Spam posts. =D
Spam threads 5-10 years back were legendary and would stretch on for... 300 pages. Because, as we discovered with proboards, proboards apparently cannot handle threads with +300~ pages, and then cannabalized itself for more memory.
After the first incident, we would store spam threads once they got to that dangerous threshold and would start a new one. I can't remember if we actually made 10 or more spam threads or 7 or so.
Lot of old conversations, memes, etc. were generated on it and was a huge part of 259's community coming together as we just sort of... dicked around during our downtime.
We actively avoided things like CBox, Shoutbox, etcetera. And I think there was something of a forum superstition at the time would detract too much from actually posting (which would overall lead to forum inactivity), among other things. These days, 259 and 552 both have veteran players/staff that actively engage with their members and are either super active (552) or have a strong foundation (259)
But in any event, Spam is a huge part of our ancestry, even if we use the Shoutbox more these days
