Avice would recieve an alert- that she'd been challenged to a fight in the training field.

Once she arrived, Allen would be there, trying to fix the collar of the leather jacket he wore. He'd gotten it from Einrik, his training there helping him to develop into a stronger man. He'd turn to her and grin.

"Hey. You ready?"

[Avice Locke]

She shook her head. "Ya caught me at a very moment... But I dun wanna leave ya hangin'." she swayed at went wide eyed for a moment before catching herself.

She tossed down a flask. "Oh with one leg i am already in some martial artist kung fu...something or another." she raised a hand and tried to mimick what might have been a crane stance before laughing and almost falling again.

She stood for a moment looking at him before getting back a serious face.

"Fuck I cant even pretend to be drunk..." she cracked her neck and crutched herself up right. "Whatever... I guess if ya feel the need." she beckoned him totally not giving a shit.

His brow furrowed at the flask.

"Did...something happen?"

She was a different person than a few weeks ago, when he asked about being her squad mate. Like a family member just died.

"We don't...have to do this, if you don't want to."

[Avice Locke]

She snapped her fingers and motioned like it was something she just remembered. "Oh.. Yeah that. If you still lookin' for a squad you'll see Eric has an opening... That is if yar not tainted..." the venom in her voice on the word was absolutely pronounced in her sarcastic tone. "As for me... I'll not fuck with the lot of ya. So..." she waved a hand to dismiss the rest of that sentence he got the idea. She was not taking partners. She'd rather go alone as she was used to.

He cocked a brow. Eric. That man made both good impressions and bad impressions on him.

"Okay...I'm not sure, exactly, what happened to cause you guys to split but I have no desire to team up with him. I wanted to join the squad to team with you. I assume he's got no shortage of options available and to be honest, he has nothing to teach me."

He cocked his brow. Obviously, he meant she did.

[Avice Locke]

She sat down and opened her flask after picking it up from where she dropped it. She took a swig and propped her arm on a lifted knee her black jeans and black long sleeved tee gave her a casual comfort and fuck you vibe easily paired with her usual scowl.

"I always do whatever it takes to get the intended result. Quality and swiftness are keys to building a reputation and business. I met both those requirements and he thought me looooow." ahe shrugged. "I dont care for this place but when I have something to do I do my best. Because no one bets on me." she stood again and shoved the flask in her back pocket.

"Why in the fuck would you want me as a partner? And set aside yar personal oaths and morals because if ya say ya owe me I will stop you outright for you could have taken that blast far better than i should have assumed." she sensed his qi and it was plenty.

He cocked his brow.

"Well fuck him then." He shrugged. "I've known people who thought that too. David, Leon, dignitaries. People like that think the strength of their arms means strength of character. Wisdom. Some other alter-god shit I don't care to look into. David used to tell me I'd never make it in Cabal. I was too weak of character, and didn't have the capacity for violence that was necessary here. Yet, I'm standing on the grounds. So fuck people like that, and whatever incredible ego makes them think they have a right to talk to anyone that way."

He would scratch the back of his head.

"And I do want to repay debts, sure. But I also what to grow to be someone who chooses to save others. I don't care how strong you are, or how many limbs you got or who thinks you're worthy. I don't even care if you do. You saw a threat that would have done some incredible harm to me and prevented it. Whatever anyone else thinks, that's who I see you as. And that's what i want to be."

[Avice Locke]

She shook her head again. "I'm no hero, I turn a blind eye faster than I save a man. But some times..." she snaps a finger. "It is just instinct. A building about to drop... You dont have time to think. Only do."

She shrugged. "I'll still be decline yar offer though... I'm not even supposted to be here. But I still am so I need to answer some things on my own. I have a burning need to do some digging by months end." she remembered what the prick told her and honestly she hadn't stopped thinking about it. Eric was smart and it was a warning. Avice while far less educated could see past her emotions to know only that.

She crunched a bit forward and waved a dismissive hand. "Ya called me here for a reason, I shouldn't let my problems get in yar way. I believe I am ready for yar force.

"I can help. And I'm willing to. Don't let one person define your experience here, or define who you are. That's all I was saying. And that instinct isn't in everyone. You didn't see Eric rushing to help civilians, and from what I heard during the battle for the gate, he didn't help his Cabalan comrades either. Just let them die and tried to solo the boss, which he also failed to complete."

A metal sword snaked up out of the ground for his left hand to grab as his right hand drew the sword at his hip.

"But if you don't want a friend right now, that's up to you. I won't force it. Let's rock."

He'd rush forward and aim to slash at her midsection to kick it off!

[Avice Locke]

With a tick she was beside him and his sword slash cut the air.

"Aye, not been one to make friends only aquaintences..." she. Smacked the back of his hind knee to see if he'd falter otherwise she'd stay less mobile conserving energy. "I was just coming here and started to just do what others told me. I forgot why I came here in the first place and..." she chuckled. "I did not come here with good intentions." Her orignal resolve was to see this place and its reputation ruined but it might be much bigger than that and she knew anyone else involved would be brougjt down with her should she fail.

As she hit his knee, she'd find it felt like harsh rock (Stone def: 37).

"Maybe you did. But people and desires change, so don't understand why I should care about that."

Bringing the blade back around, he'd aim to smash the hilt into the side of her face. He was getting the feeling that she was hurt by something Eric had done- by the emphasis on "Tainted" and her desire to suddenly leave Cabal, and not be his friend.

"You're angry about something someone said. Something that you're either afraid is true, or you want to be true." If he missed, he'd snap out a front kick for her stomach.

"But the truth is what you make it, and from what I can tell, you add value to this place. Whether you believe that or not is on you."

[Avice Locke]

She had no intention to leave Cabal. In fact her intention was the complete opposite. She was going to stay and dig up dirt. Something was happening with Cabal and ot involved Prota, The attack made by territory 2, and Eric's borderline paranoia was high enough to keep her on he toes. By the end of the month she needed to know. It dawned on her... The building was collapsing and she was just doing.

She took the knock to the face and stomach. Of which made her nearly puke what she had drank before. She was way to relaxed for this. She fell to her knees. He had distracted her easily with hia correct assumptions. She didn't like when she could be read like a book.

"Aye ya hear a few words enough times you start to..." she shuddered at the lingering taste of bile in her throat. "...believe in them."

"But like I said before I do what it takes told get the job done and it always gets done right..." she stood again from beneath her curls a cape seemingly pouring from her shoulders and made of silk and smoke. "This world has forced me to become exactly what they say from the day I was born. I can say two good things about myself... I am honest and I am determined anything else I left behind just to survive."

[Allen Hollows]

"Sounds like a very lonely way to live."

Stone and metal started to shift on the ground around them as Allen eyed her carefully, unsure what the cape meant.

"I can't speak for other people and what they have said to you. Someone raised under the banner of attrition and war and murder would have a different view of things than someone raised in peace and laughter. Your world view is acting as a writ of execution for your choices. I'm of the opinion that your choices should do that for the world."

He cracked his neck.

"But we all make choices, and have to live with them. If people told you that you are a certain way, then decide not to be. For example- I'll be your friend, if you'd let me. If you decide against that, then you're making that decision, right? Not them. If you decide to take this place on with dark intentions, then that's your choice, just like it will be mine to try and stop you. Your life is yours alone to live. So rise up, and live it."

[Avice Locke]

"I know that!" she hovered above the ground the cape writhed with her Qi. "Ya want to be friends then fine but because of that I will not put you through harm because of my choices!"

What the fuck...

She could believe she said that. He made her frustrated enough to say that a kind of thing that was hard to correct. Not a hero she kept people at a distance. It was easier to be alone because in truth she was one to lose her limbs for their sake. And if she couldn't... Well she had never lost anyone she had grown to know and tolerate. She can't imagine and doesn't want to already seeing enough death of strangers it was fine and her humanity has declined enough to not care for a corpse.

With her burst speed she reacted heading right for him one hand in a claw form she aimed to slash at his face.

Use 2: Vampiric Knight: Avice has unlocked the cape of the Vampire Knight. All Qi moves are considered Vampiric, while active, healing Avice for 1/2 the damage she does to others be it physical or Qi. The cape also allows Avice to flout or glide without needed to touch the ground, levitate if you will.

He shook his head.

"I refuse the basis for your friendship."

She shot forward much faster than before. Rather than try to match her speed, he decided to shrink the area of his combat, giving him time to react and move by shortening the distance and requirements of his movements. He brought his left arm over, metal shield forming for her claws to smash against. His feet were pushed backward a little as Allen grunted and scowled against her newfound strength.

"You don't get to be my friend and dictate what that means. Friends fight hardship together. They talk. They carry each others burdens, good and bad."

Out of the ground, a pillar would shoot, aiming to hit her in the stomach again.

"So either be my friend, or don't. Stop trying to find a way to shrink it."
