Lucien nodded a soft approval of her choice in literature. A philosopher, none could deny.
"I like fantasy, science-fiction, as well as older books about futuristic society. I like how people can make their own little world and play within it.. I've always been envious of that.." He trailed off.
"But, I also like allegorical books, where the hidden message is somewhere between the lines. They fascinate me."

Kyrie herself nodded at his own choices. It was an interesting mix; perhaps they had even read similar books. But for the moment, the blonde didn't question. It was Lucien's latter most statement that had the petite woman speaking.
"Do most books not have a point you can derive from the words..?" It was not a mocking question but there was the allusion of a smile in her tone and if Lucien were to look, there was a glimmer of one in her eyes. Of course, it wasn't true for all books, but quite a few, arguably so. It was after a pause to give her companion the time to respond that she posed a question: "Have you read Huxley's Brave New World, Lucien?"
It was an invite, albeit a sneaky one, to induce more specific conversation upon the subject.

Lucien blinked. Then, smiled.
"I have, twice. An excellent read. It seems we have more in common than I first thought."

With Lucien's reaction gauged, the blonde decided further prompting was necessary. She smiled softly and continued:
"Perhaps, indeed. What others have you read..?"

Lucien pondered a bit. Hmm, which names to drop...
"Well, I've read quite a bit.. Have you read The Fountainhead?" He asked. Man, if she had read his favorite book of all time..

The Foutainhead...Kyrie had to think a moment on that.
"...that is about the Architect, correct..?" Despite the promising start the blonde shook her head, ruefully, her tone holding regret. "I had meant to pick it up but I had not gotten around to it."

Lucien nodded. Pretty much, right?
"The words of the book itself are about an architect. But, the meaning, the words between the lines as it were... They paint a much larger picture." He replied, gazing into the sky, as if he were imagining a grand design, bigger than anything imaginable.
"If only this were just a story, being written somewhere." He mused quietly.

Kyrie smiled to herself, continuing to observe her company and nothing both he thoughtful and wistful tones. She was pegging Lucien for a Dreamer...but hazarded an additional guess he would also be a do-er. If not now, then given a little time and some encouragement.
"Perhaps you would take writing up and ensure all of the stories are being written." She intoned, installing a mirroring echo that Lucien's voice held into her own. It was far, far from mocking, meant more as the gentle encouragement she figured he may need. "I would imagine you would find others suited and eager to do so as well."

Lucien heard her words like a flash of light, shocking him out of darkness.
How could he have been so foolish? Writing... With all these stories in his head, Lucien could only imagine how many he could transcribe. It might even act as an outlet for his compulsions...
"That's... Brilliant." He breathed.
Looking over to her, eyes wide with amazement as well as dumbfoundedness as to how dense he had been, Lucien stared as a child to an adult who had just told him he could stand on a chair to reach the top shelf.
Dang, this girl is good.

Lucien would look up to find Kyrie smiling gently at him. It even went so far as to touch her eyes, this time, and they softened. Within her gaze were appreciation, amusement, and a little bit of pride--all were quietly bespoken. Kyrie was certainly not one to toot her own horn. She was quietly confident in herself which made most people underestimate her, thinking her completely timid. Or weak. And she used it to her advantage.
But there was currently no need for it, here.
She inclined her head, hiding the discomfort of the hefty compliment, the awe. She simply preferred to think of her way of thinking as "creative logic", combining two worlds into one.
"I am happy to have brought the suggestion to your attention."

The smile coming from Kiyr's face, it was a glow that radiated all around them. Lucien had no choice but to smile back with all he had, it was too infectious. For a second, he became shy, but decided that it wasn't needed in this situation. He was definitely among a true friend.
"You should smile like that more often. It's beautiful." He commented softly. It was true, but not meant in any romantic way. Lucien likened it to the way one looked at a bouquet of flowers and called it beautiful.

It was surprising to be blasted by a full-force smile. Perhaps too long she'd gone without her younger sister's effervescence, that Lucien's huge smile was so shocking with its brilliance and complete honesty. The compliment made her scramble backwards, figuratively. It was several moments after that she finally gathered herself enough - rubbing the back of her neck rather sheepishly - to tentatively respond. She could see the way he meant it, it was the compliment itself that surprised and off-balanced her; she couldn't remember the last time she fished for anything of the sort. Certainly, though, Lucien wasn't the only one that was able to catch her off-guard.
"Thank you...I will strive to try, Lucien." She nodded slowly, then steered the conversation from herself: "Do you know of anyone that would help you, off the top of your mind?"

Lucien frowned slightly, becoming more contemplative again, but not wanting to ruin the mood.
"I don't know.. Not many Crows have hobbies like that. Delilah, well, she's a mechanic by trade, and Marcus' hobbies are all physical... I've heard that the Zero has a lot of books, I wonder if he writes, too...? Though, I've only met him once..."
He looked up at the calm sky again, thinking of the odds stacked against him to be able to not only talk to "Unfettered" privately, but to talk about non-Crow business. And to talk about such a topic as writing, Lucien was afraid to be called old-fashioned, or stuck in the old world. Such things, did they have a place in this world?

The edges of Kiyr's eyes crinkled in amusement as Lucien mentioned Delilah...as though being a mechanic negated the joy of the creative arts. She knew Delilah read, because she so aptly pulled a very old, very valuable, book...and gave it to her as a gift. One could not have done that if, in addition to reading people well, one did not have a very deep fondness for literature.
She let him finish, loathe on interrupting him, even for an observation.
"Have you asked Delilah, Lucien..?" She inquired, tipping her head to the side to watch him. She paused to let him answer, then continued, almost ponderously: "Perhaps if I have enough time in the future, you would like my assistance?"

Lucien shook his head, he hadn't asked Delilah, no. More out of the fact that he had just came up with the idea of writing during this conversation, than anything.
Then, he looked over at her, the girl who just offered to help him herself.
"You.. You'd do that?" He asked, genuinely surprised, but happy, at her generous offer.
"I feel like that would be really nice. Thank you."
Smiley faces.
