It was Shou first day at the new school, since him, his mother and stepfather had moved to the city. So far Shou had been able to get by seemingly unnoticed. His teachers didn't really make the new arrival the centre of attention, which he was glad for and as such he had been able to get through the few starting periods of the day happily by himself. However as lunch time rolled around that would change. Because up to this point, Shou had kept his school back pack closed and it content unused. But finding a nice spot in the courtyard, Shou finally cracked the zipped open and pulled something out from inside. Had their been an onlooker paying attention to such a thing, that would have been disappointed if not slightly confused at first, as he drew from the bag... A bag, precisely a laptop bag.
The laptop was quick to follow, being removed from the second bag and brought out so that, Shou could make some note of the school day so far, that he had been keeping in his head. A couple overheard conversation and the like, that would probably be extremely useful if he wanted to get by in the school left alone. However before google docs, was even open trouble loomed. Trouble loomed in the shape of three shadows of larger students, who had gathered at the sight of a small man with a laptop that from first glance appeared to be top of the line, and as such expensive.
One of the men bent down and made a grab for the laptop, but Shou wouldn't allow that to happen, and rolled backwards, leaving the bags on the floor and ended up in a crouch one arm protectively around the laptop. "You new here kid? So you don't know not to mess with me and my friends." The guy threatened, he was a nobody in truth but size and the unknown made the three intimidating. "No.." Shou answered weakly, he wanted to get away but there were still other possessions in the backpack and laptop bag that he couldn't afford to leave behind. "Just leave me alone." Shou tried to sound a little more confident and failed.

"Hi."
Standing behind the much larger males, Emily's eyes were looking up, trying to focus on the three while seeming threatening. It was difficult, what with her standing there in baggy sweatpants and a sweater that seemed all to big for her. But those who saw her gloves or new her face might recognize the School Captain. With the ending of that title across the back of her shoulder blades, those behind knew it all the more, stopping to see if perhaps they might get the chance to watch the Captain go to work. Em, for her part, surely hoped that would be the case. She'd been doing schoolwork and patrolling all day, but had yet to put down a single fight.
Either they were getting wise, or picking smarter battles.
She brought up an arm and pointed at the front doorways of the school.
"You guys should leave."
She'd seen what was about to go down from inside those large glass doors, and judging from the students attitude and appearance, he probably wasn't one to go throwing blows for no reason. Which was good- she wouldn't have to give him detention too. She would lower her arm and stare at the seeming ringleader, waiting for compliance.

Compliance did not come, as the leader looked at Emily and then to his two friends. His thinking along the veins that thing were three of them, and that if he didn't stand his grown then the two friends he did have would look down on him, for backing down. Peer pressure will win ever time you try to fight it. Meanwhile, Shou noticed the hesitation the ring leader was having and didn't understand it. He knew nothing of Emily, nor did she look imposing compared to the three men. So he wasn't too shocked when the ring leader to an open swing for the girls face.
"Look out." Shou didn't shout but spoke in a raised tone. He wanted to make sure the warning was heard, but not to draw even more attention. As reserved an individual as Shou was, the idea of the guy trying to take a swing at the girl sickened him and so he move forward quickly and tried to shove the guy off balance. It really was a pissy attempt and pretty much did nothing, and Shou staggered back. It wasn't like Shou could know that Emily could have handled the punk unaided. Then again, calling his shove aid was like calling a calculator, a supercomputer.

Emily listened to the smaller male, pleased he was able to keep track of the punch and warn her. However, when he moved forward to protect her like the chivalrous male, he was inadvertently putting himself on her list of things she needed to keep track of. So, she'd have to make sure that the small kid didn't touch the ringleader, at the same time getting him out of harms way. So, as the big guy stepped forward she did too, with her left leg, throwing a harsh right kick for the mans side with the intent to send him flying toward and into his friend.
After/if it hit, she'd move forward to quickly catch the likely-stumbling smaller one and run three steps back with him (holding onto him by a grip on the front of his shirt.) Assuming her grip on him worked and she moved back several steps with him, she'd stop and set him down- either on his feet or on his rump.
"Stay."
She'd turn back, expecting one or two of the three to be attacking as she did so, ready to retaliate.

Shou was taken aback, at the burst of speed that came from the girl as he tried to shove him. Sending the guy knocking into one of the others and leaving him open for Emily to rush in and ground him afterwards. Being instructed to stay, Shou froze and just watched. Stunned he didn't even get to call out a warning this time as the first guy charge along side the guy who had been untouched. The pair came at her like it was a game of foot ball. The ringleader going in for a large tackle at her waist, while the other tried to rush pass and cloth line her if the tackle didn't work.
Still frozen, if the guy trying to do the clothesline got passed her, rather then turn and attempt to continue attacking her. He instead would rush Shou and frozen as he was he would be unable to anything as the guy quickly grabbed him around the neck and tried to put Shou between her and himself. Like a human shield, a human shield that his forearm would be slowly choking out.

Emily watched the man come for a tackle and, stepping right, would aim to kick him flat-footed (picture walking up to a wall and bringing up a leg to stomp on it) in the side of the head. Her desire was to send him flying at the legs of the second male and cause him to be thrown forward, his legs taken out from under him. If it worked, his head would be right level with the volatile right hook she would throw for his temple to shut out the lights.
Then, she'd stick her hands back in the pocket of her sweater. Dammit. She was trying to avoid knocking people out, what with Wren being on her pay now. She was gonna get an earful later. For now, she watched to see if any of them were able to move at all at this point. If not, she'd sight and shake her head before turning back to the small guy.
"C'mon. Least you can do is help me take them to the infirm."
And she'd bend to grab one by the back of the shirt and lift him to carry on her shoulder. A second one she'd grab an ankle and start dragging up along the ground, uncaring about scraps and cuts along the way.

Shou blinked, and the blinked again at the display that had just happened. Before bringing up his free hand and rubbing his eyes as if they weren't functioning properly. What the hell? He thought to himself, what sort of school had such a level of violence in it, that a random small girl was not just strong enough but skilled enough to drop three much larger men in such a short period of time. He was brought out of the little repose, by the girl talking to him, asking him to help take the guys to the infirmary and that made him think. "Won't you get in trouble?" Shou asked, as he quickly collected his bags, and regretfully put the laptop away for later use.
While Emily seemed able to carry the guys with ease, Shou instead was forced to use both hands to drag the last of them. A hand on each ankle and doing so walking backwards. The guy being pulled by him would have a much jerkier trip along the ground as every now and then, Shou had to pause and then tug hard to over come friction of the ground. Had the men been smaller, he might of done better. "Errr... Thanks by the way." He said was they took the men towards the school infirmary.

"No."
She continued to lug them along, pausing every now and then to look back and watch the kid struggle. He was....clearly weak. It wasn't a bad thing, just an observation. Opening the door, she'd let him walk in first before following after as though she were on a casual stroll. His next statement- thanking her- was not something she was used to. People normally just....assumed that was what she was supposed to do. She'd respond simply.
"You're welcome. You can leave him there."
One of her men that worked with the Pillars came up with a friend and would take the bodies, hoisting them with grunts and heading for the infirmary. Emily would turn to Shou and furrow her brow.
"You're new."

Shou couldn't help but be pleased when the guy was taken off of him but had to wonder who the people taken them were and why they seemed to be doing so at Emily's will. He felt like he was missing some key fact but had no idea what it could be. It was a shame that he hadn't known much about the school. It had beenn a sort of last minute enrollment for him as the school he was originally suppised to be placed at was apparently already overcrowded. Though he wasn't shocked when Emily said he was new. It didn't seem like she was asking but a statement like she knew. "Is it that obvious? " Shou asked in return. No wonder the three guys had tried it on with him but it made the morning of the day seem like an oddity in the fact he had been able to escape hassle up to that point. "I'm Shou and yeah it is my first day." He introduced himself meekly unnecessarily stating again that he was indeed new.

She looked away, back down the hall.
"Most students avoid looking up, and they certainly don't pull out expensive electronics in the middle of the populace. School has a way of beating those habits out of you."
She turned back to him and stared, making eye contact now and not looking away.
"Emily."
She felt like he was familiar....what was his name? Steven. That's right. Where's my book?, but it was probably her imagination. She glanced down at his meek frame and her brow twitched.
"You should toughen up. They'll eat you alive here."

Shou listened as the girl introduced herself back to him, in turn while talking about the school and its students to a certain extent. It didn't sound very pleasant to be honest, not that Shou had been expecting thing to be so. However from the fact he had been set upon on his first day, and witnessed someone of a insane physical calibre. Just how unpleasant the school may have been was starting to set in. Shou couldn't help but wonder if he would have been better off, if he had not been force to move her. 'Of course you would.' His mind answered his own mental question bitterly.
It was then that lost, in his thoughts Shou realized he had been starting to space out, highly rude of him to let himself be distracted in such a way. SHou shook his head and force his mind to catch up with the rest of what Emily had said. "Toughen up? How?" Shou asked.

She shrugged.
"I don't know. Whatever way works best for you. Learn to fight. Get someone to train you. Whatever."
She'd start walking away before pausing and turning back. The guy didn't seem like a terrible one to know the name of the Pillars- and from the sound of things he knew next to nothing about the way things worked around her.
"Look kid...you get in any trouble, you find me or one of my Pillars. We'll help you out. Until then just...keep your nose clean."
She'd sigh and turn to leave.

Shou even when Emily told him, to look up the pillars if he was in trouble after having told him to learn to fight, which wasn't something he felt like really doing, was left confused. He had heard the word used in the school throughout the day a couple of times so far, however had not actaully pieced together the context enough from what he had overheard to understand. He was to embarrassed though, after she had already help so much, to ask about it when it felt like he should for some reason already know. Instead before she left, he asked a different question.
"Wait...Errr...do you know anywhere, I might be able to use my laptop without being accosted like I just was?" He asked, he still wanted to make a note of overheard thing that he had, and now even more so make a note to look into what these pillars actaully were.

She paused, blinking, then shrugged.
"Library, probably. People tend not to mess with the books and so far not a single fight has been there that I have heard of."
She didn't often have trouble with people picking fights with her, so it was hard for her to point to a place in a school of bullies and felons that would be safe. She was in the library often herself so....maybe that's why people tend to steer clear. Sticking her hands in her pockets, she'd let out a little breath.
"You can always find a strong study partner."
Y'know. For defense.
"One of my former Pillars, Violet. She'd a kind enough person and might be willing to be your study buddy. She has a mean left hook too."

"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." Shou replied to the information that Emily gave him. The library sounded like a good start. Though once again he was made curious about what these pillars were, that the mentioned Violet was a former one. However he would make a note, to make a note of the person. Though being told who she was would do little into actaully finding them to meet them in truth. "Thank you again for the help earlier. Guess I will try hitting the library, before I have no break left." Shou added and would then shoulder his back awkwardly and take his leave as he noticed that Emily had been trying to do so herself before.
