Lucien walked into his room. Oh, how he missed it. The white walls were bare except for a single shelf, which held a staff identical to the one in his hand. In the room itself, which had a carpeted floor, there was two beds, with sheets and pillows. A desk stood against the wall, separating the two beds. There was nothing on the desktop, and no defining features whatsoever except for a single drawer. A fold-up chair leaned against the wall, beside the desk.
And that was it. That's all there was to Lucien's room. A door led to a bathroom, which was also mostly scarce. One could definitely tell whose room this was, if in fact they had known there was an occupant at all.
Lucien walked in, waiting for Ari to follow through the door before he closed it and locked it. Looking to the boy, with a tired look on his face, stressed from the day's events, he sighed.
"This is my room. You'll be sleeping there for tonight," He pointed to the bed on the right wall. "And then, I guess we'll move out in the morning. If Marcus wants us to go back to Anaheim right away, that is."
And, with that, he shuffled towards the bed on the left wall, eager to get a bit of sleep while the sun was still down. Sitting down on it, he would try to gauge what Ari's reaction to all this was.

Ari kept his silence as the two found their way to Lucien's room, sucking anxiously at the scar on his lip all the while, trying not to think too hard about the situation. The very quiet purr of the sleeping kitten beside his ear helped. It was only once they had entered the room and shut themselves off from the rest of the hectic world that Ari at last realized how tired he was. He made his way toward the bed with a mere nod, not looking Lucien in the eyes just yet.
The teen sat down on the bed with his hands pressed to the sheets at his sides.
He felt like something needed to be said about the sudden and somewhat overwhelming situation, and how this wasn't exactly how he'd expected to see the man again, but he couldn't think. His stormy eyes flicked up for a moment. Lucien looked wrought with stress. Ari couldn't tell exactly what kind. He glanced back down.
"sorry i... lied..."

Lucien wasn't expecting that right away. While trying to think of a way to answer, his mind jumped from all extremes. While it bounced around, all thoughts converging, his head started to pound.
"You don't have to apologize." He said softly.
"You had to protect yourself, too. It's only natural. I just wish..." I just wish you could have trusted me.

Blue-grey eyes moved back up to Lucien's face after the pause of silence trailed on too long, where words should have been, but weren't. Ari studied the man's cryptic visage with a pensive look holding his own. He still couldn't quit read the other's, and the unfinished, unspoken thought complicated it further.
He didn't say anything but his eyes questioned, beckoning for the sentence to finish.

Lucien knew the silence was too long. He could feel the air getting heavier by the second. It weighed down on him, pressing into him. The boy's eyes drilled into him, and he could tell without looking up. When his eyes finally drifted away from the ground to meet Ari's, he felt every single emotion that had been locked away that night...
Tears began rolling down his face. His lip quivered, his breath caught. But he did not try to hide his face. After a few moments, he realized the slim boy was still looking at him.
"I- I'm sorry. This is tota- totally inappropriate." He hiccuped, wiping away tears with the back of his hand.

Ari's brow tensed with pangs of concern the instant Lucien began to cry. The corners of his lips pulled into slightly disconcerted, terribly confused frown. This... was unexpected.
Still, the only thing he could do was stand up. It was almost involuntary, the way his legs just straightened and urged him forward. His heart beat uncomfortably but he took a few tentative steps toward the troubled man. Just lingering, he couldn't tell if his presence was going to hurt or help the situation but he hoped for the latter.
"dude, hey... uh... what's... you ok?" he mumbled a series of incoherent attempts at consoling, but without actually knowing why the man was crying... that was difficult.

Lucien teared up a bit more as he saw the boy stand up. Would he come over to sit beside him? Somehow, in his current state, Lucien felt like he would like that. Even through all the Obsessive-Compulsive factors of cleanliness and personal space, he really needed a hug.
"No, I mean, Yes. I'm okay. I'm just exhausted, and seeing you and Saul Kelly, and everything that happened, and..." He burst into tears again.
Alright, maybe he wasn't okay.

Ari stared with his bottom lip a nervous captive of his teeth. Admittedly, he wasn't very good at comforting people. Until he met Saul and Jaq and Cain he'd never had any real friends, and aside from the one instance that led he and Saul to become friends in the first place, he'd never had to deal with something like this. Still, he felt the need to try, even knowing fully well he was an amateur at best when it came to friendship.
Taking another step closer to the crying man, Ari lifted a tentative hand over Lucien's bowed head. It lingered for a moment over the silken black hair but ultimately retreated up to clutch nervously at his own shoulder. There was a faint tickle of fur and the soft wet feeling of an animal's delicate nose prodding his knuckle as the black kitten poked its tiny head out of the hiding place between Ari's neck and his hair. The boy calmly sat down on the bed beside Lucien with a couple inches to separate them. His fingertips brushed along Eddie's cheek, and carefully, he reached up with his other hand to pick up the delicate creature and lower it into his lap.
"it's all over now though, right? i mean, aside from your leader still being gone, but the day's over.. and everything will be fine."
An attempt. Ari glanced over at Lucien as his small hand stroked over Eddie's back. The tiny cat peered up at the stranger with big emerald eyes. It squeaked.
'mee!'
"plus, we get to hang out." Ari added with a wan smile and a sidelong glance to see if Lucien had taken any interest in the kitten. If he had, Ari would carefully lift and offer Eddie with cupped hands for his friend to hold.

"You don't really believe it's all over, do you?" He whimpered, his breath catching on every word. He took a moment to stop himself, to calm his breath, so he didn't start hyperventilating.
Once his breath was calm, he leaned his head up, arching his back slightly, and then reset himself to a neutral position, and looked to Ari, his eyes rather concerned looking. The occasional tear made its way down his cheek.
"And besides, that's not the point. You're my friend. At least, I hope you are. That wasn't a lie, too, was it?" He stopped himself, thinking that saying something like that was going a little too far. He looked down again.
"Sorry. I didn't mean that. My point is, when we organized this, we were ready for a slaughter. We thought the Rogues were vicious, bloodthirsty, wild, killers. The orders were to kill on sight." Once again, he realized he was taking it a bit far. For one, that was a bit too much information. For another, those killers were Ari's friends and family, potentially. Ari was one of those killers.
"So, when I saw you and Saul Kelly there... I didn't know what to do. I just couldn't imagine you, in that light. Cold? Bloodthirsty, vicious? That isn't the Ari I know..."
Something came over Lucien in that moment, and he didn't know what to do with it. Looking back at Ari, into his grey eyes... His heart pounded. His head felt heavy, his face flushed. He breathed heavily, and his lips parted. What was this? This... Want.
He leaned forward, towards Ari. Raising his arms to slide over Ari's shoulders, he leaned in closer, tilting his head to the side for a brief moment... Right before Lucien's first kiss.

Ari's encouraging gaze fell back to his lap, and he listened, feeling a familiar anxious cold. He was about to answer Lucien's question with a frantic no that didn't quite make it out in time, leading to only more uncomfortable silence as the other man went on.
...i'm not any of those things i swear it's not my fault i had no choice i was going to die it wasn't my choice to kill people i never enjoyed it like they do i'm not that terrible and it's not so bad it's easy enough to avoid all the bad i'm still me i'm not vicious... wha...t... ohmygodwhat--
Ari's teary eyes went a little wide and he instinctively leaned back a little bit as Lucien moved toward him, but as soon as the man's arms were around his shoulders, the teen kept still and immediately shut his eyes to hold the tears clinging precariously to the edges of his eyelids from falling. His body trembled with an un..famil..iar... feeling? He shook like something fragile about to fall and shatter. A moment before he knew what was happening, his lips parted of their own accord, moved by some deeply rooted instinct.
It felt almost like what a first kiss should have felt like; awkward, clumsy, a little frightening. Ari's hand darted out to clench at the fabric of Lucien's shirt as if he were hanging on for his life. The boy's face was caught somewhere between crying as it had been, and pure bewilderment, mainly because he'd had no idea Lucien felt that way.

Lucien pressed in as he felt he boy tug on his shirt. He wasn't sure what he was feeling right now, in fact, he wasn't thinking much at all. Mostly, he just felt, in this moment, a need. Where that need came from, he did not know, but it emanated outwards until it filled his body, rattling his bones.
The mental blocks that usually would have come up in his head, well, they were nonexistent. For some reason, they just did not appear. Not when he started to run his fingers through Ari's long hair, not when he breathed heavily inwards, catching the scent of the slim man. And when he pulled back, separating his lips from Ari's, to catch his breath, dipping his head down slightly, when his hair tousled and fell with gravity in front of his face.. He didn't feel any urge to fix it. He didn't need to do anything to feel safe.
As he heavily breathed into Ari's neck, feeling his breath pass by his own ear, he looked up at Ari to look him in the eye once again. His look had totally changed. There was no more anxiety, or fear on his face. It was pure, unadulterated want. He stayed like that, his face inches from the man sitting on his bed with him.
Heart pounding. Breath heavy. Blood pumping.
Waiting.

Eyes blinked open as soon as Lucien pulled away from the kiss, quite mystified as he found himself gazing at... an unfamiliar face. Up until now his thoughts of Lucien had remained rather innocent; his mind never had reason to stray this far or to associate the man with this particular emotion, which Ari recognized, that had now taken hold of him. Desire seemed like a foreign thing worn on the other man's visage... but... it looked good on him.
Ari's hand still hadn't let go of Lucien's shirt, and now it pulled a little, urging to bring them back together again. His other hand moved up to stroke away the black hair that hung in Lucien's face. Ari's had lost the initial confusion and now he stared back with a calmly curious look, though the silent deep breath he took was still a little shaky, and he couldn't help biting loosely at his scarred lip up until the moment he'd be kissing Lucien's again. His own were delicate, but knowing, though it would be quite unknown to him at first that he was the more experienced of the two.

Lucien eagerly closed back in, letting Ari take control as they connected again. His kisses were soft, much softer than his own. It was.. better. Now that Ari had taken control for the moment, Lucien felt very content. In fact, he was totally fine with letting the younger boy have the reins for the rest of this. Whatever this was.
It was about here when Lucien's mind started to sneak in a few thoughts here and there. Thoughts that said, Wait, hold on. Since when did this become a thing that you do? Kissing random people, kissing boys? Allowing yourself to feel these things? Where did this all come from?
And, Lucien squirmed for a moment, hastily dispatching those thoughts from his mind, saving them for later. He was lost in the moment, not wanting to think.
Slowly, he leaned back, keeping his arms around Ari, leaning the other boy back until Lucien was laying on the bed, with Ari on top of him. He had lost track of the cat, he just hoped he wasn't.. in the way..

Eddie had jumped indifferently from Ari's lap some time ago to trot clumsily across the foreign floor on his curious kitten feet. His big green eyes panned up to the ceiling every so often.
Meanwhile, the featherlight body that was Ari's sunk down on top of the other boy comfortably after he'd pulled his legs up onto the mattress, carefully bringing one over Lucien's in a loose straddle. A hand moved back to swipe the long tresses of his hair over one shoulder so it mostly fell down his back instead of straight downward. For awhile Ari just kept kissing as long as the other was kissing him back, perfectly content, albeit slightly puzzled that Lucien seemed so passive... that role was usually Ari's to play, and he never had to think much about what do because he wasn't the one in control anyhow. When he realized the reins were in his hands, he tugged at them a little curiously.
Small hands smoothed down the sides of Lucien's shirt until they'd reached the bottom of it. His keen fingers slipped underneath and gingerly grazed their way back up again, feeling the warmth of Lucien's bare skin and the contours of the boy's bones under his palms. His touch was tentative at first, but in moments seemed to become more confident, as Ari slowly came to terms with new freedoms.

The man's touch on his skin sent tingles up Lucien's spine. He welcomed the sensation, feeling his hand roll over his exposed ribs. His touch was soft at first, almost hesitant. Then, it got a little more confident, and the touch emanated all the way to his bones.
His own hands unhooked themselves from their place on Ari's shoulders, and began to tentatively explore the boy's body. Mirroring Ari's action, he slipped one of his hands underneath his shirt, softly touching the soft skin. He was surprised that Ari was as thin and bony as he was, though it was not unwelcome.
His other hand traveled up to cup Ari's jaw, making sure the long haired man would not pull back from his currently occupied mouth.
He began to feel his heart thumping more erratic, and his breath grew more to gasping with every touch. What is this..?
