Warren ~~~~~ | Warren would grin as she tried to cover her tracks or rather act like she didn't need the hand out, whatever she needed to maintain that pride she had he knew all too well what it was like so he'd be happy to give up pursuing the route and let her maintain whatever comfort that she'd needed. "Yeah.. yeah I do." Warren would admit, she'd shared something with him now was his turn that was a comfort that people needed to relinquish to one another before trust was forged. "You see my parents they uh they passed away, My Uncle runs the place, well he's not really my uncle more of a close family friend but he's basically family and a real good guy." Now he was just running his mouth. Kadya |

Kadya wasn't good with people. She really wasn't.
How could she be? She was still trying to figure out who the hell she was, and when it came to others, she just didn't have the slightest clue. It was something her Mother had always tried to instill in her, this empathy and understanding for what other people thought and felt, but when it came to her Father, Kadya had been met with just as much confusion on the matter as she, herself had.
So, not surprisingly, that was the side she had chosen to follow, ignoring her Mother's words of warning as she tried to tell her how awkward and downright brutal the world would be if she didn't do it.
Sure, she could read them, but understanding was a whole different ball game.
Now, here this guy was trying to tell her something that she knew should have been sad, but at the very most, she could only nod and think, That sucks.
"Um, my Dad...is gone." Yeah, cause if she said anything more than that, she would probably end up being uprooted, again, and dragged across the country to some new place with some crappy ass house, worse than the one she was in now. Not exactly something that Kadya was looking forward to, not when things with her Mother were simply getting worse and worse by the minute.
Clearing her throat, her fingers twisting into the hem of her jacket which she clutched to her chest, Kadya glanced toward the exit. She should probably go, though going home was not as appealing as one might have thought. So, she stayed put, against her better judgment.
"So yeah, sucks about your parents and stuff." That was good, she thought. If not? Well, it was too late to take it back now.

Warren ~~~~~ | He'd nod in the successive silence, he didn't want to push her feelings were hard and they didn't come easy or at the very least confessing them certainly didn't fix things to start. Warren would offer her a gentle smile rising again before taking a last slice of pizza leaving the box with two extra still there if she'd wanted it. "Looks like there's a break in the weather, best be getting home." He'd say softly before heading to the door and casting a glance back. "Drop on by if you just wanna talk even.. got a sick set of games too." A sheepish shrug offered as Warren stepped through the doors. The walk home would be a dismal one, not that it'd be any better in the rain but Warren made it anyway. The doors of the arcade locked but he'd stashed a key in his back pocket that'd open a side door to the second floor. He'd make way into a makeshift apartment where a few people lay spread around a table talking gingerly. "Hey guys.. so bad news..."Kadya |

"I could come with."What?! "I-If you want, that is?"
She found herself wincing as she bit her lower lip, once more chewing on the inside corner as her fingers twisted tightly into the jacket in her hands.
Why on earth had she said that? She didn't want to go there. She wanted to stay here, where it was musty and filthy and quiet. Not follow some unknown boy to a home for wayward children. Yet, even as she thought this, she found herself sliding on her jacket and then the jeans that had been tucked neatly beneath it.
She felt the water that still soaked her black pants working its way through the denim, but she didn't right care. She had much more pressing matters to be concerned with, such as what the hell she was going to be doing now.
Her hand instinctively pulling her hood up as he stared out, hiding herself from the world, further into the shadows of the night. Her hands jammed into her pockets, her thumb idly toyed with her phone, sliding along the screen slowly as she drug her feet almost childishly against the pavement.
When they got there, she barely noticed how far they had walked. Her mind had been far too distracted, contemplating ways for her to run in the other direction without seeming too rude or too odd. Of course, none of her ideas had been valid or plausible and before she could come up with anything, she was there, slinking back against the nearest wall and ducking her head.
Maybe if she was just quiet she could disappear and not be seen. They'd forget she was there and then she could leave.
It wasn't much, but it was by far the best plan she had in that moment.

Violet Warren, James, Liz, Anna, Franko | "You got fired again didn't you...." A dull voice that came from a small girl at a table in the center of the room would call out, her words echoing and silencing the others before being met with a howling erruption of laughter from the group. It'd silent down again after a short beat as a larger man made his approach across the room, his features masked by a face mask and what he was wearing certainly drew attention of those more normal... "Don't fret little one, you can always work here so long as you don't go beating on customers for destroying your high score again.." The large man would laugh placing a large palm on Warren's shoulder knocking him somewhat asunder before casting his gaze on the smaller figure at his side. "Who's this little gem?" Most saw Franko as an intimidating behemoth he'd hoped that she didn't get that very same impression. "He can't work here." Warren would stagger more from Liz' blank remarks then from Franko's heavy hand. "This is Kadya, she's lookin' for a place to crash... I guess?" Warren would say very slowly hoping at some point she'd interrupt him, he was fairly new in this group and was still earning his points. "There's always plenty of space here for those who need." A figure from the back of the room would state. Taller woman than the two at her sides a blonde man and a brunette woman, she stood out between the two with the bright blue hair and her dominating stature. Sipping her soda she'd glint upwards, "Any friend to Warren is a friend of ours..." A smile offered to their newfound... friend.. Kadya |

Though she had hoped that she would go unnoticed, it seemed the odds were not forever in her favor. Not only did one person notice her, but several, and by the time the final person had finished speaking, Kadya could feel the pain in the small of her back as she attempted to press herself against the wall, and then into it.
She just wanted to disappear, vanish without a trace, but the ability to do so was far beyond anything she was capable of, and so instead she was forced to lift her head and look around, examine the figures of all those who now had their eyes on her. Even the ones that didn't made her feel as though she were being watched, and it was a feeling that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. She didn't like it, and she very much wished that she could be the one hiding somewhere, watching all of them.
It was hard enough to learn how to adapt to one person, but this man would be overwhelming. She had no idea where to begin, and the biggest man in the room was not helping her to focus at all.
He was huge, and if his size was not intimidating enough, the mask he wore was definitely enough to make the petite redhead rethink everything she had done since hearing that buzzer sounding off inside the abandoned house.
Slowly, and with caution in her every move, Kadya cleared her throat and reached up to push back the hood she had been hiding behind. Damp, tangled red locks spilled free now, falling down over her shoulder and past her waistline as she tried her best to force a polite and friendly smile onto her lips.
"I wouldn't wish to impose."
She really didn't want to go home, but at the same time, she wasn't sure she would be able to get a wink of sleep in this place. There were too many people, and it reminded her of the Women's Shelters that she and her Mother had lived in for awhile back in Wisconsin. Sure, most of the people there had been nice, but there had always been that one guy who watched her just a little too closely and who tried to hug her just a little too long.
A wave of illness washed over her, causing her to shudder right there on the spot, though she supposed that it could simply be taken as a chill setting in from all those damp clothes she had one. "Its very nice to meet -- "
She paused, looking to the larger man, then those around her, eyes lingering on the woman with the vibrant hair for a moment before tearing themselves away.
Inside of her jacket, she could feel her hands balling tighter and tighter together. If she wasn't careful she was going to end up digging her nails into her flesh, drawing blood that would draw questions and stain her jacket, one of the only two she had. "A-All of you."
Finally managing to choke out the words as her eyes examined them once more before averting directly to the floor.
Inside, she hated herself for being so meek and timid, thinking that her Father would be entirely disappointed in her if he knew what she had become. She had been so self assured and reliant before he was taken, and now she was a broken, beaten down mess inside and out, obviously.
"W-Warren just mentioned that I could possibly come here, and I mean, I don't want to take up room or anything. I just," Again, she paused, "don't want to go home."

Violet Warren, James, Liz, Anna, Franko | Franko would lax on his attention to the girl when Warren placed a hand on his hulking shoulders turning downward to Kadya with a welcoming grin. "Don't be shy, he's big but he's more of a lover than a fighter." With that Franko would cross his hands over his chest disapproving of his secrets being revealed. Liz would turn and look at Warren exchanging a cool glance whilst holding a half eaten cookie. "Won't be saying that when he breaks your arm for not pulling your weight around here." Warren would drop his cool guy persona and stagger to the floor defeated. He was always picked on by these guys even though in Violet's own words it was out of friendship. She would stand up from across the room long enough to grab herself another soda from a mini-fridge in the corner of the room. Crossing the room she'd lean over towards the smaller girl and extend her hand with the grape-soda. Life can be rough sometimes." She'd hold out the can until Kadya took it all the while she was reminded of how things had taken a recent darker turn in her life. Violet wanted to help people, she wasn't like Emily where she could think big and sacrifice the few for the many, she had to do with what she had at her disposal work day by day one person at a time. "Feel free to crash here if you want, if that's alright with you Jimmy?" She'd flit a glance over her shoulder to the blonde who was idly playing a game of solitaire on the table not paying the group much mind. "Yea yeah, girls go over great with gamers, if anything she'll probably draw in a few new folk." James would say raising his attention from the cards briefly reading them. "By the way you've already met Warren; This is Franko, Anna, Liz, James, and I'm Violet nice to meet you." She'd bob her head gently with a grin. She was sure that the room may still be a worry to be considered but most of these guys didn't actually live here after all. Kadya |
