EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Ohhh he was good, she could feel the rose quickly return to her cheeks albeit this time she was catching on to his little game a bit, just slowly. It certainly didn't lend her any sort of levity either when he was playing up those features of his however non-subtly as he could. Violet would find herself glowering a little bit more so grumbling at herself for falling into it despite seeing it coming at her like a speeding train.
There was that 'Date' word again, it made her stomach turn although in some ways it wasn't too displeasant making her yearn perhaps for it again and this time not drawing all too much attention to the sentiment.
"No I ugh, I lived on the east coast most of my life although hardly anywhere feels more like home than here." Vi would grin back at him looking up at the pastel sky above and grinning wildly, her hands would delicately play with the edge of her plate and for once would seem to pass up the food not paying it any mind. Her own thoughts voyaged back to when she had been back 'home' as it were, if you could call it that. Home had been a place of four white walls and curtains not letting one venture out into the light. Family was the doctoral staff that came to visit with a cocktail of some mystery fluid that they placed between your spinal column causing more pain than pleasure.

He grinned.
"Ohh! Very cool! My parents own some businesses back east so we would visit there all the time. Had a summer home in West Virgina off the Shenandoah river. Gorgeous views, trees, animals....I miss it and them like crazy."
He took another bite of his bagel, his smile having faded the more he spoke. He would try and turn attention back to her.
"What brought you to 259? I mean, not to be too forward but you're stunningly beautiful, and you seem extremely kind. You don't...really seem like someone who would be forced to enroll here."
So...it must have been by choice, right?

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would return a somber grin her eyes seeming to water at this point, the flattery at this point was falling unto deaf ears as she just exchanged gazes with him momentarily refreshed of her past. The fitting wrench in her stomach acting up again reminding her just what awful things she'd buried away in the past only to have them to be nonchalantly expressed here like some remedy. Vi would frown taking her emotions into her own control as she'd wave her hand in front of his face wordlessly dismissing the question in its entirety.
"It's no big deal really, new school needed new students nothing serious." She'd feel an express need to emphasize that last word forcing up a feigned chuckle before locking eyes again. "How about you? Seem like a well put together piece of work, what brings you to this crazy house." Violet would grin faintly her features not the best at hiding repressed pain seeking to devour her as memories of that time past danced across her memory.
The room. Painted white and absent of anything. Smoke charred black and screams.

He shrugged, taking another bite, unphased that she hadn't acknowledged his always-smooth flattery. There was plenty left to spare, after all.
"I was convicted of a murder I didn't commit and my parents paid my way out of jail and into this school for "reformation", as they call it."
He would wipe his mouth again, watching her as she seemed a little...wound. Still, he didn't know what was going on in that head so instead he just furrowed his brow and tipped his head to the side. After swallowing, he leaned forward, intent that nobody else in the room should hear their possibly personal conversation.
"You alright?"

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Kyle would snap her out of her intently focused thoughts, the apparent lack of her otherwise pleasant disposition would make any pause in conversation stand out. "Yea I'm great." She'd lie still lingering on the absent screams clawing at the back of her mind. "I just don't like living in the past." Violet's voice still a shade darker than its normally cheery disposition. Her eyes would linger lost in his for a second before cascading down to her plate, that's right she'd nearly forgotten.
'Omfff'
The blunette would take an unladylike bite out of the bagel making herself a little bit of a mess as she gnawed down into the gifted meal without the previous hesitation. Once finished she'd reach out for a napkin and pepper her features lightly to conceal her messiness. "I enjoy the present, and the future, although don't get me too hung up on that I may never recover from the blushing fit I'd have." Her voice, features, and mind would slowly come to recover and a bright resounding aura would ensue to the sound of her laughter.

"Hm. You didn't seem great-"
That was all he got out before she started in on the food like a mob on a witch hunt, devouring it with the flame of her hunger. He sat back, mildly impressed at the voracity and charm in which she inhaled the bagel. If he hadn't just been trying to poke and prod into her past, he might give her a little applause and say something like "Ou, sexy." but for now wasn't to be deterred. She read his desire to continue, however, and stated she didn't like thinking about the past.
He cocked an eyebrow.
"Those who ignore or forget the past are doomed to repeat it. I'm not saying you should dwell on it just...remember what mistakes you made on the way, so you don't repeat them. And it's not like I'd judge you- after all, I just said I was convicted of murder and you didn't even bat an eye."
Which was, least to say, not what he was used to.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would fretfully stare down blankly at the partially devoured bagel in her grasp, her eyes seemingly glazing over and remembered all too fondly about her past. She couldn't very well remember where she'd gone wrong or if it was her fault truly at all, she was but a child forced into this position against her will if there was anything that she could have learned from it she took that and moved onto this day with. Violet would in turn slam her palm down on the table forcing herself upright and in Kyle's face. For once you'd begin to see her kind demeanor flush away and signs of anguish strain her face, for once you'd see an entirely enraged face flushed with the color red.
"Falsely!" She'd paid keen attention to his words, never seeing to doubt anyone perhaps her own subtle flaw, her own way of dealing with crippling pain. "I learned that I should be an example! What did you learn? Get in people's faces? Dig out their hearts!"
Violet would grasp the plate and start off fuming, her pace foremost quick as she'd peter away from the table depositing the tray into its receptacle missing the first time with how angry she was and stopping only to kneel over and attempt the struggle again. The second time having as much an issue with the first seeing fit to try 'ramming' it in with force and letting out an irritated groan.

He jumped as she slammed the table. Eyebrows going up as she stood, he'd be frozen a moment in confusion. What....what did he say? They were getting along so well before....he stood and took off after her, coming around the corner and taking her wrist gently.
"Hey! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to.....upset you. You don't have to tell me anything I just....hope you have someone you can talk to is all."
He didn't care what she did, actually. Why she was there. Just the other day, he make friends with someone who beat their dad to death. He made friends with another who robbed a store at gunpoint. He didn't care about any of that- they were there to be reformed, right? So....shouldn't they all try to get along, being in the same boat?

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me She was notably upset, her skin taut and veins on edge seemingly giving off the impression of a very different Violet here than had ever really been seen at this school. Pretenses aside what she had become in this moment was a flash from the past a creature that they'd expected her to become but just wasn't in her. Sequestering the flame that was kindled inside of her Violet caught a reflection of her angered visage off a nearby window and slowly, very slowly it would fade. The face replaced would be one that was exhausted choosing to continue the fight however with a berated sort of energy that didn't know how much longer it had. "No I should be the one who is sorry." Violet would put on her best face at this point as tired eyes looked up at him apologetically, her hand extending as if to take bringing forth the best sort of person she could at this instant. "You were just trying to be considerate. I appreciate it but I'm fine really." She lied, more to herself than him. If she gave up on this lie she didn't really know what would come of it, only something bad she worried.

He would look around as she spoke, making sure nobody was listening. The small hallway was empty, thankfully, so he could try and be as honest as possible with her.
"It's not just that I was being considerate- I'm alone here. Every one I've met has been standoffish, wary, controlling. You seem nice. I'm trying to make new friends and I thought...."
He didn't have to spell it out for her- people got along with him because he played nice. It was habit. Show them what they want to see and everyone finds you agreeable. Kyle was a nice person, or so he felt- but he'd been used plenty of times in the past. Most notably by his brother, which is what put him here. He leaned back against the wall, offering her a little smile.
"Friends help one another, right? I mean, you don't need to tell me you're lifes story if you don't want to but...I've got a pretty good set of ears so I'm willing to listen if you wanna talk. That's all."

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me "Thank you....really." Violet would try reaffirming her statement as before, there was a heat in her cheeks, a pain in her chest that straddled her breath making her feel so very empty but at the same time full; full of things she'd rather not be privy to. For that bit she wouldn't linger on it even when burdening a friend who was just looking out for her. Shaking her head Vi would settle back into her previous carefree features before directing Kyle once again. "Its settled, if I do in fact have a problem you'll be the first to know..." Violet would turn about into her backpack pulling free a juice box and popping the tab on it with her plastic straw before taking a gregarious slurp on it not making eye contact with him.
"You really are nosy aren't you." A teasing statement more than anything still not looking him in the eye.

He gave a little smile.
"Not really. I just know a fake when i see one"
He maintained eye contact, not scared she would retaliate or get angry again. She seemed eager to keep some measure of control over herself. She reminded him of his brother. The one who smiled and laughed and joked- but who kept to himself and plotted in the dark. A cruel and vicious little kid. Kyle only came here for him to keep his parents safe. His brother had....he shook his head, taking himself out of his own thoughts for a moment.
"My brother used to wear a painted smile all the time. I'm not saying you have one but... I've just never known anybody who is that happy. Unless they want people to believe they are. The Captain is no different- seeing her at the Riot? She giggled with glee at fighting, yet suddenly suppressed it all when they ran. Like she couldn't let anyone believe for a second that she was human."
He'd look back at the cafe.
"If you don't want to talk to me, that's fine. Just don't insult my intelligence."
He'd start heading back that way, to leave her there as it seemed to be what she wanted.

EVEN WITH THESE CHAINS
you can't stop me Violet would keep to herself, still quietly slurping at the juice box seeing fit not to respond to Kyle's accusation whether he intended it to be directed at her or otherwise. He'd even see fit to compare her to people like Emily and his brother. She was irritated, enough so that she could keep control of her features turning a bland sort of look not making eye contact with him for fear of losing her cool again. Violet would wait long enough for him to leave waiting until he was out of earshot before responding herself quietly beneath her breath.
"Jerk..." He didn't know her didn't see what she'd been through, his self-righteousness threw her up a wall. Violet having never been irritated found this emotion to be unsightly and quit possibly her least favorite out of the bunch as knots wove in her stomach wanting her to belch up the hostile words but choking them down all the same. With the juice box in her hand she'd feel a wet substance trail down her palm before realizing that in her haste she'd smashed it clutching an empty husk that dribbled what was left of its remains down her arm.

He picked up his pack and paid for a cookie before turning around and looking at the hall from inside the cafe. To see if she was still there. If she wasn't, he'd look down at the snack and chew his lip. He felt bad, at least a little. He didn't mean to hurt her feelings but, from what he could see...she didn't seem interested in having a friend so much as she wanted someone to use. He wasn't interested in it.
Still....he wished he could help her, somehow. He was sure she was a kind person if only he could...get through to her.
Then again, he used to think the same about his brother.
He sighed and left, heading for the pool to get rid of some of this sweat and memory.
