Kyrie's gaze lifted to David as he strode passed, and she listened with half an ear - catching important fragments she could piece together - while still listening to Gregory in turn. She drew in a breath...and tucked the blue tear away. The burns, while bad enough, were not enough for her to slow down or be hampered.
She nodded at Gregory with a faint smile and turned to follow David.
The ominous rumble from the beginning of the explosion had the blonde surging forwards - she never would be able to erase the rumble of explosions from her mind - in a sprint until she cleared in front of David, Olesya, and the others, her hands coming up. They were too close for comfort, and as such the little blonde's thoughts were centred on one thing only: to protect.
Her qi sprang from her hands in a thick, durable shield that stretched seven feet tall and around double that lengthwise as the debris shot and exploded out towards them; the initial burst from the equivalent of five hundred pounds of plastic explosives going off would have been enough to stop the blonde had she not stopped herself. As it was, it rocked her and pushed her back. The force and effort just about brought her to a knee as her qi absorbed the force of the blows of rubble and wood that crashed against it. But she stood, swaying, using her qi kind of like a wall to brace herself against while she took in deep breaths.

Mathews arm...it was like she could still see a ghost of it when he was angled away from her,but it was definitely gone. She helped Mathew distibute thevweight on hos shouldersband let himbwalk away, watching him warily.
She turned at the voice, seeing Davidbstanding in front of her. The both looked worse for wear. She nodded, a slight grimace on her face.
"His neck was snapped by someone named...John Strike. I dont recognize the name."
"David!" August exclaimed, clapping him on the shoulder. He still had the pipe in his hand. "Theyre saying someones still inside."

David nodded, opening his mouth to reply to Olesya, when the world blew up.
The massive explosion caused him to turn, eyeing the building as it went sky high. His men turned and ran, hopefully avoiding most of it, but he, Kiyr, Olesya and Kiyrs friend were a bit close. He leapt forward and stuck a hand on Kiyrs shoulder, reinforcing her shield with one made of air, mixing the two to protect the group. Once the rubble was settled, he turned to the hand on his own shoulder, looking at August and taking a deep breath, only slightly drained.
"Take forty Dragons from the right flank being as they are still fairly fresh, and bring them into the rubble to assist anyone trapped under. Olesya, You go with him and help out. Kiyr, you and I will be moving back to assist the wounded, and instruct the troops to shape up for the long march home. We'll also need to select about fifty men to stand guard over whats left of the facility until we can get down here and dig through whats left."
He'd turn to get started, unaware of the others.

OOC : PLEASE READ
IC : ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER
Levi had taken off with Marcus and Rai, back to the Dragon territory for urgent care. Or at least, as far as Delilah knew. She walked out of the cloud of silt surrounding the last part of the pile of rubble she and Levi had moved the vast majority of.
She was covered in soot, blood, dust, and sweat. Limping slightly from fatigue, she made her way back toward the others.
"They're okay!" she called to them in a weak, tired voice, "They're in bad shape, but they're getting care."
At the edge of the rubble, Delilah's knee gave out and she dropped to the ground with a loud metallic clang; not sprawled out on the ground, but kneeling. She clutched at her sides, hissing through her teeth.

Les ducked, covering her hands over her head as the building exploded, thankful for the shield that protected them. Once the debris stopped falling, she stood up, listening to David's orders. August nodded and clmaped his fist over his heart, looking to Olesya who mirrored the gesture and took off after him. A part of her conscience was relieved to see David still standing. And Kiyr as well, for that matter. She was not looking forward to finding out who didn't make it back home. Right now she needed to make sure as many men returned as possible.
"Right flank, fan out and begin searching. Triage the wounded. Heavily wounded but conscious first, lighter wounded second, unresponsive last."
It was a painful heirarchy of triage, but it was how she had been trained based on the principles of First Response. She looked to the rest of the army within shouting distance, mentally calculating the best way to do this.
"Those injured who can walk, I want you back fifty feet, congregate where I am pointing-" She indicating directly behind her with her full arm. "Those of you who are uninjured, I want you searching the rubble with the right flank."
Olesya was too weary to lift heavy rocks at this point, so she would leave the search team to August. She followed along, helping pull out wounded from under the rocks and healing them with handfuls of water charged with her Qi. The ones who could walk woul dbe tended to after the heavily wounded, if not until they got home. She wanted them back and out of harm's way in case more explosions or debris rained down on them.
Klang.
At the edge of the rubble they were searching, Delilah fell to her knees. Olesya finished healing one of the soldiers and pointed him in the direction of the 'safe(r) zone' and ran over to the First Crow.
"Delilah. Status report."
She knelt down, water swirling around her left hand as she reached out with her right to look her over for injury.

The petite blonde was grateful for the bracing hand against her shoulder. She murmured her gratitude after the debris stopped bashing against their combined shields and took the moment's respite to breathe and quickly recuperate. Her hearing was a bit fuzzy, so she carefully flexed her jaw, popping her ears. They buzzed and rang and the blonde resigned herself to having that accompany her for the next little while.
"Sir." Kyrie intoned her acknowledgement of the order and glanced to Gregory, tilting her head so he would accompany them, so she wouldn't be drowned out as Olesya immediately started her own work. She gave the white-blonde quiet props for continuing on and stretched her - a little shaky, still - legs out to catch up with David and immediately set upon her task.
It was grim. She didn't smile. There were groans and gasps and quiet deaths all around her. All of them painful.
"Gregory, this is David Blaze, the Storm Dragon. David, this is my friend, Gregory, who came to aid us at my behest."
It was a simple introduction, introducing two of her friends to one another, with one being her commanding officer. Even though she had a feeling that if Gregory had a file on her, he would likely know who David was...she wished to keep things simple and straightforward as she began to give first aid to the ones that needed it the most. Largely it meant using their own clothing for tourniquets after shredding portions with qi and dagger alike, but...she wanted them to live. Kyrie had limited options at this point.
One of the Core began to head toward them.

A familiar presence made it's way to her side. Olesya's smell and voice.
The mechanic shook her head slowly from side to side, "Marcus and Rai were...i-in the bottom of the pit. Levi and I got them out. Took them to Dragon territory for emergency aid. Rai's alive, but probably paralyzed. Marcus...wasn't."
She paused, wondering how to word this absurd truth.
"I-I brought him back."
Delilah shuddered again, only to renew shaking her head. "Not injured. No one got close enough. M-my Qi won't turn off. It's been on too long. Painful." Combined with the use of the mask and restoring life to twenty people as well as a man who had been dead for the better part of an hour had worn her own vitality thin.

David reached out and took Gregorys hand, shaking it firmly.
"Pleased to meet you. I appreciate you coming to her aid so quickly."
He ignored the mask- there were worse things going on. He approached the worst parts of where the battle was, stopping by one of his men who was in the throws of death and looking into their eyes, holding the mans hands as death claimed them. He would put a hand to the mans chest and whisper, in Dragon Language, for him to be at peace. He would let the mans hand go...and move on to the next, expecting Kiyr and Gregory to help with the moving of bodies and the direction of the troops around to assist.
This was his duty. His responsibility. To clasp the hands of his dying brothers and promise them a warriors funeral, to promise their families would be taken care of. The weight wore on him, but he didnt show it. While Mathew got to leave, and Leon sat at home eating pizza, David looked his soldiers in the eye and lent them his strength. Whatever he needed to do.

Gregory:
Gregory took Davids hand, nodding and staring at the Storm Dragon. His eyes seemed alight, though, and he was obviously thinking something...

While being carried away by Levi Rai had this sudden urge to look down and he saw a green candy lying on the floor.
"Oooh, Piece of candy..."
Reaching down he grabbed the green candy and nom'd it, much without thinking. But when he did he also found a ring.
"Shiny..."
He inspected the ring and it looked cool so he put it on, but then the thought occurred... can't leave the grieves... Leon will kill me...
"Hey, could you find my grieves?"
He would ask the woman accompanying him.
"They should be over there near that rubble. Thank you."
Then Rai passed out, yet again. Dreaming about chasing candies...

It seemed Lucien was too late.
For what felt like half an hour, he remained invisible outside the facility. Unmoving. Invisible so no one would notice him.
It wasn't his fear that froze him so. Nor was it the possibility of death. No, something more was keeping him here. Keeping him from helping his friends. As he looked at the giant battlefield, for the first time he realized what it was he was looking at. Maybe he couldn't see it before, having such a narrow view. But, he saw it now.
Death. So much death, so many dead, all of this blood. The ground was saturated with it, flesh and gore lined the ground such that it was scarce to find a clean step. Bodies of fallen men and women surrounded him.
His knife dripped with blood. In the distance he heard a whimper, a soldier not quite dead, but beyond help.
His dream was coming true.
Silently, he laughed.
His dream had come true.
And he stood there, frozen, letting time go as it slipped through his fingers, like the hot air rising up from the ground in the California sun. And he fell into that void, more lost than he could have ever imagined. Knowing that nothing could have strayed him from this, that it was all inevitable. There was no chance, no free will, just fate. And this was his fate, wasn't it? Death.
But life. Life, right?
Lucien blinked back to reality as the commotion started. Delilah. Marcus. Raikotsu. Levi. Aryn. Everyone, all his friends...
Lucien closed his eyes. They're alive.
No thanks to you, buddy.

Kyrie watched the handshake with her normal neutral composure, and then immediately began administering what first aid she could. She glanced, frequently, at David and at Gregory. By the time she was done tying off a tourniquet, she smiled at the Warrior that fought alongside them all. He looked back at her, pale, clammy, but...if he was lucky he would survive.
"I just need you to keep still and relax. Try to meditate."
"K-Kiyr?" A voice choked out. A very familiar voice to the blonde. Kyrie could tell that he was gravely injured just from the wet, gurgling sound of his voice.
The blonde's head shot up as she rose, looking for, searching for her comrade even as her heart lunged into her throat...and then dropped to the very pit of her stomach when she saw him.
When she saw Chase.
With her breath caught in her throat, she jumped across bodies and living allies alike to crouch at her companion's side. He gave her a toothy grin, blood staining his teeth.
"You ma-ade it."
"Shh! Do not speak." Her hands pressed against the gaping hole in his chest, her other hand clasping his, though she had already known at first glance there was--too late she thought of the black tear in her pocket.
Chase smiled, shaking his head. "Kick assss, yo..."
His body shuddered. Then went still, his eyes turning glassy. Unseeing. He died as her father had: just as his hand met and clasped hers. The man who was his own person even though he reminded her very much of her brother - though with much better listening skills - was dead. A sound was choked back in her throat. Tears built in her eyes. Only two fell.
And this, she knew as she had known before, was the cost.
And she would, eventually, cry for them all. But she put a valiant effort into smothering her grief. New family lost in the same way as her old. Barker and those like him, war, it all destroyed lives.

David crouched on the opposite side of chase and sighed, placing his hand on the mans chest.
"Cdnahkdr eh meva, Luinyka eh pyddma, ruhun eh taydr. Pa yd bayla, pnudran uv Tnykuhc."
He would turn, pointing at one of the Dragons standing nearby
"You- come assist Ms. Barrial and the man across from her."
He would walk around and touch Kiyrs shoulder.
"I am sorry, Kyrie."

"Marcus?"
She felt her chest tighten, the two syllables almost unable to leave her mouth. She wasn't well acquainted with Rai, but Marcus was the first person she knew personally to have...not made it. He was so strong, surely he couldn't have...but Delilah said she'd brought him out of the pit herself. There was no mistaking it.
Firehead was gone.
Olesya closed her eyes, reigning in her emotions. There would be time to mourn later, right now she needed to help Delilah. She took a deep breath, opening her eyes as the water surrounding her hand glowed bright blue.
"I'll see if I can help."
If she could heal other people, she could calm a Qi, couldn't she? Clearly Olesya didn't know the inner workings of Qi or if it would even work, but it was worth a shot. She raised her hand to the woman, but the moment the Qi-infused water touched her skin, a large shock emitted from the contact point, knocking Olesya backwards onto her ass from where she'd been kneeling. Her nerve endings stung like she'd put her finger in a light socket. The water fell from her grasp and soaked back into the ground.
"Vilg! Ow! Uh, apparently not."
She cringed, rubbing her arm and hand. On top of everything else she'd endured today, that was going to sting tomorrow.

From their vantage point, completely removed from the battlefield, the woman surged forward as he building belched smoke and debris, a shout of protest on her lips. A hand clamped down on her shoulder, the older male beside her holding her back with great ease. She stilled but watched, completely unhappy as her need to give aid grew. There see people in that collapsed building and strewn across the stretch of earth like so much trash. She had to get down there to help--she was someone that could. She needed to help.
When things finally settled down and the remaining dispersed to help those that were prone, she looked up, her gaze unyielding and bright in determination.
"Now." There would be no arguing with her on this. Her companion just smiled, faintly, and set his hand upon her shoulder. Faint streams of light spiraled up from beneath their feet.
From a point over the bodies near David and his crew, a few slender beams of light grew slowly brighter and began a downwards spiral. The bodies - alive and broken, dead and broken - beneath the lights began to shift and move. Those that were alive groaned and hissed faintly, but to their credit, did not scream or cry out in pain. The others kept their deathly silence. All were gently deposited a few moments later...leaving a perfect circle with a diameter of ten feet in the clear. The lights whirled: faster and faster, brighter and brighter. They grew, more and more, until they suddenly burst outwards, forming a perfect, brilliant column of light. It was contained within that ten-foot circle. It happened in only a second after the bodies were shifted.
Anyone that may have been looking towards the East...could note a corresponding beam.
The light crackled, splintering and breaking like forked lightning. There was only a rush of air and faint crackle to the air. Standing there was a man, resplendent in armour that was polished 'til it gleamed, but dinged and worn enough to show it had seen battle before. The man that stood, tall and straight and proud, looked with a keen gaze with his one eye to those gathered that he could see. The head of his spear was held towards the ground in a non-threatening gesture...but, ready to take action.
His arm hovered protectively in the air around the back of the shoulders of his female companion. He was ready, it was apparent, to defend her if the need arose.
The woman seemed to be turned around for a moment, but her eyes flickered, searching...and landing on one woman as she was kneeling by one of the fallen. Her gaze flicked up, gauging the reactions to their rather sudden entrance. In her arms, she clutched what looked to be a moderately heavy bag that was rolled up into itself.
For a moment, the world held its breath.
