taken away. Her heart thrummed in her chest at a rapid staccato beat, but her mind was - thankfully for the moment - clear and calm despite this situation and her predicament before.

Levi had not expected the charge forward as the blonde's arms wrapped around his neck, If only it wasn't to attempt to plow her knee into his chin! and pulled him off balance. Levi fought the urge to respond with his Qi, he wanted a grappling fight and he was getting one, so he would not squander the opportunity as he quickly engineered a solution. Levi's left palm quickly left Kyrie's leg went to the side of the incoming knee, forcing it off course, the attack still catching his left cheekbone as his strike had no weight behind it, "ah!"


Levi was now in a compromised postion as he was now heading forward and towards the ground, but he was also still heading towards Kyrie with his head right next to her knee, a point in his favor he intended to exploit. Levi's arms went for the attacking leg, wrapping around her thigh with his shoulder on her shin, keeping the leg bent. As he did this, he managed to get his feet back underneath himself to push against the ground and rush forward. If successful, Levi would remain low and slam Kyrie onto her back, with enough force to hopefully allow him to follow-up. If she hit the ground, Levi would release her leg, continuing forward to plant his knee in her gut, making sure to not do any serious harm, but certainly stun her if he knocked the breath out of her.

Kiyr had fully-realized that either way, she was being put into a position that compromised her control, but she had to adjust to accommodate this new development. She kept tension on both legs to give herself a mildly stable base to work with, and as he began to rush forward, slipped her arms down, leaning in. With his grip upon her legs, it still left her torso and arms free, which was what she needed.

She bent low, keeping herself stable, tucking her arms up beneath his armpits, curling into him, even tucking the leg he first caught, inwards. As he pushed off to slam her into the floor, she exhaled and flung her upper body into it, trying to ensure she connected to the floor on a diagonal and not full-on. Her aim was to quickly throw off their combined centre of gravity and add to the motion and momentum, which would hopefully - as her hands would catch where she tucked them to pull his body with - provide her with a roll that would flip her up on top with her weight bearing down somewhat evenly, if awkwardly, against him--the shin he braced against his shoulder digging against his collarbone.

She would have released him with her arms upon coming out of the roll, and if everything had gone well to that point, would be able to strike, hard (enough, as again, the point wasn't to injure) and fast, for his face. His arms hopefully caught beneath the majority of her weight, tangled in her legs, as she would be 'sitting' on him. She kept herself low, realizing his legs were free and she could easily be either turned over or caught if he threw them forwards.

Kyrie's plan worked...for the most part. As she tucked her hand under his armpits and he noticed how she hit the ground, he knew where she wanted this to go. He could do nothing about rolling over and landing on his back, but as they rolled, he released the grip on her leg to free his hands and avoid having them trapped underneath his sparring partner.

*thud*

Dust flew outward from the couple as Levi landed on his back, his arms up and in front to defend as Kyrie landed in position. Stop her now before she gains momentum!Levi quickly rolled his shoulders up as much as he could as his left hand shot out as a tiger strike to Kyrie's throat, taking care to only stun the woman, as began follow-up with a right hammer blow to her collar bone and swift left hook to her ribs. Fighting at a positional disadvantage was excellent pressure training and an opportunity he was relishing.

With Levi's arms unfortunately free, Kyrie kept her eyes wide open to help enable her field of vision to encompass everything. Of course, sight-reactions had their disadvantages, but with Levi's arms not behind up and her hers, some of the 'touch' training she had was lost. Her hands came up, careful to keep them close to her body.

Fortunately, however, she could still feel his body shift beneath hers.

Unfortunately, though, as she held herself lower, it meant his hands had less distance to travel to connect.

Literally, her only saving grace in this was that she had her hands up and ready. Leaning back slightly, pressing a bit more of her weight into the leg she had set against his collar bone, Kyrie angled herself and slid her right forearm as she did so to come in against his and wind in a clockwise motion to direct the momentum to just miss her throat, 'sticking' her arm to his to be able to feel his movement better--but she didn't want to slip her arm from his.

And she hoped that it would extend enough as she tipped forwards, putting weight behind it, that it would stop or mostly prevent the hammer and succession blows.

Her left arm shot down to lightly strike her extended fingers for his throat--or eyes, if he had his chin tucked.

It was difficult, trying to not overbalance.

She was, unfortunately, more preoccupied with the stunning blow, but slid a foot back with her other - the one she was increasing the weight on a little - hooked against his chest. Not the best position, but workable.

Kyrie's defense had worked and as she deflected the tiger strike, Levi ceased his attack in order to better defend. He was fortunate that Kyrie was so close to him due to her size since the knee digging into his collar bone made rolling his shoulders up difficult. As the knife hand came for his throat, his right hand struck her elbow, deflecting the attack to his left and hopefully turning her shoulders and torso as he maintained contact with it to keep her body turned as his left hand snapped back and immediately struck out again, this time targeting the nerve bundle in her armpit.

Levi did indeed rotate her torso, and it was easy to feel the deflection and his swift retraction in preparation to strike again, as her right arm had been pressed against his left.

She went with the motion, turning her striking hand upwards so her palm faced the ceiling, forearm soft so she could roll her arm using her joint against his hand, the elbow coming back in below his hand and arm to guard her center line. She followed because she was not trained to resist, but work with the ebb and flow of motion; and in this, also extended the reach of her right arm for a simultaneous defence as she rolled her arm downwards from his deflection.

'Disenga--!'

The combination of closing down the 'gate' Levi opened would work, but not quickly enough. He still struck, and pain zinged up her arm, earning him a hissed gasp--

--and Kiyr used the strike, planting her foot at his side to use both it, her knee upon his collarbone, and the momentum from her movement and his strike to leap back about a foot or two for a soft reset. She landed lightly, one foot slightly behind the other before she reversed her momentum to push herself into an immediate jump, aiming to have her feet come down upon his chest. Parkour was so ingrained - minimizing effort and strain on the body and its joints - that it would be the balls of her feet connecting before the heels, if she was successful.

With her arm rendered fairly useless - a numb sort of throbbing prevalent - she resorted to other means of attack.

Levi winced as Kyrie jumped off off of his chest, releasing him from what was potentially an advantageous position. He refrained from attempting to get up immediately as he was more than capable of fighting from his position, and he dared not remove his eyes from his adversary. His decision proved to be a wise one as Kyrie had merely retreated to attack quickly once again, "Hela...", Levi's steel eyes followed and his body reacted quickly as his legs tucked up and in, his feet meeting Kyrie's as he continued to raise his legs and push her past him so that she was now moving past his head. If successful, Levi would continue to roll backwards, onto his feet, so that he was now standing with his back to Kyrie, his senses keen on the blonde should she have more tricks up her sleeve.

Levi's head turned slightly to look back at Kyrie,
"That last one was unexpected, I'm glad I kept my eyes on you." She was indeed performing at a level Levi had not expected, but this fact filled him with excitement to know that even though he certainly had the advantage in many areas, her abilities were constantly improving as well and were already refined to a high level, a level that would only continue to rise as they trained together.

Levi was perceptive. And fast.

And with Kyrie committed to her aerial attack, she quickly found her feet connecting with his and began to collapse downwards, one arm flaring out as she adjusted her weight over his feet, the landing one of precision rather than following her momentum. He pushed, and she unfurled her body from the tucked one she obtained, and Kiyr flew.

Up.

The blonde angled herself slightly back to land back more towards where Levi's feet had been, twisting near the apex of her lifted jump to face him.

It would enable Levi to roll if he so chose to do so.

And if he still did, as Kiyr landed, she moved her weight forwards, tucking her still-mostly-numb arm in as she rolled over that shoulder. Her other hand caught the ground to hold herself up as she came out of the roll, elbow slightly bent, the leg on the same side acting to further brace and stabilize herself. The leg she didn't have her weight on shot out in a quickly snapped kick, aiming the sole of her foot for the back of Levi's knee. Her elbow was bent so she could move as needed. In the best case that was up to her feet, though she was prepared to collapse should he strike out.

She didn't say anything, which may have been considered cold, but the corners of her eyes crinkled ever-so-slightly. Kyrie was enjoying this, even though the purpose for this was not necessarily enjoyment.

"!" Levi watched in surprise as Kyrie launched herself into the air, escaping what was supposed to be a leg throw, an unexpected defense, but one Levi hoped he could make a winning situation out of. Levi's hands went up and against the floor as he unsed the momentum of uncoiling and the force of the hands against the floor to propel himself into the air, chasing Kyrie with a flying kick aimed for her chin. If he connected, he could turn in the air and bring his hips around to send another kick to Kyrie's chest, sending her back to the ground, though injury was unlikely at this height.

"Ngh!"

The kick connected, though she started to arch her back to slide by, and before she knew it, his leg connected to her chest, and with a hard, exhaled gasp, she flew to the floor.

Though she didn't have quite enough time, landing awkwardly before twisting to divert the momentum. It wasn't proper form, but it was better than just landing and taking the hit.

Panting, she rolled up to her knees and a partial crouch, splaying her hand against the floor, fingers curled slightly. She flicked her hair over her shoulder, blue eyes lifting to connect with his silver ones: watching and waiting. Enough, or more..?
