"Well, when I construct it I'm sure you will have ample time to examine it."

He planned to do this before he returned home in glory.

"Most likely." She chuckled softly, seeing things that were far beyond her level of understanding and probably always would be. In truth, even though Preston had said before that he was fine with her approaching him while in the midst of his work, she still felt bad about it.

"I was wondering if you'd have some time free today? I'd like to try some of the methods we talked about before, about taking in energy and transforming it into what you will." A moment's pause as she took a small breath.

"Do you think that's something I could do? That we could work on today?"

He'd push up his glasses at her question. Giving her a long look over from behind his glasses. He'd not say anything for nearly two minutes as he mulled her question over.

"Yes and no. I doubt you will be able to complete a transformation in one session. Especially with no experience. But I am more than willing to go over some basic exercises that we teach our young on how to tap into Mana."

Fully learning to intake and convert mana was a process, and then learning to do something useful with the converted mana even more so. But a basic exercise that children did would be doable he believed. And beneficial.

Those were two of the longest minutes in her life. She felt the heat start to rise to her cheeks and took a deep breath, forcing it away. She knew what it was like to have someone try to assess you and do mental calculations; she just didn't know if it was good or bad that it took him that long to consider. Was he being thorough? Considering possibilities?

Finally, after what felt like forever, he gave his assessment, she nodded and found herself relaxing.

"That's fair. I don't expect to learn something like that all in one sitting, especially without training." Not with her current time frame, either. "But I also don't know how I would measure up against the standards it would take to begin with." It was odd and a little embarrassing to be considered for a child's exercise for those two minutes, but she understood that they had their own strengths, and the way they did things were worlds apart. Not to mention she'd only recently come into her power, while he'd had trainign for far longer.

One step at a time, at least, and this was the first.

"Thank you." She nodded with her thanks, uncertain of the how or when.
