"Yup. When he attacked I was up in New York. After establishing a refugee camp up there and getting control of the situation since the Government wasn't able to handle New York, I came down here and started doing the same thing."
Shugo would motion for Mitsuki to follow along. There was a reason he had come to the school, and he wouldn't stop until his mission was completed.
"How about you? What are you doing around here? Even most of the citizens fled."

Interesting. Really interesting. She would fall into step beside him.
"I was in Chicago up until a week or so ago. I was School Captain of 259...thought I'd pay a visit."
She knew he didn't mean what she was doing at 259. He probably meant what she was doing in California...but unless he clarified himself, she wouldn't answer.
Because...she didn't really have one.

Shugo would pull a tactical flashlight off of his belt and turn that on as they walked, point it at the floor in front of the so they didn't step into any holes bump into rubble. The last thing he needed was for Mitsuki to have to carry him because he broke his leg on half of a locker or something.
"That's cool. I used to be School Captain over at 552 before graduated."
Shugo would speak while looking over at her instead of forward at the ground.

Huhhhh. Seems like the two of them had something in common.
"...so what're you doing visiting 259?"
She had near perfect vision at night. But she wondered...if he was looking at her, why the flashlight was even on...?

SLAM! Shugo would land face first, well side of the face first, onto the ground. That my friends is why we look where we are walking. The flashlight in his hand slammed down, the casing itself fine but the batteries shorting out at the crash. The boy got himself back up onto his feet and rubbed his jaw.
"Soooo let's pretend that didn't happen."

"Well. I haven't seen this friend of mine in a while. But one day somebody drops off a letter from him at my mansion. He's sent me on some sort of wild goose chase all over California which ended up leading me to 259."
Shugo would take out a handmade map and show her. His travels would be marked with a red line going through almost every territory. Shugo sighed.
"It's been pretty exhausting."

Because...judging from the red lines all over the page, that was a lot of travelling.

She didn't understand. If he didn't know what he was supposed to find, how would he know that that was the item if, and when, he found it?
"Is it important?"
She was asking because this guy seemed like ... a dork. Like...someone who would go on a wild goose chase just for the sake of going on one.

Shugo would motion towards the half broken stairs, only the top half was remaining. Taking a running jump, Shugo would land onto the stairs and wait up there for Mitsuki.
"Buuuut. He's my best friend and I owe him my life. Knowing him it's probably something only we could understand."

Unfortunate. She was going to offer her services, but it seemed this journey was for Shugo to take on alone. When he leaped up the stairs, she would remain where she was- no need to follow him, since she had her own work to do.

And as for their bet, which she cleeeaaarly won...
"I'm sure we'll meet again sometime. You owe me."

Shugo would smile as he looked down towards Mitsuki and held his hand out to help her up, mostly because he didn't know how high the girl could jump.
"I could use the help. Don't know how many more guys are out there. Double or nothing for the next batch?"

Hmm... Mitsuki could jump just fine- and she was sure he could take on Barker's men well enough on his own. But because he asked, and since she was in no rush... She would take a couple of steps back to get a running start of her own, pushing off with both legs to reach the latter half of the stairs. She would grab onto his hand and land with a soft thud beside him.
"Deal."
But she still had no idea where to find water purifying capsules.

You know those moments where you do something nice, but look like a jackass instead. Yah one of those just happened to me. She just told me she was the school captain, and yet I had to go and act like the knight in shining armor again trying to help out everyone. I hoped she didn't think I was mocking her or anything by trying to help her up.
"Well let's get going."
I smirked a bit and started walking along, still not quite sure what I was there to find. But I knew there would be little hints to help me look for what I was there to find.
