David didn't move her hand away, but didn't appear comforted.

"I have their loyalty. Their love. They honor me. But they don't respect me the same way they do the others. I'm not blind. They treat Mathew and Leon like a son treat a father. They treat me as a wiser older brother. It's my role, I guess. The other two are selfish. I'm selfless. A weakness for me, and a strength."

He listened to her say she would find a way for him to have his freedom.

"No. I will try to stay on and lead, regardless of what happens...but thank you, nonetheless."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The blonde's blue eyes sharpened. Not in anger, but quiet and steadfast determination. She would do nothing less than what she told him, regardless of his response. That much was obvious.

"...David..." She didn't know what to say. There were no words that could 'fix' this. So she simply brushed her thumb against his jaw again. It was very, very likely she would start on this immediately. She wasn't entirely sure how, but she would. She didn't pull him down so much as she coaxed with gentle fingers, letting him make that choice before she did anything further.

David would reach up and take her hand, gently lowering it, eyes still on her.

"Thank you Kiyr, for the honesty. For forcing me to remember what it means to be an Elder and...not letting me forget my responsibilities."

He would turn and walk off the roof, hovering as his foot stepped air.

"I should...go prepare. I will see you in a couple days."

And with that...he would fly away.

"I did not want to 'force' you to remember anything, David." Her eyes glinted in a different light, then, tinged with sadness. She had not wanted to make him feel pressured or forced to come back.

Her hand dropped to her side.

'...find me, then..?"

She would not stop him from leaving, but would watch as he flew away. Her brows knit together as she eyed his figure in the sky. Feeling dejected, not for her honesty but for the consequences of it, she turned back and would begin to pack at least two baskets from the third floor's grove. She still had work to do, and she could think as she did it.

David: +1 EXP. More and more I see why you are one of the best fighters on this site. You are intuitive, thoughtful and inclusive. You bring out the best in your opponents, and you only go as far as you need to. While I find that you backtrack a lot, it doesn't take away from the flow of the post, and it's still quite easy to read. Great work, a model example.

Kyrie: +1 EXP. Your fights always amaze me. I would love to see them more frequently, but because of the character I understand how that wouldn't always be possible. Your writing talent was brought out by the mutual depth of characters involved in the thread, and I feel like your adaptive style was accentuated in this case. Excellent work, fun to read and true to the character.

A short fight, but one of substance befitting top quality. Keep it up you guys.
