Trick or Treat! [Mathew???]

[Player 1]

A little bedsheet ghost is wandering around God Territory, waddling around from place to place and struggling to keep the sheet in position and see at the same time! Have you ever been a bedsheet ghost? It's hard as heck and not nearly as easy as cartoons make it out to be. You have sheets going under your feet and tripping you up and if the eye slits are even slightly off it's just painful to try and see.

But that doesn't matter, because when kids want to dress up and run around they are going to do just that.

The bedsheet ghost finds a nice two story house, actually quite quaint. This also happens to be the house the bedsheet ghost has been frantically running around trying to find! What a coincidence! The best of luck.

The not so ectoplasmic entity runs up to the house, bashing its fists on the door! It has to bash, because the cloth covering it is kind of muting its knocks, and it's really hard to hold onto a pillowcase when you're holding onto it through things.

BUMF BUMF BUMF

When Player One bashed on Mathew's door he would hear some crashing from inside. Like something glass breaking followed by several loud thumps toward the door. She may have been expecting the door to open, but instead a head popped out of the stone wall next to the door looking down at him with a look of confusion followed quickly by one of annoyance.

"Halloween is over."

Mathew wasn't really in a holiday spirit now. What with his wife being kidnapped and all. And losing an arm. Still, at least it wasn't a fucking Christmas caroler. I mean for fuck's sake it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet!

[Player 1]

"What?! I missed it!?" The tiny ghost jumps slightly, shocked more by the news than the head in the wall.

It throws the pillowcase down on the porch. Front door. Whatever the hell it just knocked on. "But I didn't get to chicker cheat! Awwww man! How long has it been since it?!"

[Mathew Amtrum]

"You are like three weeks to late."

He scoffed, really not in the mood for this. But his face twitched at the phrase chicker cheat. He loved Halloween, and to hear... that. It was painful for Mathew.

"And it's Trick or Treat not Chicker cheat."

[Player 1]

The bedsheet ghost just stares at him. "You're kidding me. Seriously? I miss it and I've been saying it wrong all this time on top of that?!"

It plops down on the ground, looking so depressed for a bedsheet ghost.

"Man, my entire life is a lie. Hey, but this is at least the right house right? Mathew... AAaaammmm-trum?" It says the name like it's trying to remember a memory of a memory of learning the name.

"Well you got something right."

He glared at the young person who was intruding on his door. The already flimsy excuse of not knowing the holiday. This person was looking for him. Which meant that they wanted something.

"What do you want?"

Straight to the point. And not to friendly about it either.

[Player 1]

It stands up, clapping its bedsheet hands together before throwing it off, revealing the tiny red haired person underneath!

"Hello Mister Mathew! I am here with a business proposition for you!" It beams, clasping its hands together.

"I want to trade for a building, namely that pharmacy! I have a lot of goods and nowhere to put them, and I'd love to have a stationary spot to trade from, yes yes!"

"Riiiiiiiight...."

This was probably the weirdest way that someone had approached him for business. This may have been one of the weirdest ways anyone had ever approached him for anything ever! The head went back into the wall and a moment later the door opened and Mathew stood at the door.

Wearing nothing but a green speedo and an arm made out of stone hanging from his right side. Connected at the shoulder and hooked into his flesh. He looked down at her.

"And what makes you think it's for sale?"

He asked the young boy.

[Player 1]

"Everything has a price. That means everything's for sale, if you know what to offer and can be a little flexible in getting what you need." She laughs a bit, not at all perturbed by the speedo. People have swimsuits! Player 1 has one too. Player 1 does not have wicked cool rock arms though. "Whoa, neat." He says as an aside as it checks that out momentarily before carrying on with the matter at hand.

Player 1 is on the ball today. And that ball is business. "What I need is a place to do my trading, where I can keep my stuff without other people trying to steal the building out from me every other day. That's way too much of a hassle. Easier to just do the thing where I just give someone else stuff to let me use their place. Let them deal with keeping their property!" It laughs.

Mathew barked out a laugh at the young boy's words. The girl was sharp, he liked that and had to hand it to him. Not everyone really realized that everything had a price, it's just that things people said didn't have a price had a high price. Or a price that was more than simply money.

"Alright, and what do you propose to offer for use of our building as well as our protection to make sure it's not liberated."

Let's see just how serious this kid was. If they could provide then he was open to hearing the kid out. After all, he was capable as a young adult. And if not then the "ghost" will just have a door slammed in their face.

[Player 1]

Player 1 thinks on that for a moment, hmming and hawwing dramatically before snapping its fingers and pulling its collar forward, reaching down into its coat...

And pulls out a tuna. Yellowtail, specifically. Which is... Well, almost the same height as it. Well hell.

"So, how's about this for a down payment, and 3 bass a week for rent?"

[Mathew Amtrum]

Mathew was not expecting the kid to pull that out if his pocket. The girl was either using Qi or he was a witch. He really didn't know much about fish, he was never big on seafood, but he also knew that beggars couldn't be choosers and a lot of what people ate was scavenged or grown. It wouldn't be enough to feed to Corps. But it could act as incentive for units to preform well. A reward for going above and beyond the norm. He could see it working.

"Six a week."

Never take the first offer though. It was probably low balling him. So he would haggle and see about meeting in the middle.

[Player 1]

Ufufu. He only went to 6? It was expecting 10! How poor, so poor. 6 was childs play. Pathetic. Easy. Too easy.

Still, it's not haggling without the back and forth.

"Weeeeeeell, I gueeeeeessss I can do 5. I gueeeess." It smiles as it says that though, before holding out its hand for shaking. "Do we have a deal?"

"I suppose I can do five."

He said reaching for the kid's hand before pulling it back with a considering look on his face. Bringing his flesh arm to cup his chin he let out a long "hmmmmmm" sound.

"You know, I really should talk to the other Elders before I sigh away the Pharmacy. It is one of our bases. I mean I suppose I can give you a building nearby though."

For the same price.

[Player 1]

Ahh man, Player 1 got too slow'd. "Hmmm... Well, I guess if that's what you gotta do, it's what you gotta do. I'll definitely take you up on that for now though! I mean, all I care about is having a building and that protection, so that works out great!" It laughs.

"Just let me know if it goes through or not so I can do some renovating or not." There's an eyebrow waggle with that. It's good infos to knows.
