The petite blonde breathed a little easier with the rest of the people freed, but she was entirely aware that this presented a wholly new problem. These people, adults and children alike, would both slow them down and make stealth impossible. She paused at the base of the stairs, listening to the shouts and weighing her options.
Damien was the first priority...she had to make him it. The train tunnel could be a safer bet for the adults and children, especially considering Kyrie had no idea what had gone on since they came to this section of the facility. How many enemies would be there? How many of the prisoners would still be fighting? There were too many unknown variables and not enough time for Kyrie to skirt along to see.
The other male caught her attention as he stepped forward. The blue-eyed woman pivoted on her heel and blinked curiously, prompting him to speak before he did. Those same blue eyes widened in surprise.
'What is this you do not owe me anything... I would have defended Damien the same had I been in your shoes. How can I accept...'
But she knew it would be a grave insult to Tristan and his honour should she not accept it. There was a comfort in that he had proven himself faster and stronger than her, so she wasn't leaving him defenceless.
"You honour me, Tristan. I accept, but know I would have done the same to protect Damien had I been in your shoes, so I have no hard feelings towards you." There was nothing to forgive him for, but she understood the old ways quite well, and so accepted the great gift he gave her. Her palm would slide smoothly over the pommel of the hilt before her fingers wrapped around the leather bindings along the hilt. The pulse zinged up her hand and arm and she blinked, lifting her other hand to cradle the sheathe and lift it from his hands.
Securing the sword to her person, she glanced to the stairs and door.
"The tunnel is likely our best bet, even with the unknown factor of what it holds. Fighting our way out..." The blonde glanced back, eyes concerned as she swept over the people before turning back to Tristan, determined. They would manage. They would have to as they had no choice but to do so.

A blush crossed over Bastilles cheeks and she just rolled her eyes and ignored Damien spitting out the bile she'd held in her mouth from the pain of her shoulder being jammed back into place. She could already feel is swelling up. ... Then
Bastille noticed it, the feeling she got from the boys hand. She would look at him and remove her hand from his- patting his head and ruffling his hair before parting and letting the feeling ease from her body.
She left him in the crowd with a reassuring nod before joining Kiyr and her face returning to its normal grumpy expression.

ThemeOOC: Woah- i totes forgot about this. AND WE ARE BACK IC: The little boy would cry out and run forward, grabbing Bastilles hand with both of his own and clenching his eyes shut. He would refuse to let go, fear riddling his tiny frame. Tristan grinned, and bowed his head, clapping his a fist to his heart as was customary for a Dragon. He would turn and speak at everyone that had gathered- fifteen or so experiments. " Alright. Everyone with me. I'll be changing to someone you fear...but do not be afraid. I will watch over you. Keep an eye on my clothes and do not mistake me for the real one." He would turn back to Kiyr and grin- then his form changed entirely. He looked exactly like Barker. His voice...even sounded like his. " Good luck." He would start walking up the stairs, everyone following him. the sounds of fighting died out as he reached the top... Kiyr and Bastille would be on their own. Damien would follow them into the tunnel, whatever the case. A sign just inside the door stated: "KEEP ALL WEAPONS CLOSE, FLASHLIGHTS AND SIRENS REQUIRED. EXPERIMENTS LOOSE."

Though the bow surprised her, the blonde returned it without a second thought. The transformation was...quite astounding. And yet it would give them he best chance of making it out, likely.
Blue eyes glinted with appreciation to accompany her determination.
"May luck line your paths. Take care until we meet again."
Kyrie looked at the Experiments, then to Damien and Bastille and the boy. She drew a breath and pushed the door open, reading the sign that was illuminated. She drew a long dagger, for now leaving her new sword in its scabbard. Upon stepping in, her qi would stretch through the shadows, a radius of about ten feet (even streaming above them as she didn't trust any area), though she did quickly take a look to see if there were any flashlights.
She certainly didn't have one, nor could she necessarily see in the dark. She could slip to the shadow plane and be able to see more from there as it would be deep gray and silver...but for now her qi would serve as an advance warning.

Bastille just looked at the kid. Why was it every time she visited these places she found herself with a tiny child attached to her on her way out? She sighed, kneeling down and muttering unintelligibly. She looked at the boy in the eyes.
"I need you to go with them, I can't protect you from this point on- you have to do that yourself. You're a big strong man...so act like it...and we'll be able to meet again okay. Like a knight, you're going to have to be a knight for me." She whispered for his ears only, taking out a small bracelet.
"Here, take this and make sure you keep it safe for me...you'll need to give it back when we meet again okay kid?"
She would stand up and push him towards the crowd of survivors and look at Kiyr then to.....Barker. Her brows furrowed a bit.
"bloody brilliant" she commented dryly before waiting for the next action, following her leader.

The boy would start to cry as Bastille spoke, but removed the toy watch from around his wrist, forcing it into her hand. "Promise...we'll meet again. And I can get it back, okay?" And like that, he'd be gone before she could say no. Kiyr would sense beings moving away from her as she pushed into the darkness. A sort of....energy that had no physical presence. None that she could see anyway. As she stepped down a few stairs, she would find herself in what almost looked like a train station carved out of the earth, and had two ways to go. Left. Or right. To the left she could hear the sounds of fighting. To the right, she would hear silence. To Bastille: Buzz Lightyear toy watch. +3 STR with arm it's worn on. Power: Ability only works when worn. When The owner of this watch is in mortal danger, a voice will sound "Buzz lightyear to the rescue!" Owner of this watch automatically feels a boost of power. +5 STR, +5 DEX, +5 Con for 5 posts. Can only be used once per thread.

"There are...things, here. Incorporeal, perhaps, but I can sense them with my qi. They stray to the edges and away so I cannot tell if they really have a physical body or not." The blonde relayed what she could pick up very, very quietly...and murmured again: "Fighting to the left. Damien, stay between Bastille and myself, not too far away but not too close. I want to see what we are dealing with..."
The sounds of fighting were of concern; she listened, trying to tell if it was just a scrap between whatever dwelled down here or if it was someone in trouble. Her mind worked quickly as she listened to pick up more intel on what was going on. She kept her qi spread outwards. She had Damien. He was their absolute top priority at this point. The question she faced now was...would she use the fight at hand as a means of distraction for what was down here, or would she help whatever this turned out to be..?
The trio would likely be spread loosely apart--just a few scant feet of separation with Kyrie herself at the forefront. If there were no lights, she would trickle a very minute amount of her qi forwards to perhaps better discern, still listening intently with the rest of her qi spread outwards around them and against and even up the wall to create a makeshift 'dome' of sorts.
She grit her teeth. The blonde couldn't afford to tarry. The longer they were here the more vulnerable. And who knew what else the sounds of the fight would draw...

Bastille followed, no words as she took the watch and nodded to the kid. She then shook off the odd feeling the watch gave her. Following Damien she watched Kiyr silently, her mind no focused on the route out.

The sounds of fighting, of rapid movement and growling stopped. Everything suddenly went deathly silent. There would be heard some shuffling....and the shuffling got louder. Out of the darkness burst five or six tall beings, probably seven feet tall each. They were extremely thin, and their skin was as black as night. They had long, sharp teeth, and and long thin fingers that ended in a veritable, definitive point.
They screamed, rushing at the three without care. Kiyr was out in front so all of them went for her- but Damiens hand easily gripped the back of her shirt, yanking on it, tugging her away as teeth gnashed in the air where her shoulder was. Damien whipped her behind him and kicked the chest of the beast out in front, sending him staggering back into his pals, buying them a second or two.
"Lets hope you have a backup plan!"
In moments the monsters would be rushing forward again, this time for the broader male standing in their path.

The silence had the hairs on the back of her neck rising. She took a step back before the forms hit her qi--they were blacker, still, than the complete darkness they were in. Huge, thin, gangly, and their shrieks hurt her sensitive ears. A mask flashed over her head as her stomach leaped into her throat, jet black and silvery-grey streaked wings arching straight back along the sides of her head. She took a look at them. 'Not goo--' Before she knew it, someone - Damien - had yanked her back, bodily, leaving a trail of inky black feathers that disipated in her wake.
She was not a rag doll, but was thankful for Damien's quick thinking all the same.
With his words, her mind flipped through thoughts at a frantic pace. There was something she missed. She had to have something that could help.
'Darkness. Sign said flashlights--there has to be other reasons-- Lights. Light up the dark. I have--'
Swinging off her pack the blonde tugged open the top with a rapid "Yes!" not more than a second or two later. She shoved her hand inside, to one of the interior pouches and grasped something warm. Pulling the bottle out, it flashed to a pure white brilliance.
It lit the dark like a beacon, chasing away the shadows like the sun. It was so bright she shut her eyes to slight slits, facing Damien. Seeing him through the crack in her eyelids as she swung her bag up over one shoulder--over the side of her head to free her other hand and withdraw one of the long daggers that was sheathed on her person.
The blade flashed in the light. The little blonde focused her will on the object in her hand, causing the light to intensify even further as she held it by its stem so it would shine around them, three hundred sixty degrees.

Bastille had her blades in the ready and she had taken up the rear. Great ...shadow creatures. But before she could get to the beautiful slicing and dicing and obviously avoiding getting bitten- as if this was no a horrible zombie flick- she was shoving her glasses back on and furrowing her brows. The light hurt her eyes but oh well. She grumbled.
"Oi, can they be killed?"

As Kiyr broke out her Light, screeches could be heard, wails of pain as the beasts stumbled back, their skin literally bubbling with burns. The ones up front got the worst of it, but they were all permanently blinded by it. They ran back into the darkness...and with her light, would seem to stay away. Damien turned to look back at her.
"Quick thinking. You alright back there girl?"
He was talking to Bastille. Regardless of what she said, he would let Kiyr take the lead. The tunnel continued on for a ways, but was an obvious shortcut. They would reach a wall, where a tunnel went further down to their right. Directly above them was a manhole, and people could be heard talking above it.
"They are dead. Didn't you hear the screams? Lets clear out."
The other man spoke.
"I dont feel right, Jerry. I wont just abandon them. We made it here- we will camp out and wait for them."
The second voice was Finch, and they were speaking quietly.

There was a calm amidst all the adrenaline as Kyrie held up the light, her mask' swings flaring out behind her. She nodded at Damien's words, even knowing it would have been that much more beneficial for them had she thought of it immediately after entering. But...but it was just as well to have thought about it when they truly needed it. Who knew what would have happened if she hadn't.
With her eyes on him, however, and that she could see just. how. strong. he was...her heart launched into her throat and down to her stomach--but she said nothing. Not even anything about his qi, which, she could see what it was...it's strengths and weaknesses...
'Dieu. How did they even manage to contain him?'
She looked back to Bastille after schooling her expression to alert neutrality as Damien addressed her, checking on her as well, the light held high to extend as far into the darkness around them as possible. The small blonde would take the lead, provided everyone was alright, and continued to allow the light to blaze with all the strength she could muster. Down the small tunnel, to the voices. She listened intently, and would turn back to Damien and Bastille.
"Finch is above, with at least one other named Jerry. Bastille, I want you to go first after I call out. Use the jacket, take your sword out just in case there is trouble, either from above or below in here, but do not threaten Finch, please." She had enough to apologize for, for earlier. Damien was holding back on everything. She didn't know why, but, she would let him keep his secrecy, and act as normal. Thus, Damien's safety was top priority, regardless of how incredibly strong he was. "Damien is second. I will come last, as I still have the light. Clear?"
And as long as she got the affirmative, she would raise her voice from her murmur, calling out to the two - at least - above.
"Finch, this is Kiyr! Party of three below you. If you would be so kind as to lift the manhole as fast as possible so we can come up, I would appreciate it, greatly!"

Bastille almost asked to take the light, not exactly excited about being first- but she shuffled to the front and got ready to ascend, adjusting the jacket on her shoulders and pushing her sunglasses up on her nose again. Her hand would go to her sword and flip it once before she waited to rise.

There was a sudden jump.
"Holy- Kiyr?" Silence a moment, then the grate was lifted and set aside. The room was mostly dark except for a window. Boxes were piled in the room, and there were men outside. Finch and his man were hiding behind the boxes, and would reach a hand down to try and help them up.
Damien went up, unquestioned. Out of that dark tunnel, a shadow creature suffered the burns, leaping out and biting harshly into Damiens leg. He cried out, shouting in pain as the burning poison entered his system.
