Em stood on the pier with several other civilians, her mask pulled up to hide her identity as she waited.
She'd been given the orders a few days prior, a mission to collect a woman that had eluded them for quite a while. Someone to be drafted into Cabal's ranks. She'd ignored the summons, or perhaps didn't get them what with the constant travel. Either way, it was up to the Vice Captain to handle it.
So, she waited.

The rolling of the sea felt as natural as breathing air to Rozalin as she joined the others in their preparations. A good haul, and goods to trade off with merchants waited for them to make port. How questionable some of those goods were was another matter, but they'd avoided trouble before. A smile tugged at the edge of her lips as a gentle breeze finished bringing them along. Above and below deck, she worked with the crew she'd known her entire life on what was another day in a line of many. For all there was qi technology they could use, there was nothing as gratifying as the laws of nature being on your side.
"Put your backs into it, boys! You don't want th' captain to hear you were beat by little ol' me, do ye?" Raucous laughter exploding as they opened the ship.
Emily would find her target striding along the docks as if she owned them, a swagger in her hips and step as she went, a cheerful hum on her lips.

As her foot made landfall, Em would step out of the crowd behind her.
"Rozalin Kendal."
Shifting back the jacket she wore, the Cabal Military patch would be plain as day.
"You were summoned long ago to serve Cabal Academy as a Qi user. It's possible those summons never made it to you due to time out on the sea. We are here now, and your presence is required to learn and hone your powers."
She spoke with a loud enough voice for her to hear, but not so loud that everyone else would know.

Her head turned at the use of her full name, eyes narrowing as a slip of a girl with dark hair and a half-covered face stepped forward as though to throw down a gauntlet And in a way, she did. Unfortunately, Rozalin didn't see the need to go with the girl with the shiny bit of metal. It may have represented her authority to her claim, but there was one who had claim above her, and that was the one Rozalin had to answer to.
"Sorry, darlin', but I never got the letters. Overseas mail is a bit of a pain, you know, and home is pretty far. I have work to do, so I'm afraid it'll have to wait until we're done." She'd turn to speak to one of the crewman who had come up behind her, inventory lists on hand.

"I don't think you understand."
She stepped forward, gently taking her arm.
"I'm not here to ask you to come. I'm here to bring you back. That can either be an experience we remember fondly or one you're embarrassed to tell your comrades. But you are coming to Cabal."

The man beside Rozalin, towering over her by severla inches, leaned in with a frown and a hand going to his hip. Rosa waved him away without looking, handing the clipboard back.
"Everything looks good. Let the captain know we have a guest. A persistent one." She turned her attention to the other young woman at the hand on her arm, offering her a bright, toothy smile. T
"And I don't think you understand, lass. I'm on an official transport business. Now, you and Cabal can officially drag me away and force me into being away without leave, or you can sit your cute little tush down and wait. You can even take a seat on the ship if you're worried I'm going to slip away."

"I like the first one. We're going with that."
She'd keep her grip firm and start walking, doing exactly as Rosa suggested and dragging her ass off to be away on leave. Emily was not the nicest person in the world, and people who got lippy with her about her admittedly fine ass got very little tolerance.

The girl's grip was like an iron manacle. Rozalin frowned as she pulled and actually pulled her off balance. She rolled her eyes and addressed her crew mate. And here she was without her blade. Next time, she'd wear it anyway and let people freak out over something sharp and pointy clearly being on display.
"You heard the lady. You know where to send my stuff to. I'll have a talk with Jones later." She walk with Emily, keeping pace with long strides and little effort, though it took a couple steps to keep herself at a comfortable posture. Solid land just wasn't the same.
"You can let go now, darlin'," she drawled sarcastically. Her words had a bit of a southern drawl with her irritation. "You're not exactly the kind I like to bite, let alone have on my arm."

Emily would indeed let go. She'd glance at her to make sure she didn't make a break for it, and if she didn't, then she'd fall back into Cabal recovery mode.
"Sorry about your job. But Cabal Council members are very...particular about time frames. Waiting for you to finish your work would just complicate things, and it's not like it's life or death."

Rozalin decided to keep her tricks up her sleeves or in her glove, for now. The girl was relaxed, but the place was too packed with people. Easier to duck around and make a break for it, but she'd still be on edge and it would be too obvious where she'd likely go. Going with her now would make it easier for the others.
"Speak for yourself," she muttered. Louder, she continued, "I'm sure they're very proud of for you being on time. And exactly how long am I expected to remain in the pretty little cage?"

"No, they expect me to be on time or they expect me to accept a demotion."
She'd glance back.
"You really haven't heard of Cabal? Service there is commonplace in the world. Especially for Qi users from the territories. You'd have heard about them from the time you were young, I'm sure." She scratched her head. Though she seemed very at ease, nothing could be further from true. Em was like a coiled snake, and if the girl ran, she'd strike.
"You're expected to serve until your capable of fully controlling all facets of your power. Since I was quite easily able to pull you from your boat, I assume you've a long way to go."

"She could use some humility. And some humor. The lass with the ass isn't crass, she's boring." The voice echoed in Rozalin's mind with a sneer that made her frown, the girls' words momentarily drowned out. Her companion was having fun with this one; it was rhyming in what she could only call its "fancy voice".
'You know it's weird when we both agree, right?
"Yes, but that level of cute isn't enough. Can we poke her and see what happens?"
"I've heard. There are places like yours all over the place. Unfortunately, there's complications for me. But that'll come later." It was better to just leave it at that. Details got...awkward. And remembering that there was a physical conversation going on was a welcome distraction. Rather than answer about the level of power she had, Rosa would give a glance around the area, looking for the crowd to thin and a good place with cover for when she'd make a break for it.

She'd stop, letting the woman take a few steps in front of her.
"What kind of problems?"
Was she going to have to deal with someone coming after her? That would be a real issue. She lifted a hand and pointed at the street to the right they were about to pass. It was mostly empty save for a few stragglers.
"This way."

Rosa snorted in disbelief. This girl was a piece of work.
"Guess she's more brawn than brain, eh? Here I was hoping she was a ninja. The ultimate versus battle!"
Deep breaths, Rosa. Several of them. She pinched the bridge of her nose at the combined headache.
"Yes." She snapped as she rolled her eyes. "That would be the other reason I suggested waiting. But you were all gung-ho about being selfish and not getting demoted, so here we are." Another glance showed no one from the crew in the immediate area. Not surprising, but still a little disappointing. Still, she was fine on her own.
A gust of wind would blow up from behind Emily as Rosa continued to walk forward, hopefully knocking her off her feet at least or a distance away.
Let the games begin.
Zero Ability: Ominous Winds – Rozalin is able to summon forth winds strong enough to berate her opponent and those in melee range. Damage is equal to 1/4 her ENG stat with a small knock-back effect. (2 DMG)

"If I had another choice, I'd take it. Unfortunately, like you, I don't."
The wind hit her, causing her be pushed a half step to the right.
