Brother of Cain (Cain Induction)

[Destiny]

Cain grunted with every blow, a sure sign that they were taking their toll on him. He was lucky he'd taken as little damage as he did from the Dragon, or he would be far worse off. As it was, he was already having trouble breathing easily.

"I'm hoping the answer you're looking for is less of 'do not be fooled by appearances' and more of 'even those you are told to trust deserve watching'."

Despite her strength advantage, Cain would attempt to suddenly turn his body to reverse their positioning, counting on surprise at the moment.

"After all, I know I'll be watching you."

[Kyrie Blaze]

With his size and weight, Cain managed his maneuver..!

"You did not answer, though your answer is not untrue."

She still snapped an arm up, for a straight palm strike to his jaw, even as her heart kicked into her throat. She did not trust Cain, he had not proven anything to her as of yet--and as an unknown entity despite being part of the Dragon Core, she did not want to be beneath him. The quick jolt was, however, ignored. She started this, and so, she would follow through.

"Feel free--you may learn things by watching. As you are now...you can only learn so much from someone that is 'the strongest'."

If Cain rocked back, he would find Kiyr's other fist snapping out for his exposed torso, aiming for his solar plexus.

Cain's head snapped back from the impact, and his vision dimmed. At this point, it was very clear he was outclassed by this woman as well. Even as the fist sailed towards his solar plexus, Cain pushed himself off the ground so that his weight was no longer on Kiyr, bringing himself to a kneeling position beside her, narrowly avoiding the impact that surely would have driven the air from his lungs.

Blood ran freely from his mouth at this point, and with the back of one hand would wipe it away, while holding the other out to her to help her up.

"I am only here to learn."

As Cain pushed off, she used the momentum from the strike to begin pushing herself up. She stared at him in a sitting position, curling her far leg back against her side and bending the one closest to Cain. Her breaths came slow and deep, but he had gave her a good fight, all the same.

She looked at his hand, then gave him a faint, nearly-steeled smile.

"I certainly hope you can grow, or you will not learn much."

Despite her slight nod to him, she did not take his hand, but shifted her weight and limbs to push back up, herself, making a point. Because she was likely to become his Elder, he needed to know that, while she appreciated the gesture, she was more than strong enough to get up on her own. And that she was not to be trifled with.

"Take a moment, and tell me: what do you think I meant, now, when I told you you were being ignorant, and that your thoughts were set on a narrow path?"

She eyed him, slowly, wanting to make sure he understood. Perhaps, even, she may tell him, depending on his own answer.

Cain let his hand linger for a few moments after Kiyr stood up before dropping it, then standing himself. If he was annoyed by this action, he didn't show it, though that was partly because he still held the back of his hand against his mouth.

He did not answer at first, opting to just stand there and bleed for a moment longer. Finally, he let his hand drop away.

"Even the most instructive of lessons can be useless if you are not ready to hear them. I assume you mean that I may not be ready to learn from someone who is so far ahead of me, and that I should not ignore the possibilities of learning from others, as well."

[Kyrie Blaze]

'Close enough.'

Kiyr watched him silently for a moment before giving him a slight nod, and elaborated.

"Practically right, good. 'Just because one is the strongest does not mean you should not learn from others', that is the point I am trying to impress upon you. It does not matter if it is the Earth, Storm, or Lightning Dragon that is the strongest. You would do well to learn from each, as they all can offer you much. The same goes with the other Core members, such as myself. Your view of learning is narrow, so your growth would be stunted; do not close yourself off from opportunity. It would be a sad waste of your potential--of anyone's."

She tipped her head, not quite smiling, but not unhappy. She was serene. Running, fighting...

"...now--ready for more..?"

It could have been anything: she didn't specify what.

Cain gave a nod in return.

"I fully intend on taking advantage of every opportunity presented to me by the Dragons."

It was probably the most truthful statement he'd said since arriving here. At her question, however, he gives a closed-lipped smile.

"I'm ready for whatever you have in mind."

He expected running, but Cain had already learned that his natural assumptions weren't always the correct ones when it came to this one.

Kiyr blamed David and the Sky Force for that; but she turned away and began to walk, setting a placid pace without saying anything to his answer. Good. He'd answered correctly.

And assumed correctly, for now.

She would give him a little bit of a recovery time.

"Do you have any other questions..?"

[Destiny]

"I do."

Cain nodded. It was something he'd been curious about for a while, now.

"The Dragons see each other as brothers and sisters, or so I assume from the titles. What is this family's goal, overall?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

'...he would ask this. Dieu, si seulement Mathew, David, Levi, et Leon étaient là...'

To the opposite side of Cain, Kiyr's lips quirked into a smirk. Though it would be amusing if she had backup singers, she was fine on her own.

"It is to be the very best, like no one ever was~" The blonde began, showing she had a decent singing voice. Nowhere near amazing, but she held the tune and pitch easily and lightly. "To beat them is our real test, to train you is our cause~!"

She never once faltered in her pace, and her expression was peaceful, composed, and calm, as if she had never just been singing the Pokémon song--altered, of course, to fit the Dragons. Welcome to the running gag, Cain.

And suddenly, Cain was struggling very hard not to be rude.

It sounded like she was making fun of him. Keeping his mouth shut, Cain grit his teeth, forcing the corners of his mouth to lift upwards in what passed for an amused smile. If their strength had been reversed, he would've just strangled her right there, but alas, he was forced to keep himself under control.

"Train to beat who, exactly?"

His voice came out surprisingly calm.

Somewhat unaware of the danger, Kiyr hummed a few bars more of the song. Though she would have liked to make a statement by finishing with Pokééémonnnn~

...she didn't.

Instead, she turned her gaze up towards him, gauging him.

"You know, the last person that heard that, passed down from all three Elder Dragons, laughed. And he was not even a Dragon, at that point. I think, perhaps, he got the joke. The Dragons are renown for their strength and power--We are some of the best and most powerful in these areas. And so far the target is Barker. After Barker is dealt with...we move on from there."

"So there's no overall goal, just taking down each threat as it comes?"

Cain lets out a small chuckle. So far, it's not nearly what he had expected.

Cain received a raised eyebrow in response to the chuckle, as it clearly seemed more on the sardonic side.

She simply gave him a small, innocent smile.

"I would not deign to put words in the Elder's mouths on the matter. Each has their own personal agenda, but for the moment, they have come together as a united force against Barker--their goals currently coincide with one another's. If you want their own personal direction, you should ask them."

She didn't say anything about her own apprenticeship. Cain would find out on his own time, but for now, she didn't trust him. He'd not proven himself to her out on the field. He'd proven he could understand and find suitable answers and replies - both with words and with his body in a fight - but until that point, she held the information back.

"I may end up doing that. I haven't met any aside from the one who recruited me."

Cain smiled again, holding his lips closed still.

"So they are all very different in their personalities?"
