Trouble with a capital 'M' (Kiyr, Open)

[Your Mom~]

Maddie gasped. "You have brothers and sisters?!?!" As an orphan, the only 'sisters' she had were the little girls she played with, but were her friends, they weren't actual real live sisters.

One time she'd asked Olesya if she could have a baby brother or sister to play with, which had only caused her mom to blush crimson and say something along the lines of 'well it doesn't quite work like that...'

[Kyrie Blaze]

Though she smiled, Kyrie's eyes darkened a bit. But she counted her blessings.

"Well...I only have one sister alive, now. My other siblings and my parents died when all the bombs fell. But Arianna is on the ship. She is a doctor, so she might be busy, but I am certain you can meet her." Her smile stretched a little wider as Einrik came back to hand them the washcloths. "She is getting married to David's brother, Damien~"

Did the girl even know she had an uncle? Kyrie would hand Maddie one of the soapy scraps of fabric.

"Some of the girls at Madame Butterflies died too." Maddie said softly, the child was not a stranger to tragedy. In fact she had seen enough to last her two lifetimes, and she was only ten.

The girl gave Kiyr a quizzical look, as if unfamiliar with what she was saying. Maddie had seen the man who looked kind of like her father, Damien as Kiyr called him, but she hadn't been around him enough to consider him family. She saw August more as an uncle than her dads own brother.

Kyrie gently nodded and lightly patted her hand against the girl's head before handing her the cloth with a slight smile at her reaction to her words about Damien. Clearly...

"I think you should meet him. And my sister, too. Maybe we can find them after we clean the wall and go draw on the art wall for a little while..?"

Because it wouldn't be fair to promise her being the first one to draw if she helped clean up her little flower and then put it off. She held her hand out, palm up, with one of the two cloths for her to pick up. Einrik brought a yellow and pink cloth, the other a green and purple mix.

[Your Mom~]

"OKAY!" Maddie exclaimed happily, grabbing the cloth with the pink on it and scrubbing at the wall. The suds dribbled down the wall and onto the floor in a small puddle, but at least she was trying, right?

Kiyr followed with a smile to help Maddie with the efforts on the wall. She didn't complain about the small puddle - that was easy to clean up - but after a couple moments would show Maddie a way that would work better as she helped!


Einrik couldn't keep a straight face. But he managed to hold back a snicker, at least.

Maddie was a very quick learner, and when shown the better way to wash the wall without dripping sudsy water everywhere, she changed her hand position and movement to mimick Kiyr's, grinning as they took the last of the crayon off the wall.

"Is the art wall gonna be very very biiiig~?"

The slender blonde smiled.

"Well, there are a loooot of people on the ship, Maddie, so the art wall is pretty big. But," Her smile edged wider. "The ship is making more than one art wall, too."

Leaving Maddie with the final scrub on that wall, Kyrie carefully mopped up the water on the floor!

A big long gasp follow Kiyr's statement, it almost seemed impossible that the small girl could hold so much air in her lungs! Her eyes widened and her smile brightened to a thousand watts.

"Oh! Oh! I want to draw on them ALL, Kiwi! Please please please!!"

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr couldn't help herself. She actually giggled.

"I would think in time you will draw on all of them. But we will not do that today. You and August and Youichi can search the halls for the others, okay? But you do not go by yourself."

[Your Mom~]

An equally long sigh...seriously, how big were these kids lungs? "Okayyyy Miss Kiwi." ...maybe. She didn't pinky promise after all! And if August and Youichi didn't take her to find absolutely all of them, she might be tempted to go out on her own...

Kids' lungs expand exponentially depending on their level of excitement, disappointment, or even exasperation! Still, it was pretty impressive for the young girl. The blonde eyed her unexpected ward, perfectly aware of why she was the unexpected part, then looked her in the eye.

"Okay what, Maddie..?" She encouraged, but seriously so.

The little girl wrinkled her nose. Kiyr was going to make her promise! "Okay I won't go to the art wall by myself-butwhatifAugustandYuyuwon'ttakemeeeeeeeee~!?"

She asked, a pure look of concern on her face. For a ten year old on a sapceship, drawing on the art wall was a pretty important thing.

Kiyr would smile as Maddie gave her word, and she raised her hands in a calming gesture with a slight laugh.

"Slow down, Maddie. It is okay. If August and Youichi are too busy, you can ask the ship if I can come to you. Orrr...you see this big guy right here?"

Kyrie would point out Einrik.


Einrik stared. A kid. Shit. He wasn't—he was kind of awkward with kids. But he wasn't mad or put off by the apparent babysitting duty Kiyr would have him on. It probably wouldn't be that often, but aside from that, he would do anything for her.


The blonde smiled. "His name is Einrik. Einrik, meet Maddie. I trust you can go art wall hunting with her, sometime?"


"Yeah. Of course. Hey, kid."

Cue awkward smile.

[Your Mom~]

"Eye-n-rick." Maddie repeated the name slowly, trying not to make a face. It would be a difficult name to say even without her minor speech impediment! Nonetheless, she smiled at the man. "Do you like to draw???"
