Emily's phone went off. Jogging over and picking up the call, she would nod and grab her things. It seemed someone started a brawl out front and they needed a Pillar there.

Emily would grab her bag and head out.

Damien would note the sudden lack of the school captain as she moved off in order to answer her phone, and left which led to 2 small issues. One was the person he had just been about to pass the ball to, and let play had vanished, and the other was that, her team was now down a player. "Damn it." He muttered annoyed and walked over to replace Emily on her team.

"Fine then, I guess I'll even out the number now, but wouldn't be fair to start out with the ball." So instead he toss the ball to Melanie. "Get this game going already, before I get bored." He shouted and then looked back over the team that he had taken over. "And you lot better play like your lives depend on it. I hate to lose." He said.

Violet grinned with the absence of Emily, now it was a 2v1 certainly not fair but with the way this teacher was going about it as though they didn't matter Violet glumly glazed over that little inconsistency. With an eager grin she'd coo out to Melanie from the back line. "You got this, go girl!" Violet would eagerly call keeping very far from the present action making up her own little cheer squad.

I watched as my Captain let the court, grabbed her things, and left the gym.
"Need me to... Alright."
I looked back at my team mates then at the other team. This was not going to be exactly fair... We had all students, four of us to be exact, they had three students and a teacher. I shook my head and dribbled the ball. Here we go.

I sapped my head over my team.
"Remember what I told you!"
The girl stayed where she was and sighed.
"Whatever. I just did my nails. I am NOT playing this dumb game."
The boy took three steps forward and put his arms out by his sides in a defensive maneuver.
"I got ya here, Cap."

I shot up the middle and prepared to dodge left or right. This would not be easy. I suddenly wished it was Emily I was against, at least i kind of knew her style. I had no clue with this guy...

Damien would smirk to himself, as the girl at the back cheered on the other who seemed to be taking the game a little more seriously then the other was. One girl basically refusing to play on their side, gave Damien a little more of an advantage over them. As with Violet at the back line, and one player refusing to play, the three with Damien had less people that they had to deal with. Damien would push one of the people on his team in a commanding manner to the boy who was trying to play a defensive block as Melanie tried to push forwards. While the other two on Damien side would hang back ready. 

Damien himself would move to block Melanie off, using his size and stature in order to basically wall her as best as possible. One hand out wide to block her and make a swipe at the ball as she dribbled forward in an attempt to steal it, while the other hand remained low. Damien had enough knowledge of the game, to known that such a wide guard he made to block her progress opened up his legs, and the hand held low was there purely to incept any attempt to exploit that fact. Getting pass him would be hard but not impossible with the method he had used to block, and then she would still have to contend with the other two people on his team. Though Melanie did have the easy option of passing back to Violet near the back line, or attempting to pass to the boy who the last member of Damien team had come in to try and block to prevent a pass to him.

As much as Violet wanted to be a spectator at this point her team needed her and there was nothing more awful then a teammate who didn't pull their weight or at the very least try their best. Running up to flank Melanie she'd keep a close five to six feet diferential with hands at the ready seeing the teacher post himself in Mel's way. "I got yo back Melz!" Vi would say loudly clapping her hands together to suggest that she was open behind her if she got caught up and needed to pass.

I dribbled forward with a smile on my face as I headr Vi take up the slack of the girl who refused to play. Fucking slackers. The teacher pushed.. no shoved was more like it. He shoved a kid to block the guy on my team and Vi came up the side. I saw Teach come at me with a wide block. Damn. I looked around furiously. He swiped and met my arm blocking it. He had a hard hit, but I could take it, no problem. I looked at Vi and tossed the ball.

"Catch!"

Right after that, I shoved my shoulder into the Teach and -hopefully- knocked him into his teammate blocking the boy. If I got past, I'd look back to Vi and hope she caught on to what I was trying. I hated sports. Too violent.

Damien wouldn't be too shocked by his attempt at trying to get the ball being blocked by Melanie's spare arm. However what came next he was slightly more taken by surprise with. Not the pass, that was to be expected, but too be shoulder checked by the girl that was a shocker. By right, Slamball being based on basket ball, meant that it was meant to be a no contact sport. But it was hard to call foul-play when he was playing himself.

So as he was hit in the chest, by the shoulder he was knocked back. However he slammed his foot down hard to stop himself going farther back and pushed hard. It made the contact of the shoulder hurt more, but using his weight he would try to barrel pass Melanie and break of pass her in an attempt to while not steal the ball from Vi, at least get in her way and slow her down.

Violet was by no means coordinated, so catching a pass was a bit of a struggle. She'd take the initial impact of the ball tossed her way and juggle it lightly in her grasp coming up with it in her palms as the scene broke out before her. Shoot. With teacher man quickly coming to block her off Vi had little to react with. Click. An idea hitting her and her speed mounting in a burst, wide stance or not she'd get an unusual burst of speed from her pin taking off beneath the teacher's right arm ducking in and dribbling up before tossing the pass back to Melanie who was still in better position to her. Even if their teacher had caught up with her Violet would've been sure to pass the ball off by then. She wasn't going to play dirty but having since ducked him or attempted to do so she'd merely body the man blocking him off shy of pushing through her to get to Melanie. Might buy her friend a moment to get in for the goal.

I never watched basketball, so I had to guess at all this stuff. I had only seen a few of the things the players tried in passing while I was in a bar for the restroom or i had landed on that channel while watching TV. If the goal was to make it to the net, then didn't that mean do whatever it took to get there? It seemed like the teacher was caught /off guard/ with what I did. I had assumed wrongly. Oh well, no use correcting it now.

I looked back at Vi who now had the ball, but was also being charged by the teacher. Since he shoved past me, I could easily counter act his 'disciples' and perhaps make a shot. Vi went to throw me the ball. If she were successful, i'd jump high or reach out to whatever side it took to make sure I got the ball back. Once I got it, if I got it, I'd dribble to the basket, spinning around the other players making sure they couldn't get the ball. That was what I was supposed to do right?

Damien curse in a low growl under his breath as he charged forward and the girl managed to pass the ball away before he managed to really intercept. Spinning on the spot as fast as he could to try and see the action, as Melanie caught the ball and tried to push her way forward pass the other students that he had taken the team over from. The other students didn't managed to do much in order to get in her way and aggravated Damien was forced to go running back towards the basket.

It would depend on what the other team did with the ball near the basket like they had, if Damien would have any chance of reclaiming it. However Melanie had time before he reach the zone around the net.

"SHOOP DAH WOOP!"
Would be what Melanie heard as Violet shouted from her position 'shoot the hoop' but somehow being turned into some slow motion shout of anxiousness. This teacher had done plenty in the way of downplaying her tactfulness now this would be a pleasant if bitter surprise if even after the mocking they came up with the big W.

I caught the ball and dribbled past the other teams 'defenses' at incredibly decent speeds. Hearing a growling curse, I'd step it up a notch as I moved toward the basket. I had to make this shot. I had to get a point for my team in this stupid game.
I heard Vi shout something sounding like 'shoop dah whoop' and I almost faltered in my steps to look back to understand what it was she was trying to get out. Hearing the teacher behind me, I bailed on finding out what it was and kept on pace to the hoop. {Took a side step}
Finally making it to the trampoline, I'd jump up, bounce and then it was all net!
Slam dunk!!!

After making it back from the hoop, I'd jump away and race back to Vi. A huge grin taking up my face.

"Good work team! We did great, what a tag team!"

I knew we weren't done, but I was so pumped from my first hoop. Was this what it felt like all the time to play sports?

Damien was not pleased by the turn of events that cause the points to be lost to the other team, and wouldn't give the girls time to really celebrate. Rushing to the ball at the back line, he threw it out to one of his team mate to resume play while the other side was distracted in the pleasure of scoring and then legged it forward down the gym. "And back." A shouted order was giving as he was rushing down, and the guy he had thrown the ball would send it back to Damien who would start dibbling the ball and advance like a wall, ready for the other team to try and stop him but having made a reasonably length of the pitch before they would really be expecting it.

Violet would cheer a giddy howling scream before pouncing up towards Melanie and attempt giving her a sad mixture of a high five awkward hug somehow failing miserably in the attempt of the hovel as the other students joined the fray.

The shout back would redirect Violet's attention as she lunged back into the battle of this game. At this point Violet saw the maddening charge of their teacher. She'd do whatever she could to stop him which in this case surmounted to her running straight up to him stopping but a good two feet from him and extending her body in an X making herself wall off as far as she could extend and just stand there to take a blow if he didn't alter his trajectory.
