The raven haired freshman giggled. The way that Saint had answered, and the look that he'd given her, gave her the assumption that he wasn't too familiar with camp. And that was alright, there were a lot of things that she'd never experienced either.
"Hahaha, no..it was only a demonstration. A two day thing at most."
Taking a napkin, she wiped her hands clean of all the pizza grease and crumbs, and then reached for her drink, bending the straw toward her and taking a sip.
"So how was your school in Rio? Different than 259 I suppose?"
She asked, curious. She'd been going to these local schools most of her life, once again with an exception of a few years between elementary school and highschool when her parents sent her to a private school, now wasn't that a trip...

Interesting. These camps sounded like fun though Chi’s giggle made Saint blush in slight embarrassment. To hide the slight tinge of red in his cheeks, the boy ran his hand over his face and up through his hair, acting as though he was moving his bangs from his face, even though they fell back to the same place. Real Slick… right? But again Saint had a question to answer, one he was okay with answering. He could be generic and not have to go into the details of what he had been through at 259.
“Well… where to start… First of all there was a lot less violence. Class size was about the same, and the classes were about the same level, maybe a little further along. We didn’t have corporal punishment or anything of the sort… we got suspended or, if it was bad enough, expelled. Then you would go through this process of getting back into another school after proving you wouldn’t make the same mistakes. Other than those… not much was that different, but I suppose those alone are big enough huh?”

Chi nodded in comprehension as he spoke. A lot less violence? Well, she could see how that could be a good thing, it would be nice if people could walk from class to class without running to multiple fights, or worrying if your locker is dented in or not.
"Do you miss it there?"
She asked curiously. He seemed to be speaking fondly of the place, though she could be mistaken. She picked her drink up, then leaning back in her chair so it tilted back on two legs, she rested her knees against the table for balance and took a sip. Sure, it wasn't proper table manners, but they were more or less done eatting anyway, and it was comfortable.

For a moment Saint thought about the question. It was the first time he’d ever actually thought about it… did he miss Rio? He rocked his head side to side while weighing each side equally comparing various complex criteria. Violence, school policy, curriculum, location, and even the student body. His eyes shifted skyward while he continued to think about, perhaps more so than Chi had intended. But after his contemplation it seemed like a wash, so Saint turned his glance back toward the girl.
“Both have their positive points…”
A simple answer of his own for a change. The check had been dropped off while the two were eating and talking so Saint picked it up and took out the necessary cash with some extra for a tip. Ironically the food had cost less than the actual ride to get the food. As he put the check back down, Saint again turned his attention to his companion… and her posture.
“Be careful you don’t fall.”

Chi glanced down at the table to where the check lay, Saint had already taken out the money to pay for their meal. Funny, she hadn't even noticed the check come, but then again, she was having a good time. The dark haired girl smirked at Saint's comment about her falling..her mother used to warn her about that all the time, at least when she was little, before her problem developed..
'Chihiro, be careful you don't fall, those chairs are quite unsteady..put it back on four feet please.' Anya Amuri was cutting vegetables at the island in the kitchen, the sleeves of her ivory sweater were rolled up to the elbows and her long black hair was pulled back in a twist. The little girl she was talking to was sitting at the kitchen table amidst a flurry of coloring books and half broken crayons.
'But mama, Jimmy Hanas does it all the time and he doesn't fall over..even when he's eatting!' The little girl looked up from her drawing, her dark brown eyes wide with awe as she said this. Her hair, long and black like her mothers, was pulled back in two braids, one of which was already on it's way of coming undone. Her small hands braced themselves against the table's edge and she was rocking on the two legs of the chair that remained on the ground.
'I don't care what Jimmy Hanas does, he's been to the ER twice already this year- stop that! You're scaring me.'
'Yes, mama.'
The now teenage Chihiro simply smirked at her new friend, rocking slightly on the chair legs though her eyes were still a bit glassed over from her memory, her mother's voice echoing, You're scaring me.
"You needn't worry about me."

Saint watched Chi leaning back in her chair. Though she seemed to go to another place for a moment, she did say not to worry. All the boy could really do was shrug and let her do as she pleased, despite a feeling that she wasn’t actually talking to him. For some reason Saint thought Chi was talking to someone he couldn’t see, like a ghost of some sort. He quirked his brow slightly before shrugging lightly, deciding not to press the matter of her thoughts at the moment. With a light sigh he leaned back against the back of his chair, but keeping all four legs on the ground.
“Alright then."

Chi smirked at Saint as he appeared to give in to her reckless endangerment at the table. It amused her for some reason, but she wasn't about to inquire about it. Whatever, she was in a good mood. Just remembering something, she gasped, pulling her knees from the table edge, the chairs returning to its four feet, her own feet hitting the ground.
"Didn't you want to go to the beach?"
She asked excitedly. The beach was an awesome place, and wuold only make the day even brighter, especially since they were already finished with their food.

Shocked by Chi’s drastic change of posture, Saint just blinked a few times without saying anything. It was as if he needed to let her action sink in before he could actually respond. Once it all sank in the boy began to laugh to himself but slowly got louder until he was attracting the attention of the near by patrons. After he had taken his time to laugh at her drastic change and his own shock, Saint slowly got out of his chair to leave. He did still want to go to the beach and maybe even go for a quick swim in the ocean, who knew.
“Yeah… alright let’s go.”
With a humored smile on his face, Saint started on his way toward the beach without a word about his outburst of laughter. He figured it might be fun to keep why he’d started to himself, if only to see what kind of reaction that got out of Chi. It was a social experiment of sorts, done out of entertainment, not malice. Who does like a secret every now and then?

An eyebrow quirk was the first response Chi could come up with for his sudden outburst of laughter, then slowly, a half smirk appeared on the girl's face. Well it was good that he was laughing, that meant he was happy. And that was a great change from how she first found him. “Yeah… alright let’s go.” Her smirk widened into a smile as he said this, and she jumped up from her chair, folloeing him out of the restaurant and down toward the beach. She could already see the sand ahead of them. Woohoo! She thought, the beach the was favorite place in the world.
She skipped the last couple of steps, and landing on the first patch of sand, kicking off her shoes. She wiggled her toes in the sand, stepping around a bit before turning to her new friend.
"I love the beach...don't you?"
She stated matter of factly, though tilting her head to the side as she posed the question. It was probably unneeded due to her behavior, she was almost acting like a child. The beach seemed to bring out that happy innocence in her. Here was one of the only places she didn't purposfully try to manipulate people for her own gains, it was like a safe zone.

The sounds of crashing waves brought a small bit of comfort to Saint. Relaxing in its gentle repetitiveness. Of course his counterpart seemed to be overjoyed to be at the beach as she went to play in the sand without her shoes. He shook his head in slight amazement before stepping onto the beach, with his boots on of course. Taking a deep breath of the sea air before letting it out slowly, Saint had a serene demeanor about him. When she asked her question, he shifted his gaze slightly from the far off horizon only long enough to answer.
“…yeah…”
Nothing much to say but that one word. Something that really couldn’t be expressed by words alone. Slowly Saint began to walk down the beach while reaching into his pocket for something. After a few moments of digging around, he found his pack and got out a cigarette along with his lighter. Sure smoking wasn’t the healthiest habit but it helped Saint keep his calm.

Chi fixed the boy with a crooked grin before calming down a bit as the beach soothed her. She got the feeling that he either just liked the beach or he was one of those silent appreciative types. She was silently appreciative, but usually only at night, when the beach became her refuge, but with the events of the day she was feeling quite bouncy. But she could restrain, even though she still ran her toes through the sand, one could never get over that feeling.
Noticing that he was pensively gazing at the horison, the girl fell silent, turning her gaze in the direction as well, not wanting to break his moment of freedom. Soon her chocoalte eyes began to gaze all around, at the water, the sand, the people (so funny in their little suits and swimmys), the boardwalk...she was too jittery right now to fall into the pensive bliss Saint was in.

((OoC: I had too do it >__>))
After a short while Saint plopped down in the sand, his eyes focused on the waves out in the distant rolling on toward the shore. In nature, and in life, people often see what they want to see or project their inner feelings and mindset onto their surroundings. They see themselves in their surroundings as a means of introspection. The waves… Saint saw himself in them. Rolling on endlessly toward some unseen goal, chaotic and tranquil at the same time. Opposite forces trying to remain harmonious as one but at the same moment trying to pull apart despite without the other it would cease to be. All that fighting and turmoil within itself only to crash on shore, with no means of avoiding it. That was how he felt… caught in his own turmoil on an unavoidable crash course with some unseen obstacle over the horizon.
Taking a drag of his cigarette, Saint’s expression slowly shifted to a melancholy state. A somber glaze clouded his eyes, still peering toward the horizon. The smoke, exhaled through his nostrils, floated slowly up into the atmosphere. While Saint sang quietly to himself more than anyone else.
“Sorrow, sank deep inside my blood All the ones around me I cared for and loved Building up inside of me A place so dark, so cold, I had to set me free Don't mourn for me, You're not the one to place the blame As bottles call my name I won't see you tonight”

((ooc: rofl...xD But it is your theme song afterall...))
The girl watched as Saint plunked down on the asnd with his ciggarette (ick) and began to sing, his gaze locked on the horizon. Now, any normal girl would have probably swooned at this. So dreamy! So deep! So...so...Chi couldn't...didn't...fell that way she guessed. She didn't conenct with people, really. She didn't want to, people were dumb. People hurt other people, and for no reason. Chi never got hurt because Chi never let anyone in. It was better that way.
So, she watched the boy curiously for a moment, like a child watching a piece of clockwork move, slightly fascinated but oddly detached, before sitting down in the sand as well, turning her chocolate gaze to where the ocean met the sky.

Taking another drag off his cigarette Saint paused his singing. There was something about his person that continued to grow more morbid as time passed. With a dulled expression the boy fell backwards into the sand, staring blankly at the sky above. After a few moments of staring he began again, this time at the end of the song.
“No more breath inside Essence left my heart tonight No more breath inside Essence left my heart tonight”
…
“Will anyone cry?”
