After piecing together what she could of the battle that had occurred with the united forces of the Dragons, Crows and Gods against Barker...Delilah decided it was time to check in with a few of her allies. Namely the one who had left the battlefield in such haste after the man they had come to slay was dead.
But not by any hand of theirs.
Kicking the stand of her bike down half a block up from the Amtrum home, Delilah began her brisk walk to his door. She had heard he had been injured...and he was likely busy with the children, inn lieu of Bastille still being MIA, a fact that wrenched painfully at her heart.
To see her fall under Barker control again...
With a shake of her head, the raven haired woman reminded herself that it was Strike who was behind this...perhaps the whole time. Barker had only been his agent, and an effective one at that.
With a heavy sigh, the mechanic strode up to his door, and gave it a knock.

"Can you get that?" She could hear Mathew from inside say followed by a man's voice saying that he would get it since the woman was occupied. The sounds of movement from within the house lasted a few moments before the door opened revealing Sean Barker opening the door with blood still seeping down his nose which appeared to have just been broken not too long ago. He seemed surprised, but not at all displeased to see her. "Why Miss Black, it's nice to see you alive and well." He turned his head to look inside. "Would you like me to let her in?"

--And instead of whom she expected, like Mathew or Bastille (why she expected the disappeared woman, Delilah didn't know) or some servant of Mathew's or something (he seemed like the type). ...But instead, it was Sean fucking Barker. In the flesh.
Before he got to 'Black' in his sentence, Delilah's body exploded outward with metal spikes that covered her body and shot her hair back and away from her scalp into liberty spikes. Swirling pools of liquid metal replaced her eyes as she stared at the menace known as Sean Barker.
"YOU are supposed to be dead." she said with a metallic rasp to her husky voice.
A heart-beat passed.
"I would like to be invited in, please.", accompanying this was a high pitched grinding sound of displeasure.

"She can come in."
Mathew said from the couch. Inside she would find Mathew sitting on a chair and across from him Leon sat on a couch. Avenger was sitting on a recliner, sulking. While David Blaze was standing near Mathew's secretary who was barefoot and looking much like a 50's housewife in a light blue dress.
On the table between Mathew and Leon was a kettle of still steaming tea and cups, as well as sandwich squares. It looked like they were in the middle of something. Barker stepped to the side to allow Delilah to pass, but as she passed he would give her ass a quick slap.

David turned to Delilah, a small smile coming to his lips.
"I'm sorry. Welcome, Delilah. To what do we owe the pleasure?"

Leon would be laying on the couch on his side, sprawled out picking his teeth with the nail on his pinky. He'd throw a quick head nod in the direction of Delilah.

Her head dipped curtly as Barker stepped to the side to let her pass...but a chance to slap her ass he would not get. She stayed facing him, taking great pains to keep her eyes squarely on him as she walked past. Even going to such lengths as to walk backwards and away from him, leaving a good foot of space between them at all times. If he made a grab for her, or even to move into that foot of space she kept between them, Delilah would deftly sidestep or move backwards to keep it that way. And for good reason.
No need to get blood on Mathew's furniture.
There were other people in the room, observed at a glance. Woman she didn't recognize, David, Leon, Mathew of course. She nodded at each of them, though her eyes stayed on target. She would stand beside the couch, eyes never leaving Barker even as she addressed them.
"Thank you for inviting me in. I was here to check up on our Earth Dragon after the battle."
And then, to Mathew, "I would like it very much if you explained why Sean Barker is alive, please."

"Would you like the long answer or the short answer?"
He asked, not really reacting to Barker's attempt to touch Delilah. He had an idea of what he was getting at. Considering what Barker was. And it didn't bother him. He planned to shake the man's hand before the day was done. After all, the man was a hero.

"The long one."
Metal eyes shimmered briefly.
"I have no knowledge of what occurred while you were inside the facility or what happened afterwards. I would like to be informed."
To those that knew her, considering all present (save Barker) were her friends, this side of Delilah was quite...stiff. And formal, even for the ostensibly polite raven haired woman. She was exerting a lot of control over her urge to lose control.

David nodded.
"And we would if we had something to say at the time. But the Elders were hashing things out together- we would have informed you when we were ready. But we've still been working it out."
He glanced at Mathew.
"He can explain, as this was his idea. I back him on it- so just...think about what he says. It makes sense."
He knew she hated Barker with a passion...and hoped she could put aside those feelings to do what was necessary.

He sighed, not really caring to relive the events of the day yet ago. But it seemed that he had little choice at the moment since she had decided to just drop by to visit. And considering what was going on passing would just cause more problems. So he would compromise. Because he really didn't want to go into it in detail again. It was too fresh. Plus he didn't like someone coming into his house, and then questioning his guests and acting like she was owed an explanation.
But he just came back from being dead for three hours and an eight month non stop battle. So he was a bit cranky.
"John Strike came in and killed Hades. I gathered the death God's and died to go to the underworld and retrieve him. I was given a way to ensure that I come back. Upon finding Hades it seemed like he might not make it back as my way back wouldn't work for both of us. I gave it to him and told him I would find my own way back. Having been literally dead for far less time then him."
Ok yeah, he was a little snippy.
"So I am stuck there with nothing but Barker's soul to keep me company. And if it wasn't for him I would have been lost in there forever. He literally saved my life in more ways than one down there. How could I not return the favor? A life for a life. I am not an unfair man."

The apparent rudeness was ignored, as it always would have been. She was here for information, not the tone of his voice. Though as he discussed going to the underworld, the sharp spikes along her arms and back undulated briefly...before melding back into her skin, as he explained that Barker had saved him in the underworld, and what Mathew went through to try and get Hades' soul back.
A better reason than the one she was expecting. John Strike killed Hades and Barker, and Mathew saved them both.
"I heard you were injured," she turned her head slightly to look at him from the corner of her eyes, not that anyone would be able to tell as it was just a simple twitch of the metal coating. "Did anything of interest happen in inside the facility before you and David were expelled from it?"
This time, she was looking to David and Mathew to answer the question as Leon had not been present.

So Leon picked his nose and wiped it on Mathews couch!

David took this opportunity to speak.
"Nothing happened of interest. We ran into some trouble as expected. Obviously not enough."
A grin. They were still there and alive, after all. He scratched the back of his head. On the one hand, he didn't like giving a report to a woman that was not his superior, nor did he like feeling like he had no choice in the explanation. But truth be told, he loved Delilah, like a close friend, and hoped that her tone was because she felt comfortable to talk to them as equals. They, meaning him and the other Elders, had shrugged off the lack of respectful introductions or hellos already. David would walk forward and take her arm, giving a gentle squeeze, releasing the woman he had caught in his wind net earlier...finally.
"What rumors you heard are likely true. I fought a mirror of myself, and he died. Mathew fought Barker and lost an arm, then Strike snapped Barkers neck. Mathew took Barker and a lot of things happened that would take far too long to explain. The gist is- Barker saved Matts life and is free of Strikes control. He will be confined to this house, unless he is with Mathew on errands. The penalty of breaking that law is death."
He hoped that would help her calm down a bit, and shift from her ready-to-use-qi form. He would give a brotherly pat on the shoulder.
"Why don't we get you some water and we can chat some about why you were here originally."

Avenger would throw his handle at Leon's head as he went for the booger wipe. Giving him a cold stare suggesting that it would not be a good idea to do so.
Mathew would look at his stone arm when Delilah said that she heard he had been injured. Looking back up at David, Leon, Avenger, Gemini, and Barker.
"Do I look injured to you guys? I feel fine?"
He exhaled slowly through his nose and looked at Delilah.
"I'm sorry, being dead must have done a number on me. Because I don't recall us actually needing to inform you or answer to you. Especially in my own house. I get that you want to be informed, but no amount of pleases and thank yous change the fact that you come into my house and the first thing you do is question me on my guest. And then proceed to interrogate us."
