Melanie would walk through the doors of the newsletter office, looking around for... she didn't know. There was something she needed. Turning around she would sigh.
Oh well, I can always come back later.
She'd head back to the hallway towards her locker. She might be able to find whatever it was there.
Let's see... 13-29-45. That's it... Nope... still nothing.
She closed her locker and turned around and lean up against it and sigh. There had to be something... Melanie would stand there for a few minutes waiting for lightning to strike.
"Now what?"

Just after she said "Now what", Kyle came blasting through the door of a classroom to her left, smashing it to bits as he hit the wall opposite. He groaned as he hit the ground, his nose all bloody and eye socket swollen. The guy who was following after him seemed pissed off, as did the two that were keeping up. The guy threw a swing, which Kyle blocked with the outside of his left forearm. His hand launched out, slamming into the kids throat and causing him to choke and stumble a step backward. Kyle then kick him in the chest, sending him into one of the two men who had been following.
Inside the classroom, three more bodies were on the ground and a half-dressed girl was cowering in the corner. Kyle was taking deep breaths, trying to move through the pain but he was at a sincere disadvantage.
"R-right. Next?"

Melanie jumped off the wall and ran to the doorway the three had just come out of. Reaching into her satchel, she'd pull out her new Ivy Whip. Finally making it to the doorway, she'd look around taking in the situation. Girl half dressed, three guys on the floor, one fighting and obviously about to lose. Melanie would crack her whip once. The deafening noise would echo off the walls. If any of them had any sense, they'd stop. "What the hell is going on in here?! All of you had better stop now!"Melanie would wait there a second. If anyone tried to strike at the other again, she'd catch their hand, arm, leg, foot... whatever with the whip and yank it hard. "I said stop now! Explain." Pillar's Avenging Ivy: Ability: Once per thread the whip of Ivy can hit a target and leave the mark 'PILLAR' on the body doing Melanie's Energy in damage. On the following round the person that has the mark 'PILLAR' on them takes poison damage of Melanie's Energy stat before the mark vanishes.

The men all stopped, Kyle breathing heavily with his fists raised. The two still standing took off, while the third continued weezing on the ground in misery. Kyle slid to the floor, closing his eyes as he tried to catch his breath. Yeah, okay. Noted. Don't take on six guys in a brawl. Bring backup. Maybe the dominatrix with the whip. He opened his eyes and looked over at her, realizing he was the last one around and would likely need to answer for the damage.
"Oh....uh....right..."
Another moment of heavy breathing.
"Six guys, started touching the girl after class. I came back in for my homework to make a correction, she tried to run, one grabbed her shirt and ripped it off. Then uh....hell broke loose."
That was the long and short of it, anyway.

Melanie's eyes searched the room for brash actions. Finding none, she would stare at Kyle as he told his side. Her eyes snapped back to the two standing.
"That true?"
She knew she wasn't much to look at. She was banking on it. But this... this was just wrong. She took a step towards them. Everything in her eyes and stature screamed danger not that the thugs would heed their warnings.
"Wanna try that on somebody? Try me."
She would raise her whip, snapping it back and forth, waiting. Melanie's eyes shifted to the girl then back to they thugs, she'd say in a low tone.
"Get out now. No sense in you having to stay here any longer. If you need clothes, wait outside the room. This won't take long."

The men scattered as the Pillar approached! They would attempt to flee quickly, Kyle flipping them off as they ran by. He knew they would probably find him later but he was glad not to have to worry about it now. His eyes came back to the Pillar, whom was telling the girl she would find her clothes. Kyle, meanwhile, would stand and attempt to slink away!
Best not get on the bad side of management....

Melanie would smile as the two tried to push past her.
"Run little piggies..."
Her whip would lash out and trip the two, planting their faces in the ground.
"Let that be a lesson. I'll let you go today, but if i find out you have done anything else... I will find you and you WILL regret it."
She'd turn to the boy trying to sneak away.
"Wait. I'd like a word. If i may, I need to get her clothes, but i'd still like to speak with you."

He stood straight as she told him to wait, then sagged a little but....would turn around.
"Right...detention I know. Can I get it while I get my face looked at? It's not much to look at but it's all I got goin' for me when it comes to the ladies."
He gave a crooked smile.
Clearly joking.

"Uh..." Melanie blinked. "Detention? No. I just wanted to know why you stuck up for her. You were cruelly outnumbered. You are pretty lucky I happened to be here."
He did have a rahter cute face, but seriously, if he was worried about his face, he probably shouldn't be at this school.

He blinked.
"Oh."
He put a hand behind his head, blushing furiously as he grinned.
"Just not a big fan of the whole molesting people gig, I guess."
His brow would furrow as his hand dropped, coming forward and pointing at her. Where had he seen her before....? HAD he seen her before? He cleared his throat.
"You a Pillar?"

I nodded.
"Yeah. Pillar and head of the news letter." I paused and looked him over. "You got a good eye for reporting? I have a need for people that can report things going on around the school. I can't pay much... If anything, but i can offer food and..." I paused and looked around the room smiling. "Protection, but i'm pretty sure you have that part covered for the most part."
I took a step to my right and leaned against the edge of a table.

Kyle blinked. Protection?
"W-what would that entail?"
He had to assess the risks and rewards first, right?
((Sorry, short post))

I looked at the bodies again then back to him.
"Well, I'll need you to let me know whats going on around the school. Like new teachers, fights, bad food... reporter stuff. Pretty much just letting me know what i may have missed. I run the news letter, so i need someone to help out with it."
I hoped that was what he needed to know.

"O-oh."
It didn't sound like a terrible job. He was meeting and seeing new things all the time. The only thing he was worried about was people trying to smash his face for being a lackey of the student hierarchy. It wasn't as though he was afraid, just that he was...wary. He scratched his head and grinned broadly.
"I'll agree....if you let me take you out on a date!"
Yeah, he was standing there bloodied and battered and bruised, and just oozed that confidence. Of course, he was mostly joking about the date- he really just wanted to get to the know the Pillars and really didn't know another way other than "Lets go grab a sammich".

I stared and leaned forward, not knowingly of course. And before I even knew it I fell off the side of the table. Ow.
"A... A date? What now? Are you serious? You only just met me!"
I was absolutely shocked. What did he think he was doing? Asking a date for his boss... technically speaking. I climbed to my feet and sat back on the edge of the desk again. Pushing my hair back out of my face i smiled. That totally did not happen. Not at all. Pillars didn't fall off things...
