Down at the Rose (Avice/Assignment)

[Allen Hollows]

A note would be left on Avices' door late on Friday.

"Come to Amber Rose. Free drinks!

- A"

Once she arrived, Allen would be at the bar with what looked like a tall glass of Vodka. He seemed sober though, and would grin, waving her over. The bar was full of people, most of whom cast glares at them. The Amber Rose was not known to like Cabalan soldiers....curious he would pick this place.

"Thanks for coming. Barkeep, whatever she likes. It's on me."

[Avice Locke]

She came out to this little far off place and spotted him ears listening to the discontented murmuring brewing about.

She looked at him with out taking a seat just yet. "What are you scheming at?"

[Allen Hollows]

"I'm scheming at getting drunk and talking shop. Come sit that perky ass down and let's digest."

He grinned, face slightly red.

Clearly, he couldn't hold his liquor.

[Avice Locke]

She blew heavily at a curl hanging over her face before taking a seat. She had eyes fixed on him. Wondering if he'd make another strike at being her partner. She wondered if he thought it was bright to drink at the most run down and rough place and "talk shop" to find common ground with her.

"Looks like I kept ya waitin' a bit lon' yar cheeks are dark."

[Allen Hollows]

"Naaah I've just got a weak constitution."

He'd turn around and face forward, taking a drink out of his cup.

"I had a thought- perhaps if you and I get drunk together, we might find more in common than we thought. I never drink but hey...what the hell."

And another drink he took.

"You know...for growing up in the Blaze household, I thought things at Cabal would be different."

[Avice Locke]

She buried her face in her hands.

"What kind of person do you think I am?" she smacked the backside of his head. "I get pissed one feel like shit I drink to loosen up and vent not because I'm some drunken' pirate."

She snapped at him and got up to leave.

[Allen Hollows]

Allen would aim to snap out and grab her forearm, but only enough to stop her.

"Avice, wait-"

If she turned back, he'd let her arm go.

"I didn't say you were. Drinking and loosening up to vent is what I want. I'm not- I didn't mean to act like you were a boozer. But some people bond over drinking and that's all I was trying to do."

He scratched his head.

"You...need a friend. Every one does. And whether you admit it or not, you want one. I'm not like Eric or David or Leon or anyone else. I don't have any ulterior motive, nor am I trying to treat you as anything less than a person. That's all."

[Avice Locke]

He grabbed her and apologized profusely. She just went quiet however.

"You really are still on that..." but she was right about him. "This is not the place for something like that. I don't go to bars to make friends unless I want them to forget me." she turned and asked the barkeep for a full bottle of what ever Allen had been drinking. Before grabbing his shirt and dragging him toward the door.

[Allen Hollows]

He smirked.

"I'm nothing if not persistent- heywa-!"

He was tugged out of his seat and dragged through the bar, still finishing his drink he set the glass on the windowsill and let her pull him from the place.

"Where, exactly, is a place for that then?"

[Avice Locke]

"Doesn't 'ave to be any place." she paused as the cold evening air hit her face. Turning to look at him she grinned handing him the bottle she just bought. "What you do is make a story worth remembering."

"Blaze as a dad kinda sucked right?" she chuckled. "Got a couple screws loose alright... So what places here in this massive territory dont actually suck?" she'd let him pick some place for them to start sewing the pages of this night.

[Allen Hollows]

He took a drink, then shrugged.

"Depends on how far you wanna go- this city has plenty to explore. We could go pick a fight with someone. Go steal David or Leons dragon underwear and put it up on the school flag."

He laughed.

"Prick would deserve it."

[Avice Locke]

She shrugged she literally didnt care. She looked at him still crutching down the street with no where in mind.

"Aye that sounds like a story which one will we be doing first?"

A bell caught her attention as someone riding a bike passed. She heard music and paused peeping through a window of what looked to be a dance club. Some lights in the distance as an amusement park was coming to life with the darkening skies.

She looked at him and poked his chest. "Your choice. Especially since I you dont get drunk often it is time to let loose a long many years of being wound tight."

[Allen Hollows]

"Oh shit! Amusement park is up and running!"

He grinned.

"We're definitely getting popcorn and hotdogs and puking on the ferris wheel. Nothing says bonding like throwing up on each others shoes."

He started laughing and would head that way!

[Avice Locke]

"Aye maybe keepin' some food in ya will settle yar drunk a bit too..." she chuckled and followed. Honestly she didn't understand him. He might could tell her reasons all day long but she'd not get it. It just didn't fit the rest of the world she knew. Not that she hadn't met his lot before. The genuine kind, but more like she stabbed through their true nature and left. People usually did these things when they are morally inclined to make up for something they feel bad or uncomfortable about. Truth be told it was selfish. And more so to assume she needed anything they dont have the strength to live without. Avice was herself and it has been fine not making permanent friendships. Though she'll admit not knowing what that truly means just means she can go without missing something.

You don't know what you have till it is gone, you dont know what you'll miss till it is found.

Still to the bright and bold amusement park. She found it quite bright and the lack of color made some parts undesernable from others. But even as she squinted from the lights getting through the entrance seemed to be much more comfortable.

As they arrived, they'd find it mostly empty, people too busy worrying about the world to go to the newly opened amusement park. His eyes alight with wonder, he grinned broadly.

"Not since the old world have they had these kinds of things....259 must be thriving!"

He looked to Avice.

"Well, lead the way! Where you wanna go first?"
