He didnt even look over as the animal swiped. He looked over at her, staring.

"Sorry. Did you want to hit me? Here."

He leaned in close. If it didnt hit him he would scan its eyes.

"Are you a human? You don't...exactly act like a normal cougar."

He would lean away, whatever the answer.

"No...couldn't be. If you were, you'd know this would be ten times easier if you'd shift back but....your not. So either your scared or...just a really smart cat."

And, unless interrupted, he would attempt to stick the needle in and...begin to stitch it shut.

It wouldn't hit him, but it did snarl, muzzle pulling back to reveal all those lovely, sharp teeth. It stared back, unblinking and unflinching...and unanswering. And yet, when the needle pierced as Jeremiah began stitching its side shut...the cat cuffed him with a sound of distress.

Otherwise, though, it didn't stop him, but continued to pant.

Jeremiah would finish in close to twenty or thirty minutes, and when done, would bend, face gently brushing the beasts side as he bit the thread off. He would turn and tuck it back into his clothes, using his napkins to wipe off his bloody hands.

"There. All done. You can go back to your hunt now."

He would gently pat its massive side before standing, walking over and grabbing his knife, sheathing it quickly before looking up at Scarlet.

"You ready to go or what?"

The man got a deep-throated rumble in return. Not a growl...more a purr, but not entirely. The beast grunted and got up, before seeming to follow his gaze up into the tree, tail twitching. The body was high enough that the foliage hid it. It would be safe from any others around the area.

The cat sneezed and rubbed what would be its "wrist" against its face, before sneezing again.

Jeremy turned back as the cat sneezed, Scarlet landing on his shoulder. He stared at it.

"You are....still here?"

He crouched.

"Come here."

He wondered...if it understood. If it did...perhaps he could get it to come with him.

Ears flicked before those green eyes stared up at the man. The cat gave a louder rumble but padded forward, the fur on its back rising a little before settling and smoothing somewhat.

His eyes would narrow, curious, studious. He would reach up slowly...and scratch its head a little, and behind its ears. His cat back home always used to love that, as did Scarlet. He figured...it must be an animal thing.

"Well...you are the coolest cat I've ever seen. And yes, Scarlet, I understand that i just sounded like a 70's jazz lover."

He would stand.

"I have a house, about a mile or so from here. How about, rather than keep killing dogs you come with us, eh? Not a whole lot of warmth between the three of us but hey, bets the shit out of sticking it solo."

He would start walking, then turn back.

"Come on."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The action brought the rumble back, this time as a noticeable purr as the great cat leaned its head into the scratching, and further still. A small grunt came when he stopped.

For a moment the cat watched as he walked, unmoving, and then the feline slowly stalked after the human and tiny, metallic dragon.

Jeremiah would nod as the cat started padding forward, turning around and heading off.

Though he didnt say it out loud...he fucking loved the fact this cat liked him. And didnt want to eat him. Mostly that. But definitely the first bit. He doubted anyone could say they made friends with a mountain lion.

He smirked, reached into a pocket and pulled out some glasses, sticking them on.

Time to head home.
