Mathew puts an arm around her as she leans on him. Just gazing out over the land that was under his rule. Letting out a long and slow breath as he just looked at it.
It was hard to express what he felt into words. About everything. Seeing Bastille and others rise up and take charge of things while him and the other Elders did there thing. Seeing the way that the Dragons were unified. The progress of Kiyr's project.
"I'm proud of you Bastille."

"Why?" she said calmly, her eyes closed as she mused over the list of things she might have to do when she got home, or the fact that she could happily and without any regret- ignore them completely right now. Okay, some regret where Aryanna and Evelyn were concerned...but that was only natural.

"How far you have come in taking to the role of my voice."
He smirked before turning his head to plant a kiss on top of her head. His arm squeezing her slightly before his hand started to rub up and down against her slightly.
"You've done well, and I am proud of you for that."
Why couldn't she just take the compliment. It isn't like he gave them to her often. Women, they were silly sometimes.

"Oh." She almost whispered it. Her brows furrowed and she felt an embarrassed heat cross her cheeks. It wasn't like she had a choice now was it...was it?

"Mhm."
He chuckled and shook his head again.
"Maybe I should name you the Earth Dragon. Like Leon did."
He would not do that. But it would be funny to see everyone flip their shit even more. He wondered if David would burst a vein. God that would be amazing. Leon would probably laugh. But Leon was chill like that. Kiyr would know what it meant now, so he couldn't look to her for an interesting reaction.
"David would flip his shit, but don't worry. I won't do that to you."
It was his title dammit!

Bastille perked up and looked at him in a confused manner. "Okay, I dont get that reference...what did Leon do now?"

He laughed louder. Oh good! He would get to be the one to tell her! Not that she would care, but he still found it pretty amusing. So there was that.
"Oh, you know that big meeting he called that we bailed on to look over the girls while they had that fever? Apparently it was to renounce his title as Lightning Dragon and give it to some dude named Lucien. Apparently people flipped out."
Good times.
"Leon did make a point to say he is keeping his position as Elder though."
Which should tell you everything right there.

Bastille rolled her eyes.
"Dragons" she chortled sardonically.
"I feel like I haven't slept in over a month with those two...how are you holding up, father of the year?"

"The smell of shit doesn't bother me anymore."
Though it wasn't much of a problem before hand. In Seattle his lair had been in the sewer system. At least connected to it. Still, those girls were pooping machines. It was crazy.
"You sign up for patrolling and shit or did you get roped into it?"
He knew she had picked up a lot of slack but he didn't get the details on how it came about. That was something he was interested in.

"If it gets the resistance one step closer to finding a world where I'd feel comfortable being a mother only, then I'll do anything"
She didn't have much, but what she did have- she was determined to keep.

"Will you ever feel that comfortable do you think?"
He was actually fine being a Father. No one would harm his kids with him there. Mathew being a stay at home Dad right now was probably the best thing that he could do for his babies. To ensure their safety, because not many people would dare to attack him at his home. And the ones that would he could probably go toe to toe with.
"Killing Barker won't change anything."

"thats not necessarily what I mean...but yes, I do believe one day I'll be okay with it"
Her eyes stayed trained on the ground, observing its detail silently.

"What would make you comfortable with it?"
That was the real question. Wasn't it?

"I'm not sure yet" She answered honestly. Killing Barker only gave way for rise of something worse or similar...no, what she meant was something probably a lot more personal.

"I'm guessing worse. He has a lot of fucking freaks now. I imagine when we kill the one holding the leash they will just cause more harm then they have now."
He shrugged.
"Everyone is fixated on Barker like if they kill him they win, or everything will be better. My guess is while he is a scumbag, he has imposed an order that has allowed things to continue. At least as they are now."
He motioned to the Dragon territory that they could see.
"There is obviously a reason no major attack has happened here yet. Look at how much we have rebuilt. How long our sort of peace has lasted. Will it last forever? Probably not. But there is obviously a reason for it."
