Journey of Squad 1 (Stevie)

[Leon]

Officially Leon was assigned a Squad to train, but he hadn't found a student he would pass for mission except for Stevie-Rae. So when he told Asiv and Krane thats who he wanted for Squad one they gave him an odd look. Asiv asked if he was remodeling the Dragon Squad, and he shrugged.

"I don't plan on it, but if thats how it ends up. Look you want me to go on this long ass mission, thats who I'm willing to take. Unless you want to give me the Command squad, this is what I want."

In the end they relented and gave Leon permission to take whoever he wanted. So he was off to find Stevie.

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie was in the Gym taking out the anger she had at that Know-it-all white bitch with the fedora in Leon's class on the poor defenseless wooden dummy in the center of the room. Naturally, she'd dodge out of the way of oncoming attackers that weren't there.

Don't you think you should be focusing on someone more your level. You know, someone more in your own league. Besides, he's just not that interested in you. He likes a good fight. That's all. You barely give him that much, sweetie." Cereza had winced sympathetically at the last sentence. Stevie left, only dealing damage a random locker.

The wood began to show impressive signs of breaking under her blows. All cracks spread over the dummy as she landed blow after blow.

"How would... You know... What.. He... LIKES!?"

The left arm exploded from the side and sprayed the side of the room and the weight lifting equipment with tiny wooden shards.

[Leon]

Using the Seikatsugan it wasn't hard to find Stevie in the academy. She had hit one of the physical training rooms and her aura was flaring with anger. He wondered what about, but he deactivated the Seikatsugan and would enter the room in time to see the shrapnel of wood flecks hit the wall, whistling lightly he would step in and pick up a shard.

"A bit more of that and we can fill in a play ground."

Speaking as more of a joke than anything before stretching.

"Look, all joking aside, I got a mission to go on. It's gonna be a few weeks worth of traveling. You want in?"

[Stevie-Rae]

The voice hit her like a rush of cool water. She was still breathing hard, but she was calm. Leon was behind her making jokes. Funny.

"How did you know about my lifes ambition? All i ever wanted to do was create the perfect playground."

Stevie turned around and smiled. And nodded at once.

"I could use a break from this place. When do we leave?"

[Leon]

Leon would chuckle and move over to the wooden dummy. He was pretty splintered and damaged from the beat down he was taking. Leon rubbed his eyes and yawned however, looking to Stevie and smiling.

"Whenever you are ready. All my stuff is already packed and loaded in the transport jeep we get for the mission. Expect to be gone at least a month."

That was the mission time he was trying to stick to at least, but if it was longer they would have plenty of spare clothes and the like.

[Stevie-Rae]

His laughter rang in her ears like a bell. She almost didn't catch the eye rub and the yarn. Almost.

"Boss, you ok? You look really tired. How long had it been since you have had a good nights rest?"

A month they would be gone. A month they would have mostly alone. This might be nice after all.

"A month huh? I can do that. Things will be ok here without us? I mean leaving for a week it's one thing. But leaving for a month?"
A dark smile crossed her face.
"We might have to fight to get our territory back. Sounds like good exercise."

[Leon]

At the concerned question Leon shrugged and shook his head.

"I keep busy, I'm just exhausted from training."

He'd roll a shoulder to move to the next subject.

"David has things handled and the Command Squad is still around, though I hear they have a mission of their own to investigate some border issues. We are going a bit further than that."

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie let her smile fall.

"So no fighting then? Damn. I was looking forward to that. Well, I might need an hour or so. [In a high sarcastic voice] I have to find just the right outfit! Let me grab a few things, Teach. Unless ou'd like to help me pack. You'd have a better idea of what I need."

It was a bold faced lie. Stevie knew Leon was no fool. But what the hell, right? She'd grab a few set of clothes, still sticking to the types she usually wore. For the most part, she didn't need much. Maybe the credit card her parents left her and some feminine items, but really, thats it.


OOC: Sorry bout that last post. I switched sites in my head. Same picks threw me off. I just realized.

[Leon]

"Who says we can't fight them when we get back for the hell of it?"

Leon mused, though when she asked if he wanted to help her pack he'd half smile with a cocky grin before responding.

"I think a big girl like you can handle it, besides the mission will probably leave us with very little privacy for a while."

It was the truth, he would give Stevie her hour and tell her to meet him in Bay Four to get in the jeep and start heading out, though he would be standing outside the jeep. It was time to brief her on the mission.

"We are heading from here down to what used to be Florida. It's now sectioned off into three different territories. Reports suggest a criminal organization of Rogue's has been going town to town gathering newly awoken Qi users afraid of going to their territories academy for proper training. It's suspected they are really gathering a potential army to cause imbalance and possible war between larger territories. Our job will be to investigate the legitimacy of the reports and if need be shut it down or call for back up. Either way our actions will have direct consequences to the future. As you are aware your rank and position here make you one of the higher ranking members of the Cabal Military, which means exercises are over and we may end up killing people on this mission."

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie cursed silently in her head. It was worth a shot. It seemed they were going to Florida... To stop a guy from creating an army. Interesting.

"So we, the military, have to stop this person from gathering an army of new users. I think I have read this book. Weren't there Vampires and werewolves too? Just saying." She'd pause for his reaction then continue. "I am perfectly fine with stopping bad people, but i'm not cool with killing. I'll excersize every restraint method I know before I take a life. I don't want that on my conscience."

[Leon]

Leon would nod as he threw his bag in the back of the jeep.

"Admirable, but remember to save your own life as well."

He'd start the engine up and wait for Stevie to load up. Once all aboard he would hit the road and get a move on.

"I chose you, even though you are the TIME Captain to come with me. Your skill set and abilities match up with mine pretty well. Besides all that we get along and that counts more than anything."

He'd reach to the console and pull out the briefing folder with territories that have been stopped by.

"We will follow the trail of the reports first and get intel. There will likely be information brokers as well as civilian accounts. I'll have you meet up with some civilians in the next town over who attended Cabal and graduated. Instead of joining the military they went back to their everyday lives. I'm going to go check on my informant in the town and see what they got. If you have trouble use your Qi, I'll be able to see it. Questions?"

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie loaded her small bag. She didn't have all that much.

"Only as a last resort. I won't kill. If I need you, I'll use my Qi. It shouldn't be that difficult to get info. I hope. What If you need me? I can't sense your Qi. Should I be on the lookout for a bolt of lightning in the sky?"

[Leon]

Leon would reach over with his right hand and tap her on the forehead with his middle finger. Then bring the hand back to the wheel to keep driving.

"I can link what I see with what you see so you can know if I need help."

He'd keep driving, but since they had time he figured he would turn the radio on in the back ground.

"What do you want out of military service at the Academy?"

The rain would prattle on about expected weather and blah, blah, blah.

[Stevie-Rae]

Stevie blinked. Then blinked again.

"Do what? How will I be able to see whatI am seeing if I can only see what you are doing?"

A little sing song tune erupted inn her head from Quest for Camelot "Looking through your eyes"

"That's a loaded question. I mean, my parents sent me away to 259 and then I left for the Academy. What do I want? I want a new family, I suppose. I want to have somewhere I belong and somewhere that I can be myself and still help. Somewhere I can fight and do good. Somewhere I won't be looked down on just because I like to punch people. I mean really, whats so wrong with that? A lot of other people get paid to punch people."

Stevie refused to let herself think about the fact that with every passing moment she was getting even closer to Leon. Both emotionally and physically.

[Leon]

Leon pondered it, she wasn't originally from Territory 259? That may explain her attitude difference from others, cultural upbringing in a different territory.

"What Territory are you from?"

The radio went on to talk about local news, like farms having a good harvest, droughts, the usual military tensions.
