The glow around his body continued as his eyes watched her. Reading her movements as she did the feint, he'd let her get close before striking. Using his superior reach to slam a giant meaty fist for her face as she went to slice at his side, committed to her attack. Hopefully being punched in the face full force would keep it from being more than a shallow gash.

They seemed evenly matched; at least she had chosen well in that. Unfortunately, being evenly matched also meant his meaty fist was able to make full contact with her face, sending the much shorter redhead off balance enough that, while the blade struck true, it hardly had the capacity to do what she'd willed. Or perhaps that was merely Cabal's shields in effect. She knew of them by this point, but had yet to see them in action for herself, or see how much she could do with them in place.

It was a worthy learning experience for that alone.

She backed up a couple steps, trying to keep out of his immediate range as she spat out a wad of blood from her mouth to the side of the both of them. The interest and intrigue never left her eyes.

"Interesting. Where'd you learn to fight?"

"Life."

He'd say, stepping forward as she back peddled. It was his turn to push the attack while she was reeling. His leg would snap upward with a powerful kick for her hand that held her blade, looking to disarm her and force her to fight on his level.

"Really." She wasn't sure if it was a cheap answer or not, and decided against it. She could claim the same - life had a way of teaching everyone. So he would keep up this time. Ali could appreciate that. She could also appreciate having training under her belt enough that, while the kick to her hand stung, nod permanent damage seemed to be done. Her blade, however, dropped to the ground as he disarmed her.

It was like fighting a brick wall in that way. Rather than yield, however, she would continue her attack, dropping to try and kick his right knee from the outside!

It was time to see what else she could do.

She'd hit his knee painfully, causing him to buckle and drop. Though as he dropped he'd push both arms out bent like he was guarding his face as he drove both elbows down toward her head, using his drop to help fuel his strike.

There was a sense of satisfaction when she felt the kick connect as intended, rolling to grab her sword as he started his descent. Blunt attacks seemed the more effective route, though even now he wasn't without his own counter methods.

Gravity was on his side, and though he wouldn't strike her head with the blow, he wold strike her sword arm and shoulder. Ali gritted her teeth together as the limb went numb, forsaking the blade for now to stay on his level as Caelan apparently wished. She could use a little variety, anyway.

"Kek," she grunted, pulling her leg around so he wouldn't fall on it or grab it, using it to bring her up more and keep balance as she would instead slam her elbow into his face!

As she was twisting away to position herself he was rolling to the side now that he'd hit the ground, letting her elbow sail passed him as he rolled, grabbing for her sword and slashing out at her stomach with her own blade!

RUDE, SIR.

Allison's eyes widened as Caelan used her own sword to attack her, utterly horrified and furious at how this man could be so crass and uncivilized. His attack with the blade effectively sliced through fabric and flesh alike. With the protections in place, it wasn't deep and certainly not worth the look on her face that looked like she was about to unleash a hurricane on him.

She knew how to work her way to putting an enemy down with blade in hand. Grappling and groping like they were back in the stone age? That was another thing entirely.  She pulled out of reach, pushing herself to her feet lest he try to use his now even longer reach in his favor.

"You used my own blade against me?!" Her cheeks heated with fury at the audacity. What was wrong with him?!

He'd stand and slash at the air with the blade. His eyes shifting from it to her.

"Why not?"

"Because it's an insult, that's why!" Rude. Uncivilized. Primitive. Where had he learned this...this?!

"Fine. It's a friendly session."

He'd say, tossing her blade up toward her for her to catch. He didn't want her to feel he cheated.

She stepped forward, catching it with ease and precision, though she was still studying him. She hadn't thought he'd actually give it back. Had she misjudged him? Did he actually have a bit of decent upbringing in him?

"Thank you." The words were wary, but not insincere. Nodding, she straightened, but looked him over instead.

"Are you able to keep going, or should we stop here?" Courtesy for courtesy. It was a friendly match.

"You're welcome." He'd say, running a massive hand through his hair while his other hand moved to his side to probe at the gash. His voice as rough as it was the first time he spoke to her.

"I've had worse. Do you wish to stop?"

She'd taken a lot of blows to the face after all.

A fact of which her head was reminder her right now, now that she was no longer being whipped about to and fro. It was a more brutal fight than any she'd had back home, since even the armor Preston had given her had saved her from being skewered by an enemy spear.

"I can continue if you wish to keep going." Her chin lifted slightly in his directed, refusing to yeild and leaving the option in his hands.

He would look her up and down, weighing and evauating her. He thought she took more of a beating than him. She was obviously tough and prideful. Pushing further would just get them both hurt. He didnt want that to happen so it was clear what he should do.
