Coming out of the half-crouch that she had prepped to continue fighting. She'd walk over and help the guy up, putting an arm over his shoulder and helping him to the infirmary. She didn't talk to anyone in the crowd, the vast majority of which got the hell outta her way as they moved. She didn't say anything to him either, moving into the infirmary and letting the nurses take him. She took a seat at a chair against the wall while they worked, giving him some pain meds and setting the arm in a splint until the doctor could come to fit a cast.
Once the nurses did all that and left, Emily spoke.
"Sorry I had to break your arm. Being a Pillar isn't a game- what I did to you is nothing compared to what others may try. Having a snapped arm won't stop them from continuing to beat you bloody and raw either. You are meant to serve and protect the populace, but they have no such obligation to serve and protect you."
She would stare at him.
"What would being a Pillar do for you?"
It was a trick question, but she waited.

see my flames burning in the dark of the night | What would a pillar do to him? A great question indeed, and great questions requires great answers. He wasn't entirely sure what the girl wanted to hear from him, nor was he sure what he wanted to say at all. But what would it really do to him?
Fame, respect, problems, stress, danger, all these and any more are within the full package of Pillarship. Gaining the position would bestow many boons and banes to the man, but it really wasn't the question there. "You know very well what it'll do for me, you know the perks and problems that'll come with it... All the duties I'll have to face for being one..."
"What would it do for me? Hmm... Not much really, strengthen me, develop me... But what would it do for them?...."
He'd say, addressing the school populace. "It would have done them good..." The readhead would sigh, and in his mind he would think,
"... But I guess I'm not good enough..."

She would scratch her hair.
"Actually, I plan to make you my First Pillar."
She pulled up her hoodie, and would stand, shoving her hands in the pockets of the large article of clothing marking her Captain.
"Come to the Pillars office when they let you out of here. I'll hand you your Pillar items. As my second, you'll have a real chance to do something here. Don't make me regret it."
She would turn and walk out!

see my flames burn in the dark of the night | Magnus' eyes would widen, surprised that she still considered and took him in despite the fact that he lost against her. He'd sit down on one of the infirmary's bed as the nurse began treating his injuries, smiling as the lady would walk away.
"Aye aye captain."
