Hyperion laughed.

"Oh Kiyr."

The ring was in his hand...another fractal of the light....but he smiled.

"Thank you."

He would slip the ring on his finger, and watch her, waiting.

Hyperion would receive a very slight bow - hand over her heart - as he slipped his fake ring into place...and then turned, bringing the mask that was attached to her out into the open.

She glanced back at Hyperion, the black feathers dissipating just a little before seeming to regrow with the motion's end.

"If you would accompany me and show me, that would be appreciated."

Hyperion got a darker look...but nodded.

"I can. But you won't need me to. Look at the ones with red on the inside of the left sleeve. They are the high officers."

He turned to look at David.

"Would you...like to see him? Through my eyes?"

[Kyrie Blaze]

...oh. Well. That made sense. She nodded slightly.

"I promise I will not cause their bodies harm."

The question caught her off-guard. The ever-present question of 'why?' settled into her expression, even as her brows drew together.

Not trusting herself to speak, however, even as curiosity got the better of her....she nodded, slowly.

He turned to look back at her...then threw a palm up in her face.

She would see a blinding flash of light...then nothing. Just blackness. Like she was blind. After several moments....her sight would return. But different. She would see everything...but David was the one that was different. He had this sort of air...she could reach out and touch with her energy. And she would know she could see him. Truly, without barriers...if she would but reach out and take it.

Hyperion watched, waiting for her to do so.

The blonde jerked back slightly--though with the difference in their speed it was still more like he moved, stopped....and then she moved. It seemed like she'd been blinded, and the small blonde swayed on her feet before widening her stance.

Slowly, her vision came back and she breathed a tiny sigh of relief.

Blinking, she took a look around, and stopped when her gaze and new sight passed over to David. Her brow furrowed...and it took her a few more long moments to work up her courage before she would do just that.

The aura around him expanded suddenly...and David was plunged in darkness. It was like he was a shade of pure obsidian, and she knew that was the darkness inside him. She would feel a slight tug from his center, though...and would have the opportunity to dig deeper.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Part of her was shocked and alarmed...and very shaken. The tug...the tug gave her hope. There was darkness in him, yes. Maybe even more than there really should have been. But there was also light.

And she knew he had a lot of that.

So she followed the pull and searched under this surface of black shadow.

She would feel like she was circling the drain, being pulled into black...layer after layer after layer of black. Then...it was like she hit a beach.

Warmth splayed over her face, and a light brighter than the sun blazed over her, the heat intense beyond reckoning. Under it, at its center...was a small orb, green in color, and it would feel similar to the one that Hyperion had touched with his spear of light on the roof long ago.

A soul.

When the light hit her, even though it came from all around...she tipped her face up, as though there was a sun in the sky shining down. ...this was what she knew.

And her attention was slowly drawn around...to the small green orb. Gently, very gently, she brushed a small tendril of her own energy against it, enveloped by the light and heat. She wouldn't get to stay, long, she didn't think, but...

...but this would be something she carried with her 'til the end of her days.

David felt a chill creep up his spine...and turned to look directly at Kiyr.

For a moment or two...she let herself revel in it, and...attempted to share some of herself--some of her own light and warmth, if only to attempt keeping the darkness at bay. It was selfless instinct that drove her, but... True to her thoughts it would only be a few moments later that the blonde slowly withdrew. Withdrew from the green orb of his soul, left the light, and slipped back through the dark. She blinked rapidly and swayed but a little...only to find him staring.

She blinked her eyes, unknowing that they were a rich golden hue...then inclined her head, just a little.

David started heading over...as Hyperion took back his power.

"Do not tell him. He will not understand."

David walked up and looked at Hyperion...before looking at Kiyr...swallowing this strange feeling in his chest.

"You...did you...? Did you touch my shadow or something?"

He had felt her. He knew he had he just...couldn't explain it.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie blinked. Not tell him? Anything? What would she say, then? What would she do..? She was concerned...with all the shadow. She watched with wide eyes as he drew forward, her mind scrambling for something.

"Something akin to that, I suppose... I have something for you, at least." She lifted her hand, with an idea, palm towards the ground. From the shadow at her feet, her qi rose up with a black tendril. Her hand closed around the object the shadow tendril brought. When her fingers closed around the object, David would note that his contacts...suddenly seemed to bug out, but only when looking at Kiyr. One moment her powerlevel was stable, the next it was distorted and unreadable. Goosebumps rose up along her arms, and she slowly turned her hand and extended the object.

It was a wrist watch. One who - along with its components - had been in her shadow as much as possible since she got her qi and started collecting pieces; about a year.

It was meant to be a Christmas gift for him...but was belated due to...the situation that they were in.

David watched her, scanning her eyes as she held out the watch. He blinked a few times, shutting off the lenses as they were bugging out. As she passed him the watch, he let out a low whistle.

"Kiyr...you...don't have to give me this."

He knew it couldn't have been easy to make...
